Every shoe here is amazing. They have catalog Alden shoes, AND their own styles!

First let me say to all who come to, live in, or plan to visit Seattle, that this place is one in a million. You walk into shoe heaven when you enter this quaint, perfectly styled, and fresh location of Brick + Mortar! This is the Alden shoe shop of your and my dreams. I walked about eight blocks (of Seattle's crazy hill downtown) in order to visit, and I would have climbed five times that once I saw all Yenni had. Yenni is the owner, and she is an absolute gem to work with. She was able to explain her store, concept, and reason for everything she was doing! I was treated kindly and courteously even though I was in my vacation basics (shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops). Many stores of such a caliber would have been cold and rude. I was so pleased that Yenni didn't even blink, and treated me like a king from beginning to end. She gave me space at the right time to examine the shoes, and was always right there to answer questions. She sized me and proceeded to search her stock for shoes in my size. She began bringing out shoes she loved, and quickly built a selection based on my responses. Yenni curates this shop so wonderfully. She has Alden shoes from the catalog, and a huge selection shell cordovan! You can almost never find someone who carries such a wide variety of Alden's, and especially the shell cordovan. This isn't even the best part though!! Yenni is licensed to DESIGN her own collection through Alden, and they are stamped with the Brick + Mortar name inside as well. A chance to own a one of a kind masterpiece made by Alden and designed by Yenni! I was so excited about this I purchased the shell cordovan shoes I had been wanting, and returned the next day for a special pair designed by Yenni. Seattle is so lucky to have this shop in their city, and I was so incredibly lucky to stumble upon it. If you are in town, and want to experience the best shoes money can buy then take a walk in this shop. It really speaks volumes when the designer and store owner herself is such an amazing person, and so helpful at every level. I will be returning to this shop every time I'm in Seattle, and I have already followed Brick + Mortar on all social media platforms. Her spring line is going to be incredible, and it will be another fantastic shoe I add to my collection. Thank you Yenni for all you do, and to everyone reading... support this amazing one of a kind place!!

I had purchased one pair of Alden shoes from Leffot in Chicago and the rest online from the secondary market.

Baleen is one of my favorite shops in Seattle to buy handmade jewelry! I've been here multiple…read moretimes and my jewelry is still going strong, even in the shower. The jewelry is sold at a very reasonable price. They also sell products from other brands, like Baggu and Chunks, to name a couple. The staff is also very friendly and you can try on most of the jewelry before committing.

I had an awful experience and am pretty upset about it. Don't order online from them. They jam your…read moreentire order, no matter the value, into a single USPS package, which is only insured for up to $100, and with their brand plastered on the outside, making it a target for mail theft but impossible to be fully reimbursed for if/when the contents get stolen. After a number of emails back and forth, they were not able to send me the original mailing receipt which is required to file a claim with USPS, so it seems unlikely I'll get anything from the claim anyways. They even gave me a "tip" that I should look into getting a secure mailbox, as if that would prevent an empty box from being delivered in the first place. In the end, I spent $140 for a box with nothing more than tissue paper and promotional material. Oh, did I mention they generously offered to send me the products again if I pay 60% more than I already paid? Thanks, but definitely not going to throw more money in your direction only to lose it again. Update: Just to clarify, this is not a case of mailbox theft...I was physically delivered an empty box by the carrier. There is always risk involved with shipping, and as the shipper, it's your responsibility to ship in a way that reasonably reduces risk and puts shipping liability on the carrier. Since you put more than $100 of your product in a box that's only covered for up to $100, you put the risk on the customer. I can't possibly be refunded now. You also could have reduced risk within reason by not advertising on the outside of the box that there is jewelry inside.
