To look at this place , you would think that it was a hole in the wall... Walk in and you find out that you are in a true gem of a place. The two young gentlemen at the front were very courteous and never stopped cleaning and moving around that place to make sure that they were definitely earning their money. I am taking a star away due to attitude. See the receipt, it shows two coffees yet the wife is the only one that had coffee and thought she could get a refill. She did but it was charged as a second cup. After talking with the server and the manager there was no change. Had they taken one off I'd go back, but guess what, they are never going to see us again. Now the seafood combo was awesome as well as the shrimp fettuccine. The Garlic knots were also some of the best ever. All this doesn't matter as to their attitude. You all make your own choices but buyer beware. read more

The food is great but the staff is WEIRD! I've been twice to grab pickup that I ordered online and the two girls at the pay counter are so off in their little world they barely say two words. And the staff making the pizzas I swear both times I've gone in there I've felt uncomfortable with the way everyone just stands around and looks at you like they are waiting for you to say something??? When you walk into this little tiny hole in the wall that you wouldn't know was here unless someone told you, you are hit with the most aromatic smell of delicious fresh pizza dough - slightly sweet with a hint of flour- The price point is ridiculous for the size portion you get! I split the original Stromboli with my mom, along with their house salad and the most delectable cannoli for under $35!! - say whaaaaa.. we have leftovers for dayzzzzz!!! This place has fallen very far from what it used to be 5-6 years ago when the original owner was there. First thing you notice is the portion size has gotten very small while the prices have gone up dramatically. We often get the spaghetti plate, meatballs Stromboli, and an anti-pasta salad all the time and over the years I've noticed that the salad is less and less, the mozzarella cheese in the center used to be a big chunk, now it's a small portion. We could eat several days on a large Stromboli but now you can finish it in one meal. Tonight we ordered just the Hawaii pie-O large Stromboli and salad and it's was so disappointing. The ends of the Stromboli didn't have any pineapple and we ate about half and finally found one. The price they charged me was $19 for the Stromboli and $9 for the salad. We don't eat at the restaurant anymore because you don't get the good focaccia bread with the meal and the drinks are too expensive. When I was leaving the restaurant, they added a new menu to my box and when I got home, the price for a Hawaii Pie-O large was listed at $17 not $19. When I called the store they said it was a misprint and they need to change the menu to match what the register showed, and this was either the manager or store owner. They just said sorry and sat with that. How can I expect the rest of the menu to be true if a new menu is wrong. Yup, last time we will be here. read more

We have been in for table service, and even though everything looked appetizing, we can't seem to order anything but the pizza and antipasto, which by the way was very good. The food that we ordered was good. But the service was not. First time there the lady just seemed off. So I asked what time you close. Shesaid 9, it's 8:30 so I figured that was the reason for the attitude. But another very friendly waitress comes and says the dining room closes up but you're fine. Ok great. Second time there we brought a vip from out of town. It was 8:20 and the kid had to go back and ask about seating us. There was a sign with no seating after 8:30. Why does he have to ask when it wasn't 8:30. So he comes back and says we have to order in ten minutes after we sit down. In other words we have to order by 8:30. We were like wow really. Ok it's your restaurant fine. We ordered to go since the hotel our vip was staying at was close. The young guy in back taking orders was nice and told us 20 minutes. So standing there by the door another group comes in it's 8:27 and the kid looked so lost and went to back again come back and said you have to order in three minutes and they spoke Spanish and said let's go forget it. So funny to me how the service is so weird. Place is clean and good location. But when eating out we pay for being served. And service is crappy to me. OR they are true New Yorkers and don't give a flip about service. You want or you don't. My in-laws are New Yorkers and to them it's normal. read more

