We've been coming to this pizzeria since we moved here from NY (4 years ago) because it felt like the closest thing to home--but unfortunately, something has seriously changed. Lately, the service has gone downhill. The hosts are consistently rude and can't seem to take a simple phone order correctly. We've brushed it off before, assuming they were just busy and mistakes happen... but tonight proved otherwise. On a slow night, my husband called in an order for a large pizza, a small calzone, and 10 BBQ wings. I stopped to pick it up on my way home from my son's sick doctor visit, only to be met with attitude the second I walked in--like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. I paid (almost $40), waited, and was handed only the wings and Calzone--no pizza. When I asked about the rest, I was told "this is all I got" while she held up the receipt. Come to find out, the order was wrong to begin with--they had put in a LARGE calzone instead of a small, and completely missed the pizza. So now I have to reorder the pizza and wait--again--with a sick child in the car. After 20 minutes, I finally get the pizza... and it's the wrong size. At that point, the attitude from the employee made the situation even worse. And to top it all off, we get home and the calzone is burnt, and the bottom of the pizza is completely burnt too. This place is not what it used to be, which is really disappointing. It seems like management or something major has changed, because the difference from even a year ago is drastic. Walking in I'm greeted by a no gruff female with a desire to get my order and be done with it (my impression, of course,but verified by watching another couple which came in after me). Nonetheless the pizza rocked. I showed up at lunch so I image the customers who were there were familiar with the place. It was reasonably quiet. We were visiting friends last weekend in Summerville and decided to order pizza for delivery. They suggested King's and after looking over their menu we decided to order to 18' pies. The first was a carnivore and the second was a white pizza which the ladies customized to their liking and included chicken, mushrooms, feta, tomatoes and spinach. We opted to have it delivered via Door Dash since our friends live out of the delivery area. We were quoted a delivery time which was met. When we opened the boxes we were impressed and could immediately see why our friends suggested King's. The pies were huge and the toppings were generous. We immediately dug in and they tasted as good as they looked. We also commented on the dough which was just right. It wasn't too heavy but tasted oh so delicious and cooked perfectly. So very good and we certainly recommend to others. We will also remember this when we are back it town. read more

Again, let me tell all who read this this is a five star eatery! Just last Tuesday nite three of us had more delicious food than we could consume in one sitting. Two of us had the Veal Parmigiana which was fabulous and the wife had Shrimp Linguine which she loves. The service here has always been spot on. Nice bread on the side to soak up the excess. He got 3 meals out of it. Same with my gnocchi in creamy, dreamy, and flavorful vodka sauce with pillowy-soft heavenly bites of gnocchi. I ate my fill twice and gave him a full serving because it was too good not to share! I wanted to try everything and needed some vegetables, so I ordered the house salad and fried mushrooms. Got a Caesar salad side and because we're insane, an entire pizza! Salads were fresh and crunchy, dressings were good. Fried mushrooms were as expected. The light marinara was good for dipping. The pizza was great, with crispy crust-bubbles. This place could stand up to any of our local pizza joints. I don't want to underdescribe the pizza, it's just the entrées were so genuine and made with such heart, they feel like Nonna's hug in a warm, steamy kitchen. In Nexton Del Webb, our Facebook page is the place to go for advice on pretty much everything. Inevitably, 'Best Pizza' is always a rabid topic. One place mentioned more than a few times was this one. So we gave it a try one recent Saturday night. Let me tell you, the applause was very well deserved. We dined in and were seated right away. The waitress was fantastic: friendly, quick with her service, and seemed not the least bit phased by the big Saturday-night crowd. On our menu (because we knew we'd be taking food home) were mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken parm, and 'The Works' pizza. Everything came to our table super Quick, fresh and hot, and was incredibly delicious. South Carolina is booming, and the Nexton community in Summerville (near Charleston) is growing exponentially. Scrumptious pizza and Italian food. Great for takeout or dine in, plenty of seating and family friendly. I ate eggplant parmigiana for dinner, then leftovers for breakfast and lunch the next day! It was Just that good, I couldn't resist. Meanwhile, the hubs devoured his 12" personal size RoniNation pizza at dinner and had nothing left to take home! This is a locals spot, and we have had this takeout style with friends too and it was every bit as amazing after a 20 minute drive. They do have beer and wine, nothing on draft and a simple selection is in the fridge by the door. Go here for the food folks, the drinks are there as a courtesy and definitely not the focus. Service is friendly, and we see the same handful of folks every time we go in. The dining room filled up while we were there, including several large parties, so the cashier instantly started serving as well and a Busboy/expeditor appeared from nowhere to pitch in. I can't believe that I haven't been to this place. It is soooooooo so good! It's now my new favorite pizza place. I got a Hawaiian pie and some garlic knots to go and wow it was incredible. The wait time wasn't long at all and the food was very hot! There is a ton of seating if you want to dine in and the cashier was super nice, giving me ample time to pick out what I wanted. Why can't I give ten stars???? My husband grew up in New Jersey, and we brought his parents to King's Pizza Express in hopes of finding the perfect pie. We have been missing pizza and proper subs on Italian rolls and real tiramisu and cannoli. Not anymore! King's Pizza Express is the real deal! King's pizza is sublime-- perfect crust, delectable sauce, generous cheese, and crispy, chewy perfection. We tried the Eggplant Parm sandwich. The eggplant parm is fresh. The sandwich is balanced, and the eggplant shines--New Jersey mama approved! My father had the pepper and egg sandwich--his favorite and a rare find outside the northeast-- and it was perfect. After our delicious meal, we learned that the tiramisu and cannoli are house made, so we had to try them. We all agree that the cannoli is the best we've ever had, anywhere, and the tiramisu is worth a trip just on its own. Our server, Sarah, was attentive, friendly, helpful, and cheerful. We couldn't have asked for better service. Every staff member we encountered was polite, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is clean and homey, just as a neighborhood pizzeria should be. WORST GNOCCHI EVER.....was over cooked in a plate of oil . I had vodka sauce before at other places and it's orange and creamy. This was a far cry from vodka . I wasn't sure if this is also owned by italian bistro but I'll just assume that it is because the menu is completely the same. First, I love how much portion they give for a kids meal. That bowl of ziti with meatball is for a child but we ended up sharing it. Their sauce is bomb, perfect acidity and with alittle sweetness. Cheesy fries is really good too, come out crispy with melted mozzarella on top. My husband and I order half of a regular pie and half of pineapple,pepperoni,jalapeños. They always put the perfect amount of everything into the pizza and it has so much flavor. My family and I were treated to a great dining experience at this restaurant. I had their Sicilian pizza called "The Works", it was easily the best pizza I have had in years. My daughter had a delicious cheese and pepperoni pizza, and my son had a large Calzone. We all shared several appetizers including fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and calamari.
