This is a great gym in the timonium/ cockeysville area. I had priced a few gyms when I was looking to change up my routine and this one was one of the best priced with the most amenities (pool, steam room, sauna, basketball). This gym is very busy and popular and personally that can sometimes lead to frustration, mainly with regards to certain "in demand" pieces of equipment (steppers, etc). I am not patient and I am at the gym with a plan and a time frame and I don't like waiting or adjusting my plans because I have #GOALS but such is life. Maybe one day I will be able to afford my own home gym and then I won't have to share lol. Until that day BB is a great gym option!!! The location of the gym is great. Super convenient - right off 83, the gym is always clean, there is LITERALLY always someone cleaning, the bathrooms/ showers are super clean, the gym is well lit, the machines are always in working order, and they have a wide variety of equipment. There aren't really any pieces of equipment that they don't have. Lots of different classes for whatever you're interested in (yoga, boxing, body pump) and different membership levels if you're not about that pool life. The locker rooms have private changing rooms, towels are provided, etc... One of the best things about the gym is the personal training staff. Keenan has helped me lose about 30 lbs of fat and gain countless lbs of muscle in the last 3 months. If you are looking for a trainer I highly recommend him. He doesn't sugar coat anything and keeps it really real. He also doesn't let you whine your way out of getting a good workout. Pros: It's a huge step up from other Brick Bodies locations. It's more spacious, newer machines, and has a basketball court. Cons: - Still no personal TVs on each cardio machine (yeah, they'll change a channel if you ask, but it's annoying). - Despite it's larger size it still gets very crowded - Parking can be a challenge at peak times - WiFi signal is very weak (barely enough for a laggy Pandora; forget about watching Netflix on the treadmill) - Personal annoyance, no racquetball courts. Space has been converted to Dance studio and TRX / boxing space because there's probably more demand and they make a lot of money on classes. Overall: Not the perfect gym, but better than the worst. read more

When I saw how big Brick Bodies is I was a little concerned. Decided to give it a trr and Im so glad I did! I am loving it!! Im not kind of a person who likes the huge places but with Brick Bodies you dont feel lost. So many different classes to try! Cycling has a huge projection screen which makes a big diference! When you join BB offers 4 sections with a personal trainer. Mine was Jeremy Jernigan who I recommend, he is wonderful. With a background as a Physical Therapist, he gave me excellent tips that are really helping me. read more

I'm commenting about the pool in Timonium. I've been swimming here for quite some time. It's becoming impossible to find a lane to swim because they are booking classes during prime times after work and on the weekends. And yesterday I swam through some white muck in and on top of the water that was explained to me that they had to scrape the bottom of the pool with a brush and that's what the residue was. There is a brown greasy stain that looks like a bathtub ring around the entire pool. this never used to be this way. Brick bodies needs to make available lanes during prime hours - at least four lanes. I'm not the only one showing up to swim and there's no lane available or it's full with private lessons, swim classes or some people swimming in the one of the only open lanes for over an hour and you may have to wait for at least 20 for someone to get out the water in the other lane. I'm going to wait my turn but it's becoming harder to come down and not know what to expect every single time in terms of being able to swim or not being able to swim or having to wait. You have to plan your time and build an extra half hour into your schedule to allow for wait time to finally get in. I'm annoyed. I can only swim because I have a bad back. it's hard to stay healthy and fit when you can't swim because of the Ever-growing crowds or the class schedules. read more

I've debated back and forth whether or not to post this review, but I think it's important to share my experience. The facility itself is nice. Customer service and member safety/comfort are a joke. I was being harassed online by a gym member who made objectifying and crude comments about my body. I sent an email to the manager to find out what could be done and was essentially told that since it didn't happen at the gym, they couldn't do anything. I produced screen shots of his comments. I was then told that I "should delete my online dating account and meet someone organically." Honestly, what a slap in the face. Victim blaming 101. They don't give a crap about member safety at all. I've had to alter my workout schedule to avoid running into the creep who harassed me. I lost a lot of respect for this place. read more

