We encountered a level of disrespect from staff that I've genuinely never experienced at a restaurant or winery before. To be transparent: half our group ran more than 30 minutes late due to a road closure and GPS confusion. We called ahead, explained the situation, and even asked the winery for directions. Staff confirmed that since part of our party will arrive on time, we were welcome to proceed with the reservation. Walking in, I passed two servers openly talking down about another table of guests, which set an uneasy tone before our visit had even begun. Once seated, we were given plastic St. Patrick's Day cups instead of glassware, despite it being late March, and no other table on the patio was served this way. It felt like a small but pointed signal of mistreatment. The low point came when a guest accidentally spilled a drink. We asked a server for help, and he responded by tossing his cleaning rag at me rather than addressing the spill himself. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes. My friend and I brought our concerns to a manager, who said he'd speak with the server. The server did apologize afterward, which I appreciated, but it didn't erase the feeling of disrespect. I understand that running late put the staff in an awkward position, and in hindsight, calling to cancel might have been the better call on our end. But running late isn't an invitation for bullying, and no guest, late or not, deserves to be mocked or handed a dirty rag instead of basic courtesy. Lorimar Vineyards has been here over 15 years and it's one of the many vineyards and wineries in Temecula Valley. Decided to stop here and revisit for a late lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as I walked inside, the host Dakota was super cordial and got me seated at their outdoor patio beneath sun shades, next to the vineyard and I had a perfect unobstructed view of the jazz performer on stage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After seating, I ordered a glass of their signature Cabernet Sauvignon and the Fromagé plate, which was presented shortly afterwards. The fromagé plate had a variety of cheeses, seedless red grapes, dried apricots, fig preserve spread and additionally a plate of bread... perfect for sharing or not. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away, which was a good start. We came on a Sunday during a three-day weekend, so we expected it to be busy, and we were still there to have a good time. That said, service was definitely not the fastest. Once we got seated, it took about 30 minutes for someone to greet us and take our order. Our server was sweet, so I don't want to put it all on her, but it did seem like the restaurant could have used more servers to accommodate the crowd. The food was okay. I purchased a Groupon for Lorimar Vineyards & Winery. It was our first time visiting this winery, and it will definitely not be our last. Our server was Chris. He was absolutely AMAZING! He was so entertaining and friendly. We asked him if we could taste only red wines. OMG!! We enjoyed every single red wine we tasted, which is rare. It was really hard to decide which bottle to purchase. We ended up choosing a bottle of 2021 Montepulciano. Honestly, I was surprised at how reasonably priced their wines were. I've been a wine club member at four other wineries in the past, and their prices were such a pleasant surprise. Decided to have lunch here today and I ordered a good glass of red wine and the Turkey Bacon Sandwich. The wine was excellent and the sandwich was very good as it came with fries. Our server was Kristin and she was wonderful. Came for the murder mystery dinner after seeing a flyer at our tasting last month. WILL NEVER RETURN! The event was great for the price however the service was atrocious. Erin took over a half hour to take our order. We waited for everything all night! After our order was finally in still waited another 10 minutes or so for drinks. Had a family day at the winery and it was great! The weather was perfect to take our 5-month-old and sit outside with some wine. Brought my parents along as well. They don't drink wine so my mom was the DD and my dad sampled a flight with us. The ambiance was great. Lots of seating in various areas and child friendly. The flights are priced well at $25 for 6 pours, and the knowledgeable sommelier even gave us an additional glass. Overall the taste of wine was OK, but nothing we'd purchase. I don't recommend the charcuterie board. It was an unimpressive spread of lunch meat, grapes, cheese, and crackers that I believe cost $30 something. Ashleigh and Dakota served us with a few tastes before choosing a wine to pour for a glass. We tried the Berbera, the Petite Savoy, and one other wine. All were great! This event was VIP $120 per Or general $35. We wanted the general only because we never been here. There is a lot to like about Lorimar Winery, though a few details kept the experience from being great. The winery and its grounds are both beautiful and spacious, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The sangria was unfortunately quite diluted and lacked flavor, most likely due to the main ingredient, wine, being too light. Actually, there was no fruit