This last time my husband ordered the calzone and we were blown away when it came out. The size was huge and extremely delicious. Our service has always been great and quick. I'm from Boston, frequent NYC for work... I know good pizza and Sangaree is hands down the best pizza I've found in South Carolina. Fresh, always perfectly cooked and served by some very friendly people. There are at least 15 pizza places between my house and Sangaree but I always make the drive. Must try the Sicilian. This Italian spot is super fantastic for their affordable dishes and fast service. It's a fast food pizza joint along with good service dining area. They are very popular for delicious food for delivery and carry out. My family and myself decided to eat in and the flavors of the dishes were phenomenal and tasty. Have been a loyal customer since 2018 and the food is usually great with a couple of issues here and there but I always just let it go because they had a great staff and were so friendly. This time around I had ordered a large amount of food and the Stromboli I got had toppings and most cheese missing from a quarter of it. I finally called because I wanted to make it right and they didn't seem interested at all. After some back and forth I was offered $1.50 off based on their logic. It felt like a slap in the face considering the amount of food I ordered and how long I have been a regular. They even seemed reluctant to do that $1.50. I would have even settled for a 10% off of my next order or something like that. They just don't seem at all interested in customer satisfaction. Sorry to say that I won't be buying from them anymore, the quality of food and service has just dipped too low. read more

We've never physically seen this restaurant but had a craving for some Italian food. We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavors and abundance of food. We ordered the fried ravioli to start and this was really good. Not sure if saying that means much since I've only ever had olive gardens fried ravioli but this one was definitely better. Moving on to the spaghetti carbonara. This was OK. The noodles were cooked Al dente and the flavors were there. Some of the bacon in the pasta had a weird texture, almost like a gritty dog treat. The pasta to sauce ratio was perfect. We also ordered the penne vodka. This dish was the star out of everything we ordered. This is one of the best penne vodka I've had in Charleston. It was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. So happy they give you a lot so I have leftovers. My girlfriend also ordered the cheesesteak which she thought was really good. She's a picky eater but they listened to her special requests and made it perfectly. Last comment, my tiramisu was thrown around and tasted very freezer burnt. Our meals were supposed to come with bread. We did not receive any bread which is a bummer because we ordered so much. Small hiccup but will be going back here! I can't help but love this place- solid sauce (and that makes soooo much difference in the taste, amiright?) and even cheese distribution on the 'Za. I've heard people talking about grumpy reception here- but we've never experienced that...always get top quality customer service. Crust is middle of the road- not quiiiiiit NYC style, but not Detroit thick either. Would I say it is the absolute king of pizza? Likely not, but being spoiled brats from the Northeast it's really hard to please us in these parts of the south. read more

This was our 3rd time eating here and it will now be our last. Our waitress Courtney S. today was so unbelievably rude. Eating out has gotten so expensive now that having to pay for such rudeness is so painful. Our waitress talked more to the wait and kitchen staff more than she did to her tables. The table across from us kept looking for her as she would disappear and talk with the other staff constantly. She told us she forgot our garlic knots and when she brought them out they had shrunken drastically from the last time we ate here. She then talked in the back hallway and never brought our salads so when the other gal went to bring our food to the table, she told them to take our hot food back because she hadn't brought our salads yet. She then continued to talk, then finally brought our salads with the wrong dressing and with the ingredients we told her our son couldn't eat. So then she brought out 1 too many salads then yelled you can just have that one for free we won't charge you as she walked away and told the whole restaurant. She then brought out a cheese pizza and when I nicely called "Ma'am"to get her attention, she turned around and glared at me and just stood there. It was SO WEIRD. I motioned for her to come back so I didn't have to yell across the restaurant and tell her that she brought us the wrong pizza because we ordered a pepperoni. She then went to the kitchen to tell them and then yelled to them "you take it out". The whole time the manager with the Fedora hat never came over and just looked at us and he usually comes over to check in when everything's fine. He got off the phone in the kitchen and we could hear him say, "crazy American doesn't need to eat our pizza". Who knows who he was talking to. The food came out and wasn't the hottest because it was sitting in the kitchen while we ate our salads, the correct pizza finally arrived, but then we did need to get up and go ask for the waitress to bring our bread because she forgot that too, when we were almost finished eating. It's a shame. Pretty unbelievable how people can be so rude to paying customers, especially since none of it was our fault and we were never rude to her. I would highly encourage you to skip this place. People say it tastes like New York. We've eaten in New York quite a bit and Italy as well, and this place doesn't come close to either. read more