I would give this new location 4.5 stars, but for the price, it deserves 5 stars. I am a long term member of the MAC, and was tempted to try this location since it allows children over 14 to become members (my son is a jock and loves to exercise). The hours open are much longer than the MAC hours. The showers in the women's dressing room are half the size of the MAC showers. However, the sauna in phenomenally large. They appear to have far more equipment than the MAC, and during a peak time, I had no problem locating a very easy to use elliptical. They offer complimentary coffee and espresso, which my husband loved. They had a very nice playroom for young children, if I had young children, I would spend tons of time at this gym, as I did at the MAC when my son was much younger. They also offer free wifi, towel service, and hair driers. Luckily, I got a great "corporate" deal. The MAC has severe competition to contend with. My husband, a great bargainer like my dad (the ultimate cheapskate-he refers to it as bartering), tried to get a discount from the MAC to stay members, but they refused, insisting we needed to bring in more members to lower our fee. I loved the FREE water filters, abundant parking, and diversity of members. The members appeared much younger than MAC members, and more ethnically diverse. At the MAC, if I forgot my water bottle, they charged $2 for a 16 ounce bottle of water. I am cancelling my MAC membership tomorrow. read more

I really like this gym, it has the complete package for what I need and oddly the membership saves me money....I will get into that below. I have been a member for 5 months now and visit the gym from 10am-1130 four times during the week. Parking during those hours are fine as I consistently get like 6 cars away from front but who is counting, its not a terrible walk or parking experience by any means. The greeters who take your card are courteous and strive to remember your name, they offer you a towel and a couple times I forgot my card was no big deal at all. The mens locker room is clean but crowded and sometimes a real bear to find a bench so I just have to empty my locker at another bench, again no real hassle. The TVs are a nice touch and I feel comfortable in there, also now that it is getting colder they keep it a nice comfortable temperature. I have noticed on occasion some really messy sinks with massive amounts of hair where someone shaved and didnt clean up. I dont know if they have staff that cleans regular but I did notice that often. There are ample sinks, i have never had to wait and the bathroom area is clean and never crowded with floor to ceiling doors on the toilets. The shower area is nice and clean with large personal shower areas and soaps/shampoo options. Water is always warm and pressure is good. The dry spa is nice and large and yes you will see naked men in there on occasion, I am a grown adult and realize this isn't the YMCA so no biggy here. The workout areas are clean and I regularly see at least 2 staff spraying and cleaning the machines up and down the rows. The workout equipment is very modern and up to date and always works perfect. I do not do cardio so cannot comment on that area or setup. After I am done my workout i hit the locker and change into my trunks and hit the aquatics area, the pools are very clean and spacious. I really enjoy the 90+ degree smaller pool and will swim laps often. Never a wait. There is always plenty of staff around and always a good experience. The hot tub is very large, jets are powerful and temperature is nice and hot, the wet sauna is a hybrid steam and is very nice. Upon entry on several occasions I have tried to sit on the left side of the bench and its so hot it will burn your legs, I learned the steam comes from that area and cannot imagine a woman in a bathing suit able to sit there. Upon my exit I grab a coffee from their high end, fresh ground coffee machine for my ride to work. It even has espresso option and this has saved me around 12$ x week as I would always hit the SBUX drivethru so the way I look at it is I get to workout for free! I toured other gyms in the area and this by far was the complete package for me, I do spend alot of time in the aquatics and spa area and that sealed the deal for me. One of the major perks that I just started using was the family swim days. Its Friday, Sat and Sunday and we really enjoy that often. Keep up the good work Bricks! read more

I absolutely love this gym, but haven't gone lately due to the pandemic. Parking is ample, there are plenty of cardio machines (ellipticals, stairclimbers, treadmills), weight machines, and free weights. There's also space for you to stretch and do your own personal workouts. Have yet (knock on wood) to be unable to find a wipe to clean the machines after use (they're pretty good about that). Their class schedule isn't as comprehensive as the MAC's or Life Fitness, but its offerings are worthy. I can't wait to go back; miss this place so much. read more

