It was a cool place that had some niche and unique items, but lots of pins and stickers and patches. They do have some interesting books and some apparel. The items were on the pricier side, but this is supposed to support the local artists and vendors. Worth a stop in to check it out, but for us, not a place we would revisit.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff Mary and Joe. Both are super knowledgeable about fitting the right sneaker to difficult feet. They practice what they preach in their description "we place emphasis on "fitting" shoes based on the individual customer's needs and educate the consumer about foot health and footcare related products to help alleviate and prevent foot pain and disorders" The selection at this divine store is remarkable but the service is truly the most outstanding feature and makes the sneakers well worth the price. One of them helped me measure a chair to see if it would fit under my desk. There are all sorts of designer clothing and handbag items too. I went to 2 other bridal salons before going to Bridal Trousseau. I wasn't planning on finding or buying "the dress", but I did! I made an appointment during the week and went with my mom and sister. Julie was my consultant and couldn't have asked for anyone else! She helped me pick out a couple gowns while also allowing my mom and sister to pick some out for me. I will also remember that day: when we were done picking out dresses, Julie took me to the dressing room and asked me which one I wanted to try on first. My eye went directly to one of my sister's choices and that's the one I ended up with! I am so thankful that Julie allowed my family to pick out dresses too because now I always say "my sister picked out my wedding dress!". Another superb service Julie provided was when I asked about a possible veil made by the same designer and fabric, she called and found that there was one identical to my dress! She ordered one for the store so that I could try on which, of course, was perfect! It was such a memorable and positive experience! Ever since then, I have dealt with probably everyone who works there. Everytime I have a questions even if it's small I always feel comfortable calling and I always get such great service. I was so impressed with them that I decided to order my girls' bridesmaid dresses there. The process of finding the right bridesmaid dress took me a long time and the number of times I brought my girls there were far too many! But the staff there was super friendly and actually encouraged me to come with my girls as often as I liked. I love the fact that they have trunk shows. I went to one and found all my trimmings. It saved me so much time to get everything at once! Julie was there again to help me. I really respect her for not pushing to sell items. I love that she was honest and tried to guide me in the most tasteful direction. When my wedding dress came in, I was so happy Julie and Jody were there to see! They were so attentive and helpful. So I wish i could split into two reviews because while a majority of the store and its staff were absolutely amazing to work with and the store is beautiful there is one rotten egg spoiling the bunch. One of the co owners, the brunette who will remain nameless, was very rude and upon describing my experience later that day to my friends over lunch had also heard of the woman and her terrorization of other brides and people in general. I do have to say that the rest of the staff, mainly 3 people Julie, Tim, & Morgan were extremely helpful and a pleasure to work and even just converse with regarding my wedding. I had been shopping with my mother and she wasn't being much of help as her idea of a wedding gown is puffy sleeves and a train as long as the aisle. But with the help of the bridal trousseau team I put her mind at ease. Until the appointment was sabotaged by the decent of owner Lisa. Who proceeded to tell me that the dress I had on was not the proper fit for my body type, mind you I run around a size 14/16 and the samples sizes are 10/12. When i explained i was just getting an idea she proceeded to grab one of the 2 gowns she had in plus size and said that it would be a more appropriate fit. The kicker came when she proceeded to say that she felt the same way about trying clothes as she even referred to herslef as "chunky". The girl may not be the skinniest thing but she far from overweight and to call yourself so in front of a girl who actually is, is demeaning. That was when I had to pull the plug and end my experience at Bridal Trousseau. he store is beautifully arranged and displayed and i wish that alone were enough to justify a long term commitment with this salon, but having to deal with Lisa is not something I would like to subject myself to over the next year til my wedding. If ever this salon finds "new Management" then please stop in and hopefully you will be greeted by one the lovely individuals I mentioned. Until then..... run! Where to start. My journey with Bridal Trousseau started in Oct 2013. The store is gorgeous and the selection is great, many different