I recently moved to the Cockeysville area and was looking for a new gym since there aren't any LA Fitness locations nearby. I decided to check out Anytime Fitness, and I'm so glad I did. From the start, the staff has been incredibly welcoming. Hannah gave me a full tour and took the time to explain how everything works, which made the transition to a new gym super easy. Jerrod has also been extremely helpful and friendly whenever I've needed anything. The gym itself is very clean, well-maintained, and never feels overcrowded, which I really appreciate. It has everything I need without feeling overwhelming. If you're new to the area or just looking for a friendly, low-stress gym environment, I definitely recommend this Anytime Fitness. read more

If you're looking for something like Merritt or Crunch that has a ton of equipment, then this is not the place for you. Anytime aren't designed to be these huge Mecca's of iron. They have just about everything you need without all the craziness of a large gym. The staff is extremely nice and they take care of their equipment. I've been a member of Anytime for over 8 years and I'll continue being a member due to convenience. The key fob actually works at all their locations after the initial wait period which is what I need. This gym isn't for everyone and that's ok. I personally love that it's not packed at peak hours and that you have flexibility to roll in at 2am on a Saturday if you want to. Check them out and see what it's all about. read more

My son who was 17 at the time called them and canceled over the phone with them we had moved so couldn't go in person but they've continued to charge us for months and they went after my son wanting $600 from him for months he hadn stepp foot after cancellatiom. i spent an hour on the phone with the owner explaining my son was a minor and he thought the cancellation on the phone was enough, but the owner was so crue and di budge he wanted the money for all those months my son didn't use. it was disgusting, to this day when i think of this place i get sick. Going after a minor like that and not accepting his phone cancellation not eve agreeing to work with us on a middle way. They were ruthless. They're still calling my son af 2 years trying to get that money. these people are not human, they're monsters and their gym sucks btw. probably why they're trying to make money like move (sorry this' was meant for the Fullton branch) read more

I love, love , love love the Towson location. Not only is the location convenient , clean, non-crowded, great equipment and most importantly, "AFFORDABLE." The trainer's were very pleasant and helpful. So imagine my heartbreak that this location would be closing. I plan to transfer in hopes to have the same experience at another location. First things first, in the era of COVID-19 this gym stands out with the cleaning and precautions they are taking in order to ensure the health of their members. They are far superior compared to other gyms. Overall, this gym is great! Really kind staff and a great manager. Cleanest gym I've ever been to. Fully loaded and has everything you need for proper and elaborate strength training. PLENTY of cardio equipment. They offer personal training, nutrition plans, and group classes at a very reasonable price compared to other gyms or studios. The flexibility and options at this gym ensures that your workouts are always changing and fun. I have been a member at many different gyms and this is by far the best one that I have been a member of. read more

If you want clean, well maintained equipment, a friendly staff, and convenience, then this is the place for you! I work out here mostly in the morning, have plenty of available space to do my thing, whether its cardio, weights, flexibility or stretching. The music is pretty killer, the vibe is as chill as you want it to be, Melissa and Kenzie are super friendly, and there is a nice mix of machine and free weights. The group fitness room is pretty neat too. When there isn't classes, you can do your own thing, whether its floor work, calisthenics, yoga or cardio bikes. There's a pretty interesting rope climbing machine I've never seen anywhere else (and I've belonged to a lot of gyms) and a punching bag! (Great on Fridays!) All in all, a top notch facility and a great experience. read more

This is a nice, friendly and personal gym. The facilities are clean and exercise equipment offers anything you could need for training. I primarily came for the morning classes. Their small group and personal training program has expanded. The trainers are knowledgeable. I particularly enjoy the Zumba classes because everyone sings and has fun while still getting an excellent aerobic workout. Give it a try read more

Mediocre gym limited equipment. Brilliant design 3 toilets two are with showers so you'll wait in line. Showers are private stalls so often people use them to do all their personal grooming and leave all the evidence behind. 3 Personal trainer offices not in use 99% of the day which could be better used for showers and bathrooms. For $36 a month I say join Merritt Athletic they are $3 more with 3x the equipment bigger space and lots of showers. Can't wait for my contract to expire read more