This club is attractive and clean. Compared to the old location, it is a visual improvement, however, it's a miss for me. Unfortunately it has lost its charm and intimacy. At the old club there was familiar camaraderie; it is now lost. The studio classes are dangerously overcrowded. New classes need to be added to make this a safer facility. There does not seem to be a reliable system in place to document requests. The swimming pool smelled of strong chemicals. They say they are using a special filtration system that would reduce the amount of chlorine and other pool chemicals. I used the pool twice and can say for sure that my skin hurt and bathing suit was odorous. The co-ed steam room was a cheap, awkward pod that seemed unsanitary. Three inches of water pooled around my feet. People who switch from the MAC will probably be happy because the facility is large, new and less expensive. While new members may be pleased, many old members have expressed disappointment. Perhaps they will get out some of the kinks. Right now it feels like they are trying too hard to be the 'it' club of fitness. There is something very robotic and sterile about the environment. Not sure that it will ever have the feel of a family run club like the old Padonia and their other locations. read more

Recently the newest location opened. When you first walk in it looks amazing. Really, it does. But then you realize something fast. It's loud. Abnormally loud. While I realize gyms can be noisy during peak hours (I would know), having all of the cardio equipment on a wooden surface only adds to it. Really, even with my headphones in this gym was LOUD. I don't know how the wood/cardio combo works, but in comparison to gyms that have carpet or that weird rubbery floor stuff, it was loud. I can't tell you enough how loud it was. And that's really annoying. Also, they have purple accent lights in the gym. I don't know why (maybe is because the Ravens are in the playoffs, but I have a feeling that's not it). You don't really need purple accent lights in a gym. Everything in here is bright and clean. The locker rooms are beautiful, and they have (manual) automated locks, so you don't need to bring a lock. They have tons of machines, and plenty of room to work out. The various studios (boxing, mind/body and studio 1) looked lovely. The kids area is also really flipping awesome. Clearly they put a lot of thought into it, and frankly if I were a kid I'd never want to leave there. read more

Sweet Husband Mine and I come to this location on the weekends, partially because the downtown location's hours aren't that great (closing at 4pm on the weekends is understandable, but not convenient to our schedules), and partially because the variety of strength training machines is a lot greater than in downtown. I can't really complain - after all, it's like comparing a blueberry to a cantaloupe, Padonia is that much larger. The atmosphere is nice, if a bit impersonal - that's the one thing I do like about the downtown location, it's small and everyone seems to know everyone else (often on a first-name basis). This place, not so much. The facilities are a LOT nicer here, though - larger restrooms, huge showers, and plenty of water stations to go around. I do wish that they'd have more places to discard towels - it's kind of a pain to walk all the way back to the restroom to do so, especially when you're down by the exercise studiios, but it's a minor quibble. The free coffee is a nice touch, though I've never partaken (somehow, after a hard workout, coffee just doesn't sound too appetizing). You'll never have to wait for a machine here - there are more than plenty. That's a plus. The clientele seems to be more of a "mix" here - seniors, the young, the overweight and fit alike. It's a good addition to our downtown sessions, for sure. read more

This is a great gym. We have been members since the new facility opened earlier last year and have been impressed with the value, cleanliness, and child care. I like that it is family owned. Victor Brick can be seen working out on a regular basis. His daughter is the manager of the Padonia gym and is always visible--talking to members, tidying the locker room, visiting the child care room, or at the front desk. We receive electronic survey requests asking for feedback. They seem to really care about the gym. I have had positive experiences with the child care. The child care rooms are new and have something for all ages--my kids actually get excited about going. I don't leave my children often, but I feel comfortable at this gym because a majority of the staff are moms. They are great with babies, toddlers, and kids. read more

Awesome place! As far as gyms go, it has everything. From personal trainers to a huge pool with dry and wet saunas, everything your looking for is here. The staff is friendly and they have a nice towel service. They love to give you free things too. They always have a coffee machine ready and sometimes other companies come in and give out free samples of their products (sunscreen, food etc) The gym itself can be crowded at times but it's a big gym so I almost never have to wait. They got a nice basketball court and volley happens their every week as well. Best part is, they are 24/7 during the week! I just wish they had a better price for students. I wanted to stay here but it just cost me too much time and money. But compliments to the staff. They are always so welcoming. read more

