Breakfast has not improved since opening day. We have been pass holders since the opening of the park. Our first trip was in their " preview " stage , unfortunately it seems that phase has not passed in the 5 years they have been operating. A small dish of food for a family of 5 ( 2 adults, 2 older teens and a preteen) is crazy. It took about two hours to get our food , which seemed to be across the board for everyone , because of that there was a huge line for self serve food like cereal and toast . Both chocolate and regular milk ran out endlessly and were not refilled even when staff were notified multiple times.

Food was not good...service was great but I will never eat there again. Unfortunately you can get better food at a gas station at 1/4 of the cost.

Tastes like cafeteria food. Eggplant parmigiana was good enough to eat. They don't have red pepper flakes for your pasta dishes. Service was amazing though. The gummy bear martini was fun, festive and pretty strong. I would probably order that again.

My family and I ate here for breakfast during our stay at the resort. Our server was nice, attentive, and accommodating. Our food came out quick and drinks were always full. Drinks include coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, fountain drinks, and water. The breakfast is served family style and they give plenty of it. They will also bring more food if you need it. Our platter had pancakes, toast, scrambled eggs, tater tots, bacon, sausage, and a bowl of mixed fruits. On the side they have butter, syrup, grape and strawberry jelly, and cream cheese. The food was good and hot. The one platter was enough and with food leftover for our family of 3 adults and 2 preteens. We sat right at our reservation time and had a great experience.

While we prefer the old buffet style more to the family table option, it was still great. Service by Marissa was great. I love their attention to food allergies and conditions. Also the way the staff celebrates birthdays is super cute. Breakfast is included with your hotel stay. Reservations are required and critical to getting in.

    Looooong wait

We went because we're staying at the hotel and figured we should give it a try for dinner and breakfast was free. Recommendation: send your spouse downstairs 20 minutes in advance to wait in the line. Pro: location, decor. Con: everything else. Long waits, inattentive staff, meh over priced dinner, gag me breakfast eggs. Dinner: took 30 minutes to have a server ask for our order or stop by in general. The burger looked good but tasted off. The veggie bowl was meh. Our child lived the place, but that is not reason to eat dinner here. Breakfast: day one took 20 minutes to get seated (for our reservation), 20+ minutes to get a platter of food that EVERYONE gets. And we were missing parts of the platter. Day two, line was longer, food was equally bad. It's a free breakfast so we went but if any quick breakfast place we're nearby we wouldn't have gone.

We went here for dinner and then returned in the morning for the free breakfast since we were staying at the hotel. Definitely make a reservation before you go for any meal there because it is the only restaurant in the hotel and everyone wants to eat at the same time. They are definitely understaffed in the kitchen it seemed but there were tons of staff on the floor some were attentive and helpful. They didn't have any answers why our food took over 75 minutes but they were very nice and refilled our drinks etc. The breakfast is now served family style on trays per table rather than a buffet which is great. The breakfast is included in your room charge so if you want to tip you have to bring cash. This is a restaurant at a theme park - it is what it is and don't be surprised if you have to wait really long for okay food. Cute brownie sundaes.

We had a great time overall. Checked in 10 minutes early which gave the kids time to play in the big playground area. Older kids did a scavenger hunt. We were seated at our exact reservation time. We were a party of 10. Service was prompt and friendly. Took time to speak to eat child to review or take their order. Food came out quickly, hot and correct. Bbq smashed burgers were a big hit along with the Mac and cheese. Timing is extremely important. When we left there was about 40 people waiting online to check in. Reservations are required. If going a peak dinner time there will be a wait. Choose wisely. We ate at 6:15.

    Meatball appetizer

My expectations were low as I had read previous reviews. I got the caprese salad as my entree, it was ok. We also got the meatballs which I thought were ok but my oldest daughter wouldn't eat because they were "too soft." I got a sangria, which half way through a server accidentally tipped over. But it was replaced with a new one, so no big deal. Overall service was slow, we had to ask 3 times for bbq sauce for my son. Overall, we got what I expected.

The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The slaw and sauce on both were amazing, and the crab cake was crispy and tasted great. Then for dessert we got the tres leches. I get this at every place that has it lol and this was one of the best I've ever had. The caramel on top was a nice add. Service was quick and attentive, and the inside is super cute. Obsessed with this place! Will be back

Here's a polished review that stays honest while keeping it fair and balanced:…read more Agave in New Paltz offers a modern, fusion-style take on Mexican-inspired cuisine rather than authentic Mexican food. If you're expecting traditional Mexican flavors, just know this restaurant leans more toward upscale fusion than classic Mexican dishes. The food is good, and everything we've tried has been flavorful, although the portions are on the smaller side. The prices are reasonable for the quality and presentation, and the atmosphere has more of a cozy, date-night vibe than a casual Mexican restaurant. One suggestion I'd make is to expand the salsa selection. For a restaurant centered around Mexican-inspired cuisine, offering a few house-made, original salsas would really elevate the experience and make it feel more authentic. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so it's not the best choice for large groups. Parking can also be a challenge since there's no dedicated lot--it's street parking only, so be prepared to drive around until you find a spot. Overall, Agave is a nice place if you're looking for creative fusion dishes in a relaxed setting. Just go in expecting modern Mexican-inspired cuisine rather than traditional Mexican food, and you'll likely enjoy the experience.