My co-worker just signed up for a free 2 weeks and mentioned this location was close to the office. I have been working out at Merritt in Cranbrook and sick of the broken equipment and outdated equipment at double the monthly price. Walked in and Michael Pennewell greeted me right away. Sign up literally took 4 min and I was ready go . No bs or wasted time. The gym is quite ,clean and has brand new equipment. It is impossible to make everyone happy these days but for someone who has tried out all the gyms in the area ..this is the best bang for your buck. read more

I'm thoroughly impressed with this gym. Great, helpful, and super friendly staff. Whether you're a jogger, weightlifter, yoga practitioner, contortionist, professional hula-hooper, or any other sort of athlete, this gym has what you need. The 24 hour access is great, too. It's never too busy, even during peak hours, which makes for a comfortable environment. Only issue is that there is only one squat rack, which also serves as the only area to bench press with a free-weight barbell. It can get a little crowded some times at the rack. Just one more power rack would make this a definite 5 star gym. Also, I have to mention that this gym is always spotless. Definitely the cleanest gym I've been to. The individual showers are great, too. I would recommend this gym to anyone. read more

I have never before commented on any Yelp businesses -- no restaurant or any type of retail concern -- because I use Yelp just as a first step before spending my money. I trust my judgement and intuitive abilities to guide my decisions. Usually that's enough, but if I'm still unsure at that point, I simply get in my car and visit, and then my positive expectations or any negative issues are quickly resolved. As one of the first customers signed up at Anytime Fitness when they opened last fall, and as someone who has been attending the facility religiously 5-7 days a week since, I was appalled when I read the 1- Star review posted by a "Stacey L." I'm not a cancer survivor. I'm simply someone who was out of shape, and other areas gyms were not going it for me. For a variety of reasons, I either did not renew my membership, or even walked away from it, because the facility was just not for me. That all changed when I entered Anytime Fitness, responding to an Inaugural Ad in the Towson Times last fall. My rating is 5-stars. I don't know, nor do I care to know, this "Stacey L." Please read my review below, and visit if you wish, and then decide -- are you going to trust "Stacey L" or your lying eyes? I challenge anyone to visit the location during the hours that it is staffed by their managers or their trainers, and not come away with a 5-star rating. (by the way, that's the only time you'll be able to enter, for their security system and those "hidden cameras" will deny you entry, and with good reason--they are there for customer protection. In the case of this "Stacey L," I might just say "consider the source," then come visit, and you be the judge. I won't be surprised if you too sign up on the spot. Keep in mind that I have been a member of several of the area fitness centers, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT YOU WILL NOT (REPEAT--WILL NOT) FIND AT THIS CENTER: 1. Dirty equipment 2. Broken equipment 3. A giant "mill" environment 4. Bathrooms like public baths in foreign countries 5. High-pressure salespeople looking to lock you in to costly long-term agreements. 6. People congregating furtively for long periods of time in corners of the facility, then going out to their cars, and taking little bags back and forth, going out for short drives, then returning. All day long! What could they be doing?????? 7. People who are victims of the war on steroids, hostile, aggressive, over-developed freakazoids. WHAT YOU'LL FIND ARE: 1. Clean machines that work, and are new. 2. A wide variety of machinery -- more than I'd ever use 3. A warm and cozy environment 4. Fresh-smelling bathrooms that are cleaned head to toe at least daily 5. Staff and trainers who are friendly, supportive, and there to assist you. 6. A wonderful clientele of people that are friendly. Many join the plentiful free classes that are scheduled during the week. They include Barre Fusion, TRX Body Blast, Stretch and Vinyasa Yoga, and Zumba. And for those who prefer, there is a library of fitness videos "on demand" that you can tap into for any of your favorite exercise regimens ( Pilates, Core, weights, Barre, etc.). What I consider to be Features & Benefits ( and not "negative" items as mentioned by "Stacey L") include: 1. The owner and his wife are very nice, friendly, and very concerned about the image and clientele they wish to have. They know how they want training in their facility to be conducted, so if it's not to a patron's liking, then they will say so. 2. The "eye in the sky" comment -- in any college campus or business staying open 24 hours a day -- this is called an ASSET not a negative. Particularly for women patrons. If anyone comes in during non-peak hours, it's particularly reassuring to know that the premises are under surveillance. It may curtail a variety of illegal activities from happening, and where I'm from, that's called a "good thing." 3. I take particular umbrage to the diatribe against my trainer, who is a beautiful young woman, whose hair is combed and to me always appears freshly washed. However, when she is working as a fitness trainer, she doesn't strip down to unnecessary minimal clothing to highlight her body. I'm sure she has a fine body, but it's not on display to the clientele while she's working. This is a business, not a Ms. Steroid Competition. She provides excellent instruction, and I've had incredible progress working with her. So you decide. If you are looking for a smaller new clean environment, with 24 hour a day accessibility, with skilled helpers should you require them, and without outside trainers bringing in their own clients, then this place is for you. I joined AF last year after canceling my Brick Bodies membership. I have worked out consistently for many years and have been a member at too many gyms to count. I rate AF - particularly this location on aylesbury road- as one of the best. It depends on what your expectations are and the type of equipment you are in need of. I am in my late 30's now and my main expectation that I have of my gym is that it be a peaceful, stress free environment. The main reason I had for leaving Brick's was that I could not even find a parking space on the weekends or between 4-8 pm at night weekdays. Finding a locker or piece of equipment not in use was challenging. I would also like to comment on the other reviewer's complaint that you are being watched by cameras. This business is not staffed and is open 24 hours. They absolutely have to monitor the camera footage at times to keep abreast of any liabilities or threats to their members' safety. If they didn't do this, they would be negligent and putting their business and members at risk. I really enjoy being a member at this gym and appreciate the nice job they do with cleanliness and just being supportive in general. read more

