We came in on Saturday night, 7/25/26 around 5:30pm before going to a concert at Acrisure. We didn't have a reservation but fortunately there was room at the bar - which is our preferred seating spot anyway. I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. Studio Park positions itself as a premium spot for event nights at Acrisure Amphitheater, so maybe put some effort into making the "Party on the Piazza" an actual event. What a disappointment, but not nearly as much as our experience at 123 Tavern. We came in at 4:15PM before the Brandi Carlile show needing a table for a party of 8-10. The place was fully booked (but only half full at that time) except the bar (first-come, first-served). Fair enough -- but from the moment we walked up, the manager at the host stand couldn't have cared less. She quoted a two-hour wait, shut down my question about sitting outside with a flat no, and pointed us toward the bar. No sense of customer service at all. Like zero. The three of us who were there took the last open seats at the bar. Then came the real show: one bartender for the entire restaurant AND bar. He ignored us for ten minutes. My wife and friend got their beers quickly -- but my bourbon sat finished at the service station for another seven minutes while I watched the large ice cube melting as it marinated there. When I finally asked where my drink was, I got "I'm working on it." When he did finally bring it, he pushed it across the bar at me -- no apology, no eye contact, his attention on anything but me. I'll be honest about what I can't prove: I've worked in this industry a long time, and the whole thing read like my service got intentionally slow-walked. My drink held back while everyone around me was taken care of. Maybe the front manager said something after our rocky start at the host stand. Maybe they're just all bad at their jobs. I can't tell you which. I can only tell you how obvious it felt from the barstool. Everything after was the same; menus, ordering, closing out, all a slog. I had to hunt down that same manager for our check so we could get to the show, and she was all attitude, zero help. We only escaped because my wife flagged a server who found a another manager. His response to hearing all this? "I'm sorry." Nothing else. No attempt to make it right. For the first time in my life, I left $0 on a $100 tab. I'm a 25%+ tipper. That's how badly this went. Here's the thing, 123 Tavern: if you're going to bill yourself as a place to gather before events, staff the place and train your managers to act like they want customers there. Awww this was our last dinner in Grand Rapids we walked here from our hotel, it was close no problem! The atmosphere was perfect for us to relax and talk, upscale but comfortable I would say! The food was pretty good, the Fries Brussel sprouts needed to cook for like another 10 minutes, to me they were served almost uncooked, but I like mine crispy, but besides that, everything else was good! We had a lovely dinner here and really enjoyed the overall experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The drink selection definitely outshines the food menu, with a great variety of cocktails and wines to choose from. I ordered the skirt steak with mashed potatoes. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. The standout appetizer was the whipped goat cheese--absolutely delicious and easily my favorite dish of the night. I tried the basil margarita, which had a bit more basil than I expected. If you're a fan of bold herbal flavors, you'll probably love it. My regular margarita, however, was perfectly balanced and excellent. The wine selection was also impressive. For dessert, we had the Peanut Butter Crème Brûlée. It was unique and worth trying, though it reminded me more of a rich, creamy pudding than a traditional crème brûlée. We had very good burgers on a busy Saturday night. This place is so big it's hard for it to fill up.

The environment is very hip and cool. Loved that the kitchen stays open late. The menu is simple and my burger was amazing. The staff were not very friendly or concerned with getting food orders in. I order a drink and it wasn't made correctly- I didn't complain but just part of the noticing about service. As a table of one I think there are clear signs diners give when ready to order- menu down, sitting silently, making eye contact with server. Yet, I was walked by more than 10 times. Finally, I had to ask to please order and she seemed inconvenienced by this request. Got a burger and subbed fries for Brussels. Holy sweet mother those Brussels were amazing. Ive tried 123 a handful of times now, usually when family comes into town, its easy and it has something for everyone on the menu. My usual is the 123 burger, the dill aoili they put on the burger is great. The meat they use taste high quality. Their fries are mid at best, especially if you get them for takeout. Overall the food is a very typical burger, nothing special. It does the job for a lunch or dinner spot but im never aren't particularly excited to go back. read more

Stopped in the other night before a musical at the Civic. When we walked in we we're probably greeted. We did ask if we could sit outside with the patio was not yet open for the season. We were sat at a small table near the window with some big black leather chairs (very comfortable!) A waitress quickly greeted us and we decided to just stick with some waters and she reviewed the specials of the day. I ordered the 123 burger, which was absolutely delicious. I got the California garlic fries as a side and they did not disappoint, but left my breath as something to be desired. my mom ordered the Michigan pear salad on mixed greens and really likes it - large portion. My fiance and I came to One Twenty Three at 8pm on a Friday night on a whim and were able to be seated and served right away! I called ahead to see what the wait was looking like since they are a first come, first serve kinda place. I also asked if they validate parking being attached to Studio Park and they do! We also got lucky with parking and got a spot right in the front entrance but it was good to know. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Eggrolls, the Smash Burger, and the 123 Burger with truffle fries. I love the branded bun for aesthetics. It wouldn't be my go to place but I'd definitely come back to try other items or come here as a back up plan. If you're looking for something packed with protein, try their chicken and rice bowl! It was different than what I had pictured in my mind and I thought it would be more like a poke bowl, but instead it reminds me more of a burrito bowl from Chipotle. It wasn't bad, but it was different than I expected and I wish the rice was less soggy. The tiny slivers of fried jalapeño slices had no flavor and could easily be confused as an olive burger with the mayo. This review is even getting confusing! The restaurant itself is located in a high traffic area but the dark sensual vibes are so inviting and welcoming here. We always have really good service as well! For our most recent meal we came for a late lunch and i enjoyed the French Dip Sandwich! The meat was so tender and flavorful and the bread was super good! I also loved that it had the right amount of cheese not too much and not too little. The sauce to dip it in was just the cherry on top of this entree! Soooo good! Chefs kiss! I ordered this with a side of the California garlic fries and these are so garlicky and good that I don't care how my breath is afterward, it's worth it. We decided to try this place out before the Griffins Hockey Game based on a recommendation. It was a good choice. The outside doesn't seem like much but the inside was clean and well done. The booth and tables were private enough to allow for conversation without being too intrusive towards anyone else. The waitress and staff were all professional and attentive. The pace of service was good with beverages being never empty and the empty plates removed from the table at the right times. The food was surprisingly good. The special on Monday is meat loaf for $11! You are not going to find a better deal for meat loaf with the trimmings. The meat loaf was good without being too greasy. The mashed potatoes were good without being pasty. The asparagus and tomatoes were cooked to perfection and flavorful. I would highly recommend trying it out, especially on a Monday. The mahi tacos were not very good. The insides were mostly coleslaw with some mahi and toppings lightly mixed in. The tortilla was also hard and chewy, which didn't make things better. Overall, I would not recommend or repeat this dish. The smash burger was said to be good with the sauce reminding them of a Big Mac sauce. It happened to be happy hour, so certain appetizers were half off. Thus you have to get some and we did! The fried Brussels sprouts and artichoke dip were delicious! Definitely get them, especially if it's happy hour. The drink prices varied with drafts being reasonable at ~$6-8. The mixed and specialty drinks were in the ~$12-13 range for what I recall. I ate here once before and the food was amazing. Full of flavor and perfectly cooked. However, we ordered out this time and the food was so overcooked and burned we couldn't eat it. Three guests complained their dishes were too spicy. Two of the meatloaf dishes were completely black and hard. Charred on the outside and dry on the inside. The cheeseburger was the thinnest burger (maybe 2 oz of meat at best) and that was burned to the point of being inedible. (Mainly because I had my scooter) but let me say it was so unbelievably relaxing and nice outside on their alley patio. The building's provide shade and there was a soft and welcoming breeze; just really wanted to point out to the lunch crowds. I came here with my husband, nephew and his girlfriend before going to a concert at Van andel arena. This location is perfect for if you want to go anywhere in the downtown area. It was very easy for parking. We parked on the street and then during the meal our server said that there was a 4hr parking structure that they could validate for eating there. The service was great! The food came out in a timely and speedy manner! We came during happy hour from 3-6 so select appetizers were half off. We tried the Brussels sprouts and the garlic fries. And they were both delicious! If you're a fan of shoe string fries like me then you would appreciate their garlic fries! I ordered the short rib tacos and those were good! You get a good amount and the meat to taco ratio was perfect! I normally love coming here, but my partner and I had an incredibly poor experience with one of the bartenders, Angie. We came for a couple cocktails before a movie, and were ignored for about 10 minutes before being greeted, even though it was an empty bar. She checked our IDs, and only took my order and not my partners. I had to ask her in the middle of her making my drink if my partner could get one as well. She proceeded to be very condescending when asking her questions about the bar, and loudly complaining to her other coworkers about personal things while we sat there. Both of us are bartenders and in the industry so it was disappointing to be so dismissed when we're very accommodating and willing to take care of anyone serving us. Drinks were good, but they missed on the food... One Twenty Three is a fun spot to meet up with friends in GR especially if it's before a show at Van Andel or a movie next door. The ambiance is upscale tavern with low light vibes. The drinks are all craft made with tons of flavor. I had the gin drink and an espresso martini, both of which were excellent. My friend got a smoked drink and it was WAY overpowering for either of us to have more than a sip. My wife got a salad with chicken and she didn't like it as the chicken was a bit dry. I got the risotto with lamb and the cheese was a bit overwhelming. I couldn't get a lot lamb flavor but there was a hefty portion of risotto.