designers, and a great range in prices to fit almost any budget. and was bout my 6 dress shop and 75 dresses later, and I still had not found the dress I had in my head. Ashley spend over 2 hours with me and helped me into what seemed like every dress in the store. Just when I was about to give up, I tried on one last dress that was about 40% of what I was looking for. Feeling a little beat down from the whole dress hunt, I went with this dress. Then began the string of alterations. Which took 4 fittings. The seamstress did an AMAZING job turning a halter dress into a strapless, the hours she must have spent on the beadwork alone. After the 3rd fitting I left feeling like it still wasn't the dress I pictured. After having a complete meltdown on the phone with the owner Lisa, she had me come right back in (even though I was soooo rude to her) and spent almost 2 hours sitting on the floor tailoring the dress herself. She did the most amazing job taking the vision in my head and turning the dress into exactly what I wanted. Every single person in the store was more than helpful and attentive, and so friendly. We also has a great experience and fun evening going to the shop to pick out tuxes, I recommend this to every couple. The selection is wonderful, and there is something to fit every style wedding. I am not sure what went wrong with the other reviews, this was not my experience at all. read more

I have recently been reading the testimonials against bridal trousseau, specifically one woman in particular, the owner with dark hair. This has made me realize that I need to come out the woodwork and voice my opinion as well. The reviews are true, I got married last year and my dream experience was made into a nightmare but one in particular! She was always either making comments about the hardships in her life was at the time when she was supposed to be helping me find my gown and monitor my alteration process. At one time she had her cell phone with her during my appointment and left when it rang which I then proceeded to hear crying and screaming coming for the back of the salon. She was cussing and screaming at what she later told me was her boyfriend at the time, and the went on to explain every gory detail. As a customer I wasn't there to listen to her personal tragedy and it was starting to make me feel uncomfortable. A few appointments later when I was getting my final fitting she was there again and this time seemed in better spirits. Boy was I wrong, she came into my fitting appointment which was with the seamstress and proceeded to nit pick my enitre dress and the alterations being done to it (which I thought were pretty darn good and that It looked great) when i told her that i was very happy with the dress and excited, she said and i quote, "well it's your wedding, not mine" I think she should follow this advice and stay out of others peoples lives before anymore victimized women come forward! read more

There are not enough good things I can say about my experience at Bridal Trousseau. I don't even know where to begin! On my first appointment I narrowed down my choices to 4 dresses. I didn't feel pressured at all to pick one, everyone was so caring and helpful! When I went back my bridesmaids helped me pick one and I couldn't have been happier. I loved the variety of dresses in the store as well! I'm 100% confident anyone could find their dream gown there because of all of the different styles, colors, etc. I tell literally everyone looking for a dress to go there because of how truly great the entire experience was. Mel, the owner, is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She truly cares so much about her brides and just wants them to find their dream dress. I could have easily been pursuaded to buy a more expensive dress from my top 2 picks but I wasn't. They all just wanted me to feel great in the dress that was best for me! They really make you feel like family being there through the whole process. I got my bridesmaid dresses there as well and even with everything going on with my dresses being from Alfred Angelo they made sure everything went smoothly. They let us use the sample in the store when we found out one of the dresses weren't going to come in because of Alfred Angelo closing. I honestly could go on and on about how amazing my experience was but you should absolutely go there yourself to see!! read more