By far the best location of them all. This is the perfect gym for my family and I. My only issue is the fact that this location is leaps and bounds better than the others. I understand that size matters, no pun intended, but quality of equipment selection should not. This location pretty much has at least two of most everything and the other locations not so much. Brick Bodies is one of the best gyms I have ever used. The Pros: A huge, well maintained space, multiple banks of treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, etc. resulting in no waiting, multiple class choices, frequent new programs and workout options, excellent, highly trained and welcoming instructors, no attitude clientele, a warm towel upon arrival, free coffee machine, ample locker rooms with hair dryers, showers, pristine pool: everything very clean and well kept. Minor Cons: It would be nice to know when there is a change of an instructor. Substitute instructors are not listed on the app, web site or posted at the front desk. Parking during prime time may be a bit of a problem, even though the parking lot is huge. That said, one will always find a space, maybe not as close to the door as one would prefer. Although many classes are crowded it doesn't seem to effect anyone's participation. There is good energy even in crowded classes. I have never been disappointed in any class or with any instructor. I was a member of this gym for 11 years. After ten years they decided to increase my membership dues with no warning. I called and tried to cancel the membership. They didn't cancel it. I also sent an email to cancel, but I didn't give enough information. So when I called to find out why it wasn't cancelled and to see if they could cancel it effective of the day I sent the email and refund me the money they took out of the account they refused. The gym itself it nice, I usually go after peek hours so I do not experience the rush like everyone else. Some of the personal trainers are nice, I worked with Dylan in particular until I had an emergency situation that caused me to have to but my lessons on pause. I love the body flow and body pump classes, I usually take those 2-3 times a week. Great classes for flexibility and toning. Now my biggest problem isn't with the faculty but with the staff as far as billing is concerned. I was once late with a payment and the front desk staff was very helpful in fixing the situation for me. But I talked to the woman Laurie in billing over the phone and she was very rude, and brushed me off as if she didn't want to be bothered with me and my situation. When I first signed up for the gym there was a certain free week promo, I never received that. I didn't make a big deal of it because I just assumed I would be credit that near the end of my contract. Also I inquired about an corporate discount through my place of employment and no one still to this day (6 months later) has answered me about that. Again, I didn't make a big deal because it's only 21.99 every two weeks. Then in the last week, Brick Bodies has taken $99 in unauthorized charges for personal training sessions, that I canceled 10 days in advance and biweekly payment. I spoke to someone at the Padonia location about the PT sessions I was charged for (that charged happened first) and the woman was more than willing to help me with the situation. (her name slips me, but she was really sweet and helpful. Blonde/brown hair, small frame and glasses) I was told that the refund was in process. Then that Monday another 26.99 was taken out my account for a "pass due" balance that I was already caught up on. I spoke to Valerie from their corporate office, I also emailed her about the issue. She told me it would be refunded to be, but that was a lie. The charge was posted to my bank account and I went to the Padonia gym to speak to someone about it. Again Laurie, she didn't want to pull and research my account about the charge. She brushed off my concerned about my money and then told me I owed 5.00, which was a late fee waived the week before from the nice woman mentioned in the paragraph above. So now, I am out $100 dollars, being shuffled from the billing department at the gym to the billing department at the corporate office and back again. As much as I enjoy this facility it's not worth all this annoyance for unauthorized charges. There are at least two cheaper gyms in the area, and I have no problem with taking my business there if someone at Brick Bodies doesn't want to help me. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews but I am very frustrated with customer service at this place. I had a satisfactory experience with this gym while I was using it but when I moved and wanted to cancel my membership it all went downhill. I was told to bring the proof of change of address which I did, the employee made a copy of it, informed me that there would be an early termination fee, I completed the paperwork they wanted me to complete, and I trusted that they would stop my payments at the end of the month like they promised. I guess my mistake was trusting that they would do their job. This was back in June. Fast-forward four months later I just discovered that they are still billing my account. After repeated calls to speak to the manager I was able to get hold of the assistant manager who said there was a record of me speaking to them in June but no further record of termination. She said she'll get back to me by the end of the week but that didn't happen. I tried calling again and again no word. I emailed their billing supervisor and never heard back. So I'm just sitting here waiting to hear back from someone about resolving this issue. They are real quick about signing you up for membership but when it comes to other customer service issues they are completely lacking. I wouldn't recommend my experience to anyone, so disappointing. Update: After I wrote this review things started moving - the management contacted me and processed my request. They were able to give me the refund for the months that I was not a member and in that sense I am satisfied. I gave 3 stars because I had to go through this process at all when it should have been over back in June. read more

