LOVE this Detroit everything bar!!! Went bar hopping on bridge street and so glad we stopped in here. Drinks were good and reasonably priced and they even had pierogis!! Loving the Polish side. They were actually really good! The staff was super friendly and quick and again I just truly loved the Detroit decor and the paintings on the wall.

This was my first time to the new-ish bar on Bridge Street. I sat at the bar and a good sign people must be Kiki g it here is that it was moderately busy on a Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm. I tried a burger and a chili dog (for research, people! And I skipped on any fries) and both were good. I'd lean towards the burger again next time if only because the chili dog was pretty messy, as chili dogs are prone to being. Not what I'd call a huge draft beer selection but enough you should find a style you like. And my bartender/server, Matthew, was friendly and attentive. My next goal is to come here during a Detroit sports event, even if it's just a regular season Tigers baseball game, to see what the atmosphere is like. So I'll be back!

Word of mouth brought us in for Friday lunch. We really enjoyed everything about our visit. The decor is sports-oriented and well done. Everything was clean and bright. We were warmly greeted and felt welcome. Our lunch was very good. I had a double house burger and fries. It was tasty and more than a meal. Sally tried the special of the day, which was Mac 'n cheese topped with pulled pork and crispy onions, and pickles. That combo hit it out of the park! (pun intended)

Hot dog

Checked this place out a few weeks after opening. It was pretty mediocre. Very busy, loud atmosphere making it hard to speak to the people I was there with. The hotdogs were nothing to write home about. 10/10 would go to Blue Dog Tavern over this place as they have some of the best hot dogs in town! Additionally, after seeing the owner's response to patron's ratings on Google, I won't be going back. He's incredibly childish, rude, and condescending. I'm honestly baffled an owner would talk to customers like that. It's no way to run a business and they've certainly lost mine.

Housemade pierogies

Fun place, friendly bartenders and delicious food all at a reasonable price. Bridge Street bar has a winning combination. We visited and sat at the bar where we were quickly greeted and our order taken. I opted for the house made pierogies (hold the onion) and my husband got the jalapeño popper empanadas which were on special. Both were fantastic! We chatted with one of the owners who told us about some of the artwork around the building. The interior is all Detroit themed with murals depicting, the major sporting teams and landmarks of Detroit. They even have part of the original sign directing traffic to Tigers stadium. We were still a little hungry after we finished so we had to try the Snoop Dogg, which is a chili dog with Fritos on top. The owner informed us that they source their hotdogs from the same place that supplies Lafayette Coney Island in Detroit. The hotdog was delicious sliced down the middle and grilled so it had the perfect snap when you bit into it. Their hours are incredibly generous! Having just started serving breakfast at 7 AM. They are open late as well. My only criticism really would be the noise. There's not much on the inside to absorb sound so even at partial capacity it was pretty noisy in there. We will absolutely return.

This is a restaurant and bar with simulator bays. How fun!…read more Most simulators are set up for just golf but I saw other sports equipment in other bays, so they may have some throwing style games as well. You can eat, drink, and play golf - you can do it all or you can do just one. However, if you plan on playing golf / using a simulator bay, you should call or go online and make a reservation. It gets busy there. I love that they have seasonal cocktails. They had some special ones for st Patrick's day. They also have happy hour M-F from 2-6pm. I booked a bay, it charges per 30 min. The hour was $65. I had one cocktail. I got a briefing on the system and I was on my way to playing a very difficult golf course in South Korea. They have club upgrades but I stuck with the standard bag. I had a great time. Next time I will choose an easier golf course! Also, I believe the server calculates their tip not only on what you buy but also your bay time. So I'll review my check a little closer next time. The sell golf gloves if you need one/forgot yours. There is a small parking lot next to the building or you can park on the street or garage nearby. Bathrooms are on all levels. Fun place. I'll be back.

