I solicited the help of the Carrollton Police and thankfully they brought her out. The police report is #2022082537 made on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. There were problems at AL from the very first day, and Mom's entire stay there was five weeks and three days, which in hindsight was five weeks and two days too long. Do not leave your loved one in the care of Autumn Leaves. The organization is corrupt from the top down. Two days prior to the kidnapping situation, the Healthcare Director of AL tried to have me arrested for criminal trespassing while I was sitting in my mother's room early in the morning to ensure Mom was allowed to sleep. I'm very grateful that the three policemen who arrived that day agreed that I had a legal right to be there and did not arrest me. What a nightmare! Do not, absolutely DO NOT put a loved one in any Autumn Leaves residence.

The small number of people in each home makes it easy to visit and the atmosphere is more home-like. I feel sure that Kendra's care extended her life because she personalized everything about her care, getting her up to keep walking, and learning and addressing her needs. We did have occasional concerns about other staff and our concerns were always addressed satisfactorily. Nellie and Joy were also good; unfortunately I don't know all of the other names. I appreciated her diligence and the effort she put into my case. Old review : I had total knee replacement surgery. This company contacted me initially and we set up times. The RN came and she was Amazing! The PT came and he was great. What I have major issues with is I was supposed to be getting 3 sessions a week for two weeks minimum.. On my about to be third session , the PT said oh we don't have pre authorization. I wondered about this so I called. The company would not call me back. I called twice. I waited 7 hours and no follow up call. I called a third time around 3 in the afternoon . I finally got someone and they said, " Oh we don't have pre authorization." I said , "Then how did you guys send people to my house in the first place?" They still have not answered that question. I still should be having PT sessions , it was knee surgery, the Dr. office did send that over (I checked) , and still no services and no calls from this company when I should be having therapy. Knee surgery is a difficult surgery mentally and emotionally, and to have to deal with this is unacceptable. I rated the company a 1 only because I really liked the PT and OT. Their management , scheduling , return calls needs to be improved.

Shelly helped us to find an assisted living for my father in Tarrant County and a year later, she helped us secure an Independent living facility for my Mom in Dallas County. My mother was a resident at Tradition Prestonwood for about three years, primarily in assisted…read moreliving, then in memory care for the last four months. Most of the caregivers were wonderful people. The problem with this facility is the administration. Communication is horrible. As a family member it's never clear who to call for what issue. But worse is the significant turnover at the admin level. We went through three different directors of healthcare, three assistants to that role, two directors of memory care, and multiple other administrative position changes. I raised my concerns - we'd have "team meetings", but things would not improve. And just when I thought I had a good go-to point person I'd learn that that person left. I finally moved my mother to another (smaller) facility, and it's been night and day - SO much more attention and better communication. The Tradition also passed along huge rent increases every year. A modest rent increase may be reasonable, but these were huge - well beyond inflation. The whole operation makes the customer feel like just a "number" on a spreadsheet . . . it's all about the profit. They nickel and dimed on little things like a meal to the room, or one more medication beyond a given tier. Just felt heartless. Again, not the care givers themselves, but the management.
