I'm compelled to share my story, so that if you need assistance with a loved one, you know where to…read morego. Unexpectedly, the shift in "sheltering in place" from COVID led me to have to make some pretty quick decisions about how to get care for my Mom. Her therapy appointments were canceled, and she very rapidly lost her ability to walk and became bedridden. I reached out to CCSS when I learned my Dad needed heart surgery, and was under strict instructions not to exert himself in any way (which included caregiving for my Mom) prior to his operation. CCSS came out to assess the home, and made recommendations on equipment and a care schedule for my Mom. They were great with communicating with *me* as well---the adult daughter who does not live with them. When the local fires threatened evacuating my parents from their home, CCSS made calls and located a hospital bed to be delivered within hours to my house as we brought them here to evacuate. As my mother's health digressed, I had no experience coordinating with hospice care, and filing advanced care directives with the appropriate agencies. CCSS has literally helped me every step of the way, with clear communication and compassion as I processed emotionally and mentally the decisions I needed to make with my Dad to ensure my Mom was comfortable. If you're not sure what needs to be done to assist your loved one with the services they need to live comfortably, I highly recommend you reach out to CCSS. It was the best decision I made as our family transitions to new realities in our life.

This agency is the "worst." We had an appointment originally back in December 28, 2022. I had to call them this week because I hadn't heard anything from Bethany. Guess what her excuse was? She had the wrong number! Did she try calling the alternate phone number? The only communication I received after our December 28 meeting with Bethany was a "text" on January 10 saying she hasn't called because she had the "wrong number" was too busy assisting other "seniors" and our CNA was "sick." That's it. I can clearly see why they have a "3 Star" average. Excuse, after excuse after excuse.

They billed insurance too! We especially loved working with Marianne, Alecia and Anna. The three of them each had their own wonderful ways of caring; however, they were dutiful to know the tasks that were important. They oversaw medications, doctor's appointments, cooking and light cleaning. We appreciated that they looked for things to do during downtime. Marianne and Alecia texted me pictures when I was in another state so I felt connected. Marianne went above and beyond to make sure that there was a loving and familial atmosphere. She brought homemade food that she made for her own family. Alecia was a great listener and companion. Our family member adored her and sometimes asked her to sit and chat. We also found that Alecia's homemade chicken noodle soup was truly heartwarming! When our family member was entering hospice and becoming less communicative, it was hard for us to coax eating and medications. Anna worked her magic and was persuasive where family was not! Anna had confidence in helping with final days when we didn't know what to do.