This was a pizza crust without sauce - but had cheese and pepperoni, rolled up like a pinwheel, then sliced and baked! We had beers while we waited for our table and the bartenders were great. Quick service and they were friendly. We were seated at a booth after 30ish minutes. Shaun was our server and he took such good care of us! Our refills were quick, he was so nice and our food was as exactly as we ordered. We had a deluxe pizza on hand tossed crust. I tell ya what - that crust is GOOD. The bottom was crispy and the end was soft and chewy. Decent amount of toppings too! We also had a Caesar wrap with crispy chicken. They add diced tomatoes here - and I like that! Shaun did ask if I was ok with tomatoes, he must have had people complain in the past to know to ask. We went with chips as a side, I knew I wasn't going to eat enough of the side to spend the extra $$ on an upgrade to fries. Z's is a downtown staple, especially late night. It's been a LONG time since we've been out in GR late night, but it was good to know the food is really good when sober too Of course we'll be back!

I ordered chicken wings and a thin-crust pizza. Honestly, both were mediocre at best, and I had a bad feeling from the start. The wings were too soft and mushy, which should have been a warning sign, but I went ahead anyway since there weren't a lot of other options around. Big mistake. To make matters worse, I ended up with full-blown food poisoning the next day--I've been throwing up all day, and it's clear it came from that meal. And the service was just as frustrating. The bartender told me it was happy hour but never gave me a happy hour menu. When the bill came, everything was full price. So what's the point of mentioning happy hour if you're not actually going to honor it? On top of that, the bartender said she was done with her shift but then lingered around for another hour or so until I left. She just wanted me to pay up quick for some reason. Just a ridiculous experience all around. Trust me, steer clear of Z's Bar if you value your health and your wallet. Awful.

In fact, my kids laughed at my wife when she got a salad and wasn't overly impressed "Mom, why would you get a salad at a place with great burgers?!?" My thoughts exactly. The service is decent, the space is comfortable for a downtown spot on Monroe Center. When I visit, I focus solely on the burgers and I've never been disappointed. The 'Meat Wagon', topped with ribeye, ham and bacon just wants to cuddle your belly from the inside. The 'Otto Von Burger' topped with a fried egg and bacon is one of the best examples of its kind. The 'Alabamer' is great when you're craving pulled pork and bacon on your burger. If you just want a traditional burger, you have that option and won't be disappointed. Also, the loaded fries are solid, but personally, I would pass on the fancier offerings. Remember: Burgers over fancy apps and skip the salads and you'll be fine.

Luckily, I was able to snag a reservation for 6:45, so we found a few things to do nearby while we waited. Once we returned, we were seated upstairs, which I actually prefer. It's noticeably less crowded and quieter than the main floor, making for a more relaxed experience. The menu offers a great variety, and their draft list is especially impressive for beer lovers. This time, I ordered one of their meal deals with mac and cheese, along with pretzels and beer cheese. Portion-wise, it did feel a bit small, but for the price of the deal, it made sense. That said, the flavor was a bit underwhelming. The mac and cheese and beer cheese dip both lacked that rich, cheesy taste I was expecting. The mac and cheese also had quite a bit of topping/breading, and the sauce was fairly loose, almost soupy in consistency. Since this was my first time ordering it, I'm not sure if that's typical. Overall, it's still a great downtown spot that offers something for everyone. The service was prompt and helpful, which definitely added to the experience.

When you've had a drink or two, it's all just throwing balls and knocking things over. Woodrows Duckpin is the only duckpin bowling alley in Grand Rapids, as far as I can tell. It's a great place to get a drink and knock things over. In fact, you should be aware that you can only get things to drink here -- they don't sell any food. But you're welcome to bring in your own food. We opted to just get beverages (sodas for kids, beer and wine for the adults) and eat elsewhere after we played. You can reserve a lane for an hour at a time. An hour of duckpin bowling was more than enough for me and my family! Games go by quickly, and I think we played three games in about 45 minutes, then peaced-out with 15 minutes left on our tab. (But we had our fun and got our money's worth.) Duckpin bowling uses smaller balls that are more lightweight than regular bowling balls, so it's easier for young kids to play. Think skee ball, but on a slightly larger scale. Honestly, I think I prefer duckpin bowling to regular bowling! It feels more laid-back and less serious. There's a nice lounge in Woodrows Duckpin, which is pleasant to sit in when you're not playing, or if you're waiting for your lane to be ready. Woodrows is also attached to the Amway Grand Plaza, so if you're staying at that hotel, it's just a quick jaunt downstairs.
