My grandmother went to Windsor Skyline after she was discharge from the hospital. She started emergency dialysis during her hospital stay. Mona was very efficient at coordinating her admission from the hospital. She was also very diligent when coordinating all the transportation to and from the dialysis center. All the staff at Windsor was very professional and very helpful. We will visit my grandmother everyday and they were always very friendly. Mona was very efficient and very diligent with my grandmothers discharge. She made sure that my grandmother left with everything she needed. My dad has been here for over a year now and I want to thank the staff for the overall care and patience they show. The staff was pleasant. A few times I had to correct the nurses about what medicines I should taking. I'm furious that they sent me home without a caregiver to meet me even though I told them who to call and they knew I needed one. When I contacted the agency they were surprised. She had never contacted them. I was quite pleased with the therapists. I would have given them a much better if the discharge planner had tried to PLAN. read more

This update is solely for accounting. I stand by my previous review on care....etc. Prior to my dad leaving Windsor, I paid his bill in full. I did not want to have any debts after taking my dad home. Over a year after his stay, we received a $250+ bill. I called and inquired about the bill, stating that I had the receipt from our payment, and asked what the bill was for, and why we were receiving it over a year later. I was told to go ahead and ignore the bill, as they could see our payment, and they didn't know what the bill was for either. The next month I received the bill again, and called again.....this went on for months. I was told by Angie in accounting that maybe it was an amount that my dad's insurance hadn't covered, to hold off paying til it was figured out, that she would call me back and let me know what it was for...etc. I NEVER received a call back from Angie or anyone else. Every time I would call I was given the runaround as no one seemed to know what the bill was for, and kept instructing me not to pay til they called me back. If accounting staff is just sending out bills that they are not clear on themselves, maybe they should check whether or not those bills are even accurate and valid, rather than the approach of waiting over a year, then 'here's a bill, but I don't know what it's for, why it's late, or even why it exists, so don't worry about paying it.' After being told a few times NOT to pay the bill, and that Windsor would figure it out on their end themselves, they instead sent the bill to collections! Why would you tell me NOT TO PAY, then send it to collections!? Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Instead, I should have received a call 'we figured out what the mystery bill was, its because....' and then I would have had no problem paying it, because it would have been proven as a valid billing. Nope! Instead I ended up with collections calling me several times a day, EVERY SINGLE DAY. No, not Angie calling like she said she would to explain the bill, but a collections company. And yes, I have since mailed out the payment. But I want to make sure the accounting staff at Windsor is sure to complete THEIR END of things and keep their clients informed (especially a client that calls more than once with obvious concern), prior to sending them to collections. read more

So after 2 months of visiting my father in- law here 3 to 4 times a week, I'm disappointed. Not all the staff is inept (some are very well trained) but after listening and seeing most are hacks at best. There's no communication...none. One shift of "nurses" and "CNA's" don't or won't let the other know of any changes in the patients status. So much confusion and eye rolling. I get it! Not a easy job, lot's of stress and it takes a great deal of patience. I worked at one in my youth. It's hard. Takes a certain type of temperament. Some compassion is needed. If the left hand knew what the right was doing it would help in this case. As far as relating to the family it all depends on who you know. The same information isn't shared across the board. Just more of the same bad attitudes, eye rolling and the I'm sorry I didn't hear your question. So as time passes I'm still looking for some leadership here. I don't know what the other reviewers are smoking because this place is terrible. I'm sure *some* of the CNAs mean well but holy shit is this place is mismanaged to hell. The floors are stained with god knows what and they look like they haven't been cleaned in months. My family member was there because of an injury and needed some level of care after being at a hospital. There were many times where my family member needed assistance going to the bathroom. They paged the CNAs with their button 3 times -- no help. She even had to get up to go themselves which in their condition was dangerous. The pictures posted on this Yelp business page are ridiculously misleading. The bedrooms aren't that clean. There are no plants inside of the building itself, nor "comfy" looking furniture. There was one incident with one of the CNAs that resulted in my family member getting Pneumonia. At their age, that is incredibly dangerous and all of this could have been prevented if the CNAs weren't incompetent and actually gave a shit about the people they were looking after. Here's a simple quiz for you to take as to whether you should bring your family member here: 1. Do you value your family members health? 2. Do you want them to get better? 3. Do you want them to get worse? If you answered Yes/Yes/No then don't bring your family member here. In the event that this is the only option for you and your family, you need to watch these people like a hawk. read more

My mother recently passed away from an illness and she had dementia. For years, we tried to care for her and as she progressed we had to make that hard decision to place her in the care of a nursing home. She stayed at a private care home then another after. Her disease progressed and she then was sent to Windsor Skyline. I live in Arizona and with my own medical condition made it difficult to travel to see mom but both my sister and brother told me how she loved it there. How she was always happy. It was a relief to hear about her visits, how all the staff took such great care of her. I want to thank the administration and staff for the kindness and wonderful care you showed for my mother. Although we are still grieving her passing, it is a comfort to know that she was at the right place being cared for by the right people. Thank you so much!! read more

How can I express adequately the great care my uncle received in the wonderful and capable hands of the staff of Skyline. He has dementia and was in a car accident where he needed therapy which luckily brought him to Skyline. The therapists are compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective in their respective fields. There is an open communication network among the professional staff that keeps the welfare of each patient on target. It's so refreshing when we came to visit my uncle and see he was well cared for. He was shaved well, clean and dressed. And if we had any concerns about his well being, the great nursing staff always stopped what they were doing and came to him to check on his needs without hesitation. I have a Father who is a resident of Windsor Skyline Care Center in Salinas, Ca. and being his sole Power of Attorney I can attest to the integrity and professionalism my family and I have experienced at this facility. They have communicated clearly and timely any concerns regarding my father's condition. I have called and visited frequently at various times to find that I not only get current information but also that of the previous shifts. The care and communication has been consistently good throughout the years because we had a son who spent many years there with brain cancer and when the time came to get skilled nursing for my father 3 months ago we did not hesitate to approach Windsor Skyline Care Center. My father in his sage wisdom delegated me as his Power of Attorney to disseminate information and make decisions for his healthcare due to the inability of others to handle the emotional stress and communications and Windsor Skyline have acted professionally to respect my position with regards to confidentiality and Hipa laws. The Doctor and nursing staff have medical degrees and training and have only acted in the best interest of my father have always conducted themselves in a caring and professional manner. Unfortunately, due to health conditions and dementia issues times can be difficult and emotions can run high but Windsor Skyline has been a comfort and handled situations with care and compassion. I would hope that people who have a loved one in skilled nursing can experience the care, kindness, compassion and professionalism that my mom, sisters, and I have been the recipients of at Windsor Skyline. Enjoying the time we have left with our loved one in a positive environment should be the focus and allowing the professionals to do their jobs affords us that opportunity. read more