I went with my daughter a few weeks ago. She had a Saturday appt. We went with her grandma, god mother, cousin, and future mother in law. We were greeted at the door and made to feel very comfortable. We were offered champagne but opted for water since it was before noon. All the workers were nice but we were lucky enough to get Ashley. My daughter was comfortable with her, she took good care of her. She was knowledgable about all products and lines. My daughter tried on maybe 6 dresses and decided on her first. She aso found her veil. I felt that the showroom was beauiful, clean and orderly but I must admit I went into the bathroom and found it to be dirty. The other comment I would make is the dress my daughter bought was the last one. We would need tp purchase that dress. We did get a discount but was surprised that we would be charged a 100. fee for dress cleaning. To me I wasn't happy about that since when we buy a dress we assume it will be clean. Service was wonderful. They were willing to work with me and really wowed my mom who is a tough cookie. Ordered my dress and will update when it comes in for alterations. Update: The dress came in and IT IS PERFECT! Jody and Julie helped me on a busy Saturday to have alterations done at the same time my mom, godmother, and maid of honor could see it on me finally! Jody knows her stuff and was able to pin everything and gave me great advice for undergarments. Julie made me feel like a long-lost best friend! She looked like she could cry when she saw me in my beautiful Ambrosia by Maggie Sottero. She loved the little accents and accessories I was planning on. Both Jody and Julie wanted me to look perfect on my wedding day and they were just the experts I was looking for while also adding that personal touch and helping me to become even more excited about my wedding. LOVED my experience bridal shopping at bridal Trousseau. My consultant, Krissy, immediately made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I had a low budget of $1000 and she worked with me on picking out dresses that remained around that number. The atmosphere was fun and exciting which took the stress away from the big purchase and decision. Krissy was attentive throughout both my visits to the store and truly made it a wonderful experience. I ended up purchasing a dress at the store which turned into a celebratory event after ringing their "dress bells" and capping it off with a glass of champagne. I did not feel pressured or stressed during the visits, which was something i experienced in other bridal shops. Krissy and I laughed through a majority of the visit and i intend to return for other wedding purchases such as tux rentals and bridesmaid dresses. Ok, I never write reviews, but as a bride I know how much I find them helpful, so I'll write one for the shop I bought my dress.... I cannot say enough good things about Bridal Trousseau on Main! As kind of a picky bride who works in Massachusetts, I looked ALL over for a shop with a good selection of wedding gowns. When I FINALLY went down to Branford, I never looked back. Selection is much bigger than other stores, they welcome you to look through their selection unlike other shops where they want to be in control and their seamstress is literally a miracleworker. She does an AMAZING job. I eventually bought my wedding gown there and all my bridesmaid dresses. I just felt like the ladies really cared. They are honest, helpful and willing to work with you and your schedule. This place I have no words. They are simply the best. I am still in shock. I found my dream dress in just 2 hours. Ebony was the stylist a girl could only dream about. I felt so seen. I didn't go in expecting to buy anything because I am so indecisive. But Ebony was patient and guided me through the process. She ended up showing me dresses that complimented my shape and figure. I had an AMAZING experience at Bridal Trousseau!! Julie was so helpful and guided me to finding the perfect wedding dress!!!!!! She gave me the ability to choose which dresses I wanted to try on and they had a GREAT selection! All the dresses are amazing and beautiful which makes it hard to make a decision! Just recently my sister and I had an amazing experience at Bridal Trousseau. We both went on the same day and worked with Julie and she was absolutely wonderful. Although my sister had made the appointment, Julie took the time to also let me try on dresses as well. She spent hours with us both, helping us both try on dresses. She even stayed later than she was supposed to work so that she could continue to help us! She was sweet, helpful and wonderful to both of us and our family. I loved this shop. It was the final stop for my sister and i after shopping all over ct for a wedding dress for both of us and a mob dress for my mother. Well if we stopped here it would have made our lives much easier. Sandra helped us initially and Lisa one of the owners came in to help out. Jen had a budget of $500 or less and of corse they had a sample of her dream dress in stock! done..then I saw the Maggie Sottero Fiorella and had to try it on! they took $100 off of the price..then my mother found the perfect mob dress and none of us went over budget. I traveled from Atlanta to get my wedding dress at the Bridal Trousseau. I love being in love and I love the experience of finding the one thing that no one else may have. When I arrived I was greeted by the most beautiful owner. She was a kind sales person who really wanted me to look BEAUTIFUL. She really had a perfect eye. We just went to Bridal Trousseau to look for a wedding gown for my daughter and without a doubt we had the most wonderful experience in purchasing the dress of her dreams. The staff, Lisa, etc were knowledgeable about the products, and recommended dresses with the bride in mind. I went to