Update Review: After about a year off I decided to go back and start new membership. Likely my last though because I live too far and I'm not working as much in Baltimore anymore. Since I've returned I wanted to share an updated review. I find parking to be much easier now and less stressful. Major plus! Front desk staff are polite and usually a few people there during peak times to keep members from waiting. Men's lockeroom has been kept much cleaner. Wi-Fi signal is usually pretty good with the exception in the dry sauna which is no biggie. Here's something's I'm not a fan of... Rope pulls to connect for tricep pull downs are so worn with threading coming undone. Seriously needs replacing. Too often it seems like a stairmaster is out of commission for several days. They are already limited as is some days so it can be a bit of an inconvenience when you really want that machine. Too often members take up lockers without locking up their belongings. It gives the impression the locker is available. There's been at least two occasions where I opened three lockers in a row and each had someone's stuff inside. Some day's I'd like to shoot around the basketball, but people are occupying full court. Perhaps there should be set hours for that kinda stuff as the game can last a while. It is also I bummer that if you have to arrive later at night the dry sauna is turned off for cleaning. I get its gotta be cleaned, but why not just get it done and turn it on. That kind of Men's Locker Room amenity should be available anytime except for a small widow for cleaning. There's been times where close to my cardio machine cleaning stations are either out of paper towel or it's jammed. I think more routine checks by staff would remedy this issue. Overall, I'm glad to be working out again. I like the gym and have. I know where everything is and it's a pretty relaxed environment. Just wish something's they can control were better. read more

After frequent use of this gym, my review needed a re-do! This is the BRIGHT SHINY GYM OF THE FUTURE!! Flat screen TVs everywhere, computer-touch screen gym guides, lots of shiny hardwood, slick slate walls, fancy funky lighting- you feel like you're working out in a techno-palace of a cutting edge sci-fi movie. The locker rooms are, no joke, works of art in and of themselves. It's hard to believe this place is CHEAPER than the next best gym in town- the MAC. But this place makes the MAC look cheap and dowdy. But there is more than just good looks here. Far more machines, and all the latest and most up to date, than any gym I've ever been in. The gym floor is VAST- like an aircraft hanger- chock full of equipment- Stair climbers, eillipticals, ARC trainiers, treadmills, bikes, free weights, weight machines, etc. etc. They also have a full basket ball court, a boxing area, yoga room, spinning room, aerobics room room, and even a full time physical therapist on staff. Then- the aquatics. A beautiful hot tub with a scenic view of woods, a hot therapy pool, and a nice 6-lane pool. Sure, there is some chlorine- but I've never been bothered by it, neither has my wife who's the real swimmer. Then there is the steam room-- hot, steamy, and like being inside a spaceship- it's an odd plastic module, but it works, and I've not had water around my feet. In each palatial locker room (with multi TVs, did I add) is a huge sauna-- they rock! Fine scent of cedar, nice toasty 180 degrees, gets the sweat right out of you. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at peak times- but if you're willing too park on side lot, you'll get a spot. Machines- usually a breeze. On peak times, I've occasionally had to wait - but rarely more than 2 minutes, amazingly enough. Just enough time to say, "Oh, crap, maybe this place is getting too crowded..."- then- bam!- a machine opens up! And folks of all races, ages, and fitness levels are present- no one need feel uncomfortable. And I've been running into friendly regulars, as well as fellow former MAC members- it's becoming a friendly place on top of Gym of the Uberman Future. The free fresh ground coffee and espresso are a nice touch, too. As is awesome kid's room. So--- I am lying. This place sucks. STAY AWAY!!! This Brick Bodies location is very dated, and has a "men's locker room" ambiance, with as many cardio machines jammed into a small space as possible. The women's locker room even has carpeted toilets (the floors). Overall, not terrible--staff are nice-- really needs a facelift. read more

First - be advised, you will be told that you can join for $26.50. That is a bi-weekly rate - not a monthly rate. After finding out that the fee was increasing, I immediately terminated my membership. It took many weeks for them to stop billing my credit card. They said only that my July 12th bill was the last one; they claim to have no record of when I actually terminated my membership. By the way, don't expect to swim unless you are taking classes in the pool. read more

