    Thicker crust

Good fresh pizza. Ordered 2 large cheese pizzas, and they were completely different. One was thin crust and crunchy crust, while the other was much thicker and doughier.

Come hide away on a spacious tree-lined deck with rustic decor and waitstaff in traditional German dress! Live music, pizza, wings!

Outstanding service, rustic and romantic decor, great pizza and draft beer!! Cypress patio & Biergarten is a great spot for large groups or date night. Take a relaxing drive, you will be surprised that this gem is hidden away on 17-A.

It took some detective work to figure out their current menu offerings online, but we managed and called in our order about 30 minutes before we went to pick it up. When I arrived, I paid and my food was hot and ready to go. They asked if I wanted red pepper and parmesan to go and they were very friendly and joked with me while I was there. I went ahead and took some photos of their current menu (as of 8/28/23) so folks can see what they've got going on. We were there right at the tail end of the season, so it wasn't super crowded and they were only doing takeout. We got a regular greek salad, a large pepperoni, and a large Ruth's White pizza. We split it between 2 kids and 3 adults and still had leftovers the next day. It's definitely a little pricey compared to the quality, but we enjoyed it for what it was, as long as you like really thin crust.

However, the general quality of the pizza seemed worse? Just look at the poorly crafted crust! Also, the pizza seemed much thinner...and undercooked!! They only have 2 sizes - medium and large, but the medium is quite small. Worst part is just how ridiculously expensive they are. Over 17 bucks (with tax) for a medium (VERY small medium!) Pepperoni?!? For that amount, you should get a very nicely prepared/presented pie...but nope! Honestly, if these pizzas were priced reasonably (for instance, no more than $13-14 with tax for the medium - really, equivalent to a small pizza!), I could have rated higher. Otherwise, I can't help but feel ripped off. I will say, however, that the service was good. The cashier was quite friendly. Sadly, this is the only decent pizza joint on this island, I can only hope that the quality goes up to match its outlandish pricing. In fact, on my next order, I'll be sure to check the pie presentation (or any reduction in pricing...but not holding my breath), and see if there has been any improvement...and I'll be happy to upgrade the review accordingly!

The green salad was so well balanced with a herby perfect dressing and my daughter and I shared a small to start. We also shared 2 small pizzas that were outstanding! We devoured both the Notorious FIG and the Knockout-the flavors were complex, and the crust was thin, crisp and perfect. Now back at our house we are debating going back for more. Right now. Service was excellent. Those folks are busy! Yet everyone seemed to work seamlessly together and always with a smile. Be good to yourself and go there. Order more than seems reasonable. Don't thank me-thank the wonderful staff and enjoy!

On my most recent visit I arrived early and sat right by the pickup counter so I wouldn't miss my order. I watched my pizza sit on the counter for about 12 minutes without anyone calling a name. Eventually I walked up and asked if it was mine, and sure enough it was. By the time I got it, the pizza had probably been sitting there close to 20 minutes, so it was cold again. When I mentioned it, the employee said they had called my name, which simply isn't true because I was sitting right there the entire time and never heard anything. What makes this even harder to understand is the price. A large pizza there runs about $27, and it's a very thin pizza. At that price you'd expect hot food and at least a little attention to making sure customers actually get their order when it's ready. Cold pizza twice in a row at that price point is disappointing.

They do offer a military discount, which was a nice bonus, and you can purchase food throughout the park to feed different animals. My daughter's favorite part was getting to feed the monkeys -- such a fun hands-on experience for kids. There are so many opportunities to interact with the animals up close and really enjoy the experience. The Siberian tigers were HUGE and absolutely beautiful. They also had giraffes and so many other animals that we honestly didn't even get to see everything in one trip, so we'll definitely be back. They also offer a truck tour around the property, plus there's a playground area for the kids to enjoy. It does get pretty crowded, so I definitely recommend going early, but parking was plentiful. If you have children and you're looking for a fun family-friendly experience near Charleston, I highly recommend checking out Bee City Zoo.

We didn't necessarily come in chasing the local-favorite pistachio pesto pizza, but unfortunately for our future cravings, there is a reason people talk about it. That pizza was ridiculous in the best way. The crust, which is AMAZING, had those blistered, chewy edges that make you immediately respect the dough, and the pistachio pesto was rich, nutty, and glossy without turning the whole thing into a heavy cheese situation. Every slice felt like it had a little extra personality. We sat where we could see the pizza being made, which is both charming and mildly torturous when you're hungry. Dough, toppings, oven, waiting. A tiny drama in four acts. The wood-fired oven was doing the kind of work that made me wonder why we waited years to show up. The place itself feels like a real neighborhood pizza spot: worn wood tables, red and golden walls, local art, chalkboard beer list, and enough character that even the bathroom wanted to be part of the review. I'm honestly sad we waited this long. EVO has clearly been over here doing its thing, and we were just late to the party.