Bridal Trousseau on Sunday May 23rd for the private champagne appointment and cant say enough nice things. It was such a fun day for me and my guests, the gowns were stunning, and it was the first time trying on dresses for me. Had my private champagne appointment about two weeks ago and it was the best experience I could have ever dreamed about! The girls were so helpful and the service was impeccable. They were not pushy what so ever, I told them my budget and they didn't let anyone pick a dress that was out of my price range. I had an overall wonderful experience at Bridal Trousseau and said "yes" to the dress today! I tried on about six gowns and revisited my top two favorites, and I never felt rushed or uncomfortable at any point. The consultant I worked with was extremely professional, kind, and really understood my vision, she even suggested a slightly different style, which ended up being the dress I chose. My best friend is getting married next year, and as her maid of honor, I scheduled an appointment for her to try on dresses while she was in town, visiting from across the country. She'd tried on dresses once before and found one she loved, but wanted the experience with her friends, and the opportunity to find a dress she possibly loved even more. Upon arrival to Lucille's, we were not immediately greeted. We went up to the counter where we were told it would be a few minutes, as the preceding appointment was finishing up. This was fine -- but we found it odd that there was nowhere to sit. No water offered. No congratulations to the bride. Just a "feel free to take a look around." 10-15 minutes later, the preceding appointment was finished. A bridesmaid was coming to our appointment as well (so bride + 2 guests) and she was about to arrive. The bride wanted to greet her outside, and after our appointment was pushed back almost 20 minutes on their end already, we were told we "needed to get started." It was a weird vibe. But that's not even what stayed with me most. The discussions between the apparent owner/manager and her sales associate were uncomfortable to witness. The owner, who had been hacking up a lung in the back room, seemed to talk down to her sales associate. It was very awkward. The 2 women tried to feel out if the bride was looking to buy something -- we had put down our deposit for the appointment, and assumed we'd be treated with the same respect as any other client. Of course if the bride had found something she loved, she'd have considered purchasing. But once they heard she had tried on a dress elsewhere that she really liked, they seemed convinced she wasn't "serious" about purchasing and I do believe this tainted our entire experience. I was told I was not allowed in the dressing room. Ok fine - element of surprise when the bride comes out.... Well when she did come out in a dress, as part of her support system, I said, "You're a vision in white!" To which the sales associate responded, "We don't have any white dresses; that's ivory." ...I was dumbfounded. I was attempting to hype up my best friend and I was shot down over a technicality that truly did not matter. It was bizarre. The owner came over and insisted that she knew that the sales associate knew what she was doing, yet she interjected herself into the appointment to insist the bride try on a dress that wasn't at all what she was looking for. She claimed, "This one just came in and I need a model for it." ...what? Bride tried it on to appease the owner, and of course did not like it. Also bizarre -- looking through the dresses, I found one I thought the bride might like, and I was shut down by the owner who said, "Oh she won't like that one. Put that back." ...!!! I think I know MY best friend's style and preferences better than anyone, and let me be clear: I was not at all attempting to take over the appointment. I was gently suggesting a dress and was completely dismissed. After the bride changed back into her clothes, we were forgotten and overlooked. The next appointment had arrived and they were done with us, even though they started with us late. No "thank you," or send off, or acknowledgment. The whole experience was off. Even if she HAD found the dress, she was confident she did not want to be a customer here. This is not how a bridal shopping appointment should go, no matter one's budget.

The staff was so supportive and loving and made this experience the best it could ever be. My daughter felt included and they went above and beyond to find a suit for my son last minute. Staff took the time to ensure my dress was perfect in every way from fitting to accessories. I have been to several bridal shops before but nothing can compare to the experience I had here. They made me feel like a bridal queen from day one! You guys made my 03/23/23 wedding memorable. Thank you.

What made the visit most memorable was how Erica was friendly, understanding, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Unlike other experiences I had, she was there to answer questions, clarify things, and be patient with the fact that I don't know much about weddings as a whole.
