Dive bar with a decent menu, friendly staff, and cold drinks. As long as you aren't expecting something that this isn't, you'll be fine. They have a menu full of classic bar food options. The staff took great care of us and they clearly know all the regulars sitting around the bar. It felt like we were the only ones that didn't know everyone else, but by the time we left, we felt like part of the family. The food wasn't horrible but it's your typical bar food. We started with cheese curds and banging shrimp, both were perfect to share but don't expect anything fancy. The patty melt came out hot and it was cooked how I asked. The fries were crispy but they did cost extra since I opted out of the chips. Overall, not a bad dive bar with food and drinks.

    Gotta give it to James!

Gipper's is quite the spot. Didn't think it was gonna be as cool as it was, but it was definitely one for the books! James provided super awesome service and a great ambience for everyone around. I really appreciate him taking care of us while we were there and I'll definitely be stopping by when we go back!

This how the pizza came out

This shi was the most nastiest burgers I've ever had and they got my order on five times. I came with a group of friends and not one burger was correct. The pizza smelled like a kitty hasn't cleaned himself in four weeks. It tasted like it. All the waiters were disrespectful and walked away when I tried to talk to them they even asked for a tip after this experience, we've learned to never come to this place ever again

Did you know this place use to be a horse barn?! It's a big place and there is a semi private room to play pool. I've never attended but I know they do karaoke nights and they have a super long running happy hour. Seriously, it's all day. Today, for lunch, my bf and I ordered chicken tenders, potato skins and a grilled chicken sandwich. The serve was attentive. This place is what it's meant to be, a bar with solid pub food. You aren't going to eat the best pub food you've ever had, but if you are hungry you'll leave happy. The chicken tenders were ok; kind of on the dry side. Breading was 5/10. I ordered a side of sweet chili sauce which was really good. I'm going to try the boneless wings next time with this sauce. The potato skins are my favorite and I order them every time I come. They are huge and will fill you up! They are topped with ham, bacon, cheese and scallions. The ranch is amazing so just order a bunch and pour it on everything. My bf's chicken sandwich was decent. Again, the chicken was on the dryer side but I liked it. We dipped it in bbq sauce and ranch. The chips on the side were good and are lightly salted which I like.

The concept was a pleasant surprise, it has more of a sports bar atmosphere than a traditional Italian restaurant, but they still offer a solid selection of pastas, pizzas, subs, and other comfort food favorites. They also have a full bar, making it a great place to catch a game. We started with the pepperoni rolls, and they were easily the highlight of the meal. The garlic butter and Parmesan on top made them absolutely irresistible, definitely a 10/10 appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The chicken was well-seasoned and had a nice crispy exterior that added some texture to the dish. The Alfredo itself was good, but fairly standard and nothing particularly memorable. The garlic bread was also solid and complemented the meal well. While this isn't the best Italian food I've ever had, it was satisfying, reasonably enjoyable, and exactly what I was looking for that evening. I'd happily come back, especially for the lively sports bar atmosphere and those pepperoni rolls.

I was curious to try Uccello's fare after all the chatter. The staff are enthusiastic, from greeting to service to checkout, knowledgeable about their menu, mindful of checking in during the meal, and friendly. The Meatball sub & U-fries combo was a hearty portion but I found the flavor and seasoning weirdly subdued, especially considering they have a vested interest in selling beverages. I would have thought it to be more tomato-forward and salty. My trip ended before I could do a return visit, but I'll be back in a few months and grab something else from the menu. There's definitely potential here.

The service is always timely for me and the food has been consistent. They have live music and the patio is perfect this time of year! Parking is a bit of a pain when DT Ada is busy, so just plan for that. On my most recent visit I ordered the mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. Sometimes bar and grill mac and cheese can be pretty underwhelming, but this was creamy, flavorful, and actually felt homemade. The portions were solid too. The atmosphere is casual and lively, making it a good spot to meet friends, grab a drink, watch a game, or sit outside on a nice summer evening. Is it the best most high quality restaurant in Ada? Probably not. But it is a reliable spot with good food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. It is in my regular roation for food stops in Ada. 4/5 stars from me!

We visited not long after they went live in 2021. It was busy inside and the service was understandably slow. I got the "Homemade Chili", which was apparently made in a condemned home because it was barely room-temperature. I sent it back and had to press my case to get that bacterial culture of a dish taken off the bill. My "Garage Burger" had a bun that was so stale, it clanked when I hit it against my plate. My beleaguered waitress stared at me when I did this and asked, comically, "do you want a new bun?" Why yes, yes I do - preferably one that can't be sharpened into a prison shank, my dear. As the volume in the place progressively increased, I watched another family with younger kids struggle with similar food issues. The dad at that table looked at me knowingly with something akin to PTSD in his eyes and then he abruptly plunked down some cash and gathered