Been going on a free trial for two days now. 24/7 access is simple and effective. Cost is around $40 a month, but only sold as a yearly membership. Decent variety in machines, but, due to the size, you may have to wait your turn more often than other gyms. That said, when we've gone later in the night (after 10) the place has been pretty much empty. Good security/safety features for those of ya' that might be worried about that; little lifealert style tags and then a general panic button. Two homestyle, private bathrooms. No locking lockers. Fancy treadmills have built-in doo-dads and what not. One thing that is needed, though perhaps a liability, is a climbing rope/ wall. Too high of ceilings not to make use of them. And more mirrors would be a plus. It's often hard to check your form in a mirror, as only one wall is mirrored. Vending machines could be nice, but the water fountain does do the trick. Overall, I would definitely recommend you go for the free week; it's a well stocked, CLEAN, 24/7 gym. What more ya' need? One last bit, be warned, on the treadmill you'll be staring right across at the Nautilus diner, which personally is a killer 'cause of their 24/7 breakfast/dessert menu.... read more

I'm actually sitting here in the empty multipurpose room stretching as I type this out. It's 1.30pm and it's quiet which I love, because it means I have the squat rack all to myself. For such a tiny gym, it is remarkably well-equipped, with several TRX bands and even battle ropes, and bumper plates, which the gym I go to in Manhattan lacks. The staff is really friendly, and let me drop weights too. I really wish they had branches in Manhattan, but for now I'll have to settle for being here for a short trial :( it does feel like it'd get really packed during peak hours though, so you've been warned! read more

I love this gym. I have belonged to several different gyms, and by far this is my favorite gym. It is just a great atmosphere. I love that it is always open and when I go even if it is not during staffed hours, I always feel safe with all the safety features they have in place. It is clean and the equipment is great. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to make it a great experience. The trainer is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable, helpful and her classes are the best. It doesn't matter what your fitness level is at the beginning, she will make you feel comfortable and not intimidated to participate. I cannot recommend this gym enough! read more

My first impression is what has held true; a sort of what-you-see-is-what-you-get. The place is clean, and adding to that are patrons who mostly wipe down equipment even when they're nearly the only people there. The equipment is well organized, and for a small gym, I haven't found myself wanting for anything. In fact, there's a piece or two there I've never seen at other gyms, and I've belonged to many gyms in the area over my life, all of them more pricey and "prestigious" than this. The TVs are always tuned to a variety of programs to appeal to everyone. The music is more hit-or-miss. Sometimes it works for me, other times, you can tell that someone just came in, put on their style with disregard to anyone else. Oh well. My only con about this place is the lack of presence. I do not feel comfortable going by myself, regardless of the million cameras around, and even when it is staffed. And this is my sticking point. I'm happy to tailor my visits around staffed hours, but during staffed hours, the office door is closed more often than not. There is no telling if anyone is there, and that doesn't bring me any increased level of comfort, especially when the back door is often propped open, allowing anyone to come in. read more
