My sister went to Nick and loved her hair (she's gone to a lot of colorists before) so I had to see for myself. I've also gone to a lot of different people for color and cut and I've been semi satisfied each time. I can say I'm 110% satisfied this time! Nick listened to what I had to say and went above and beyond to make sure he achieved the look I was going for, even sitting me down to adjust the color a second time, which not many would do. The first time I came here was for a consultation, and I was recommended a conditioning mask before I came back to get my hair dyed. I needed to fix a box dye job I did at home that did not come out well. The mask was amazing, and even my family noticed my hair looked so healthy and was very soft. I came back a week later, and Nick dyed my hair. Everyone is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and professional, and they have refreshments available for customers. Great place, great staff! Recently called to make an appointment for my wife and 2 daughters and while confirming a 9:30am appointment, I asked if my younger daughter could go first because she had a 10:00 am dance class to attend. The receptionist immediately changed it around and gave us a 9:00am appointment to make it easy on me. That is what I call great service. I was extremely impressed that when they went to their appointment the receptionist immediately knew who they were, greeted them, and got them taken care of. She is absolutely fantastic. They all got beautiful cuts, 1 of them by Loraine and 2 by Rebecca. They said that the stylists were extremely friendly and professional and seemed very happy. First time coming to this salon and I was hoping for a better experience. My stylist had another client come in while she was doing my hair, which i understand. However, while my hair was processing at the sink, my stylist was working with her other client and did not change her gloves before coming over to me to check my highlights then proceeded to use the same bleach and brush from her other client to use on my hair. While I understand she was busy, cross contamination is unacceptable, especially during a pandemic. In addition, I have been getting my hair done for years and I have never paid so much for highlights and a hair cut. While my stylist was very nice I couldn't risk returning due to this uncleanly act and over priced services. read more

Amazing Experience! I wanted to change my hair and look like one of those Pinterest girls!! Since of course we all go to Pinterest to pick out our fav hair coloring. I came across Brick and Mirror Beauty Bar on Yelp and read the comments and looked at the pictures provided. I was looking for a new colorist that can give me the color I wanted from I liked on Pinterest. Reading and viewing everything and doing my research (Nicholas YouTube channel) I was SOLD! I made an appointment with Nicholas. Nick was GREAT! From the moment I walked thru the door and out it was exactly what I wanted! Nick was so easy to talk to and understood what I wanted and what I liked in the pictures I showed him. ( provided the pics on my iPad so he could see the picture blown up and all the different colors I liked! FYI) The staff and Nick were so kind and very professional. Nick would engage in conversation with me and explained every step he was going to do with my hair! The products they used were so refreshing! ( literally made my hair/head feel refreshing!) Nice big wide chairs at the sink and able to put your feet up! Nick colored my base, put lowlights ( lighter brown color) and painted highlights on. Then at the sink, Nick did what he calls a "color melt" around my head in certain spots. I think it's like a toner or is. I walked in with different types of highlighted tones ( warm and cool) that didn't flow nicely, along with frizzy maybe dry out hair. Didn't look so great. I felt like a rusted pipe. I walked out with such softttt hair and AMAZING COLOR! After all these years I've wanted different dimensions and beautiful coloring! I finally got it! Why did it take this lonIt was such a great experience and reasonably priced! I will definitely be coming back and having Nick as my Colorist! YAY! At 8 am I called and made a 12 pm appointment for a haircut with Lu. This was my first time trying this salon because I usually go to Depasquale. Lu was so so sweet and really asked what I wanted before she cut anything. I get one haircut a year and at this point it was touching my belly button. She sensed that I was nervous about cutting it all off and ameliorated any fears I had. I will definitely be coming back and requesting I see her again. The one constructive criticism I'd give the salon as a whole though is cleanliness. I'm not saying it's dirty, but it's a little off putting when you arrive to the station and there's someone else's hair on the floor. But again, Lu's great and really knows what she's doing. Today I went in for a haircut and color with Kimmy. I have naturally jet black hair and a grown out balayage that had already turned brassy. I showed Kimmy the color that I wanted which is warm brown - I didn't want something too light, but I still want it to look nice. She was so sweet and I could clearly see that she loves what she does! She took her time in asking me what I wanted for my cut and color and if there was something I didn't understand, she would explain it to me. She also cares about the integrity of the hair, so she said if I wanted to go lighter, we would have to do another session so that my hair doesn't get damaged. It took four hours to do my hair but she was patient and so accommodating. In the end, I absolutely love it! As I pointed out, I originally have black hair that's fine and thin so it just looked boring - but now I love the texture and the look of my hair!!! I don't know hair and beauty terms but dang my hair looks like it has life and dimension now. Thanks Kimmy and the crew at Brick and Mirror! Will definitely be back! read more