Very good value for the price (about $45 a month if you waive pool access). It is large and well maintained, and I never have to wait to use any equipment. I particularly like the boxing room set up with about 16 punching bags, TRX equipment, pull up bars, boxing gloves, and kettle bells. The basketball court is really nice as well. This is a solid gym. I was at first scared off by the commercial feel and look. I have been a member at numerous gyms over the past ten years ( I have moved five times in ten years over three states) and I give this gym a four in comparison. Pros- clean, lots of classes, free coffee and towel service, good hours. Cons- can get very crowded between five and eight pm. There are times when I have to wait to use a machine or rack. They only have two free standing squat racks! That's my only gripe. I am fairly happy here and the membership price is lower than most others in the area. read more

I have been coming to BB for 3 months now and I couldn't be happier! The space is incredible and the equipment is the best I've ever used. But most of all the people are great! From the staff to the other gym members, I have found nothing but friendly faces. My trainer, Tim, is phenomenal. He pushes me when I need to be pushed and he is always professional. Another thing I found incredible about the gym is the management. One day, (not to be gross), I noticed a booger on the wall in one of the women's changing rooms; the next day I saw Vicki herself in that changing room cleaning it! That is unheard of in most other establishments. Way to go BB team! I will be a lifetime member! read more

I love this gym. I have been an avid gym goer for years and this has been my favorite by far! The membership is very inexpensive and you get your money's worth at BB Padonia. The towel service is included which I'm a huge fan of, and you never have to worry about forgetting a towel. I still prefer to bring my own for showering but it's nice to have a clean bleached white towel for working out. This gym is also extremely clean, they always have an employee doing a walk thru in the ladies locker room. I mainly used the cardio/weights/stretching areas and did my own workouts but I also enjoyed the yoga classes, they offer a variety to choose from. There are a great group of personal trainers to choose from, I personally don't have the money to hire one but I know if I did I would be in good hands. I only cancelled my membership due to my relocation to another state. I can't find anything that compares to this gym. read more

Excellent value overall. We have access to all of the locations and the pool at Padonia. The Padonia gym is incredible and has many cardio machines and numerous flat benches for free weights. The bathrooms are gorgeous and well-maintained (although the place is new). I love the free coffee/espresso, too! read more

I belonged to Brick Bodies Padonia for a year. I joined because I heard great feedback about their classes. I canceled my membership and now only go to boutique fitness studios. Here's my assessment of Brick Bodies: Pros: -variety of classes -new gym compared to the other BBs in the area Cons: -poor customer service. I also submitted a a survey a while back. I was contacted by the club and rather than being more accomodating with feedback, they were very defensive. They made none of the changes I requested. -cleaniness. It's disgusting that mats are put back without being wiped down. Every other studio in the area - barre, yoga, cycle - has members wipe down their mats before returning. It's common practice and common courtesy. -class times. if they spread out the class times (i.e. put 15 minutes between classes rather than back to back or 5 minute gaps), then there would be more of a focus on having time to clean up in between classes -they charge extra for barre classes whereas other places offer this included in the membership price -my favorite cycle classes are on inconvenient times for those of us who work traditional 8:30-5 business hours. I requested additional times and never heard anything back. I now only go to boutique fitness studios and am much happier. Brick Bodies is good for machines and the pool, but you should expect a sub optimal experience if you're used to higher end classes. read more

Been working out with This gym for for over a year. This gym is very nice it is kept clean and well lit. Machines are kept in good shape they also provide towels. The staff is very helpful they have a lot of different classes. The pool is very large and I always have an opportunity to swim read more

Cons are do not asked detailed questions as prospective new clients because you will get insulted. Padonia Brick Bodies virtual tour online is very detailed along with the schedules but you MUST UNDERSTAND the schedules PERTAIN TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS. STAFF MEMBERS ARE ALLOW TO SAY ..."YOU MUST BE CONFUSE... Hmmm, what a lasting first impression. You will not get advice from personal trainers about how to properly use the equipment unless you sign a contract first...I did not get that kind of treatment from any fitness gym until I and my associated experienced it on 08 /16/2013. read more

I am thankful that the gym is a very awesome gym to go to, and the people that go there are really nice, and the trainers are very friendly. I am thankful that everyone does their business at the gym, and it is a great family place to go to for everyone. I am thankful that all the workers do a great job making sure the gym is clean, and make sure to go there when you can, and the equipment is really amazing. Highly recommend the gym! read more