either. The charcuterie board was more entertaining than appetizing; the rolled deli ham (which appeared like turkey at first glance) felt like an afterthought or space filler rather than a curated choice. Overall, the board lacked balance and texture, with components that felt mismatched and underwhelming. On the bright side, the Brussels sprouts were flavorful and came in a generous portion. The mimosa flights were enjoyed by my friends, fun, fruity, and refreshing. I should have ordered the mimosa flight instead; the sangria, while a good idea on a hot day, was unfortunately watered down and surprisingly bland. Service was friendly, though we had to ask for ice (on a very hot day) and utensils to share the board. The outdoor patio seating area is large and includes misters, which are a thoughtful touch for cooling things down, though sitting too close can be uncomfortable due to the spray. The beautiful thing is, they have live music and entertainment. I've also visited in the past and enjoyed a Reserve Wine Tasting, which included six 1-ounce pours of my choice from the Sparkling, White, Rosé, Red, and Reserve tasting menus, a well-rounded experience. read more

For both wine and food, Lorimar is a very solid choice. Their Sangiovese is fantastic and all food I've had has been yummy. My friend's got married there last year and what was served at the wedding was so good! I've also done a couple of tastings over the last year and they've been nice, as well. This place has a great atmosphere, and I appreciate that it was not crowded. It is beautiful with a picturesque vineyard and private reserved area on the lawn. If you walk down the path after the lawn, there is a really nice arch for pictures, and we plan to do a quick little ceremony out there on our event day. I was in the area and was wondering how Lorimar winery had progressed over the years, so I dropped in today for a tasting. To my surprise they had totally revamped the property by expanding the patio area; repurposed the small party room as a tasting room; and created a member's room. Erin D ensured my tasting was perfect, and enjoyable! The wine was good and refreshing, but I didn't understand that the standard sparkling wine was on the reserve list and unavailable for the standard tasting and the only option was a raspberry or peach sparkling? As wine club members for the past six years, we were really disappointed with our recent experience at Lorimar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We called early for a reservation but were seated in one of the worst locations for both viewing the stage and hearing the live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, the issues didn't stop there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our table was dirty when we were seated, and on a 90-degree day we were served warm water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was equally disappointing. The Short Rib Pasta Ragu was extremely acidic and tomato-heavy, tasting more like crushed canned tomatoes than a slow-cooked ragu. The sliders were very dry and needed to be dipped into the pasta sauce just to make them palatable. The Chicken Marsala lacked any noticeable Marsala flavor and instead tasted primarily of peas and spinach. The Caprese was served warm despite is typically being served as cold, although the flavors themselves were good. We've always enjoyed Lorimar and have supported the winery for years, which makes this visit especially disappointing. We hope this feedback is taken seriously because the quality of both the food and service was well below what we've come to expect. My girlfriends and I came here this past weekend for a get together. We had a party of 11. The food and wine were great and the live band was pretty good which makes this experience even more disappointing :( Our server, Ginger, was inattentive and rude throughout most of the night. We were ignored for long stretches, at one point waiting over 45 minutes for her to check on our table, while she continued to visit her other tables around us. When we asked questions about the menu or wine, her responses were dismissive and unhelpful. She also refused to take food and drink orders at the same time, slowing service even further. She literally took everyone's order but my friend next to me who made the reservation reservations it took her forever to come back. When I tried ordering a bottle of wine for the table she raised her voice and told me to wait my turn! Ew! Speaking to me like a child!!!!! After one of my friends spoke with a manager, she was offered a bottle of wine, that didn't solve the problem for my other 10 friends though. However, when Ginger brought the wine over, she said, "Here's your bottle for complaining," which was extremely unprofessional. When I asked about wine recommendations, she was again unhelpful and unpleasant. I get you guys were busy but that doesn't justify the disrespect from her. Her behavior was unprofessional and not appropriate for a service role. This place has so much potential great atmosphere, music, food, and wine but the service completely horrific what should've been a fun night. Until that's addressed, I can't justify more than two stars. read more