Becca and I looked through lots of pictures and spoke in length about a color that would look best on me, but would also be low-maintenance. My hair looks and feels great! I walked in with really long hair. Kim was my stylist. She was nervous about cutting my hair since I wanted it really short. She suggested I take off a few inches and come back if needed. I said ok. I went back after about 2 weeks since I wanted my hair short and was not happy with the length. This time I asked for Nick who is the manager/ owner. He is great. He cut my hair and I was happy with it at no extra charge. He said if I want it even shorter I can go back. I did end up going back after a couple of weeks and getting my hair shorter. Nick did great. I still continue to get compliments. He did charge me this time though, which I wasn't expecting, but am not complaining . Although I would have been thrilled if he didn't. read more

This was a while ago, June 2017. I came into the salon because my mom had box dyed my hair but somehow green started showing up. I found this place online and came in for an appointment at 12pm. One look in my hair and the stylists knew something was wrong. They bleached my hair once, I can't remember if it was twice or not. There was still green in my hair and it looked like nothing had changed since I walked in the salon. By now it's already 3pm or so. I showed them a reference picture of the hair color I wanted, I wanted gray hair and they applied it like normal. When they went to wash my hair, none of the colors stayed. My hair was still yellow and green. At this point my mom had come into the salon to look for me. She argue a little since I'm more on the shy side and wouldn't speak up about what I wanted. In the end, they told me that they were going to give me whatever color I wanted and I could come back next week and they can try to give me gray. I chose purple with blue roots, and that was great. I loved the color. That's the only reason this review has 2 stars. At this point, the salon was already closes but they were still washing my hair. But then they charged for the this purple and this visit! It was around $200 for 7 hours at a salon and they told me the next visit where they give me the correct color would be another $180. That was ridiculous. I wasn't about to pay more for them to fix up a problem like that. I left the salon with wet hair (they covered it with a leave in conditioner) and not the color I went in to get. Never went back, I still think about this place because it comes up in my searches when looking to dye my hair. read more

Everyone knows when you find your "place" you never want to leave, so when I found myself in search of a new salon unexpectedly, I was nervous to say the least. Had I known then what I know now, I would've realized that switching salons and making an appointment with Nick was a fantastic decision! From the exterior, the salon is very unassuming as it's located in a strip mall and isn't particularly eye-catching from the outside. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised as I was greeted by the receptionist and offered a seat and a beverage. The interior is simple, clean, nicely decorated, yet gender neutral (no ultra feminine boutique here!). You'll see both men and women getting their hair cut here, which is a nice change of pace! Nick is incredibly nice and down to earth, as was the entire rest of the staff I encountered. We briefly chatted about what I wanted to do, I showed him a photo, and I felt confident that he understood my vision. Though, he did advise me that I shouldn't go as light as I had wanted with my balayage because I was headed to the beach for a week. In the end, I loved my cut and color but felt it was just a tiny bit darker than I would've liked. Much to my surprise (and appreciation), Nick was spot on and by the end of my vacation, my hair has lightened to the perfect tones! (Not to mention that it didn't turn brassy or harsh.) I've NEVER gotten more compliments on my hair! I will definitely recommend Nick and Brick & Mirror to all of my friends, and I look forward to going back! read more

Sarayah's Magic! Today was my first time at Brick and Mirror Beauty Bar. I had a appointment to see the famous Sarayah !! Walking in, I noticed right away the salon had a very friendly vibe. I loved the decor and everyone was very nice. As I sat down with Sarayah any feelings of concern I had about my hair color were gone. She took the time to connect with me and really listen to what I wanted for my hair . She really cared and I didn't feel rushed in the least. Once we agreed on what she was going to do she started . She was very precise and took her time. She made sure my hair was done perfectly as I had wanted it. I could tell she really loves what she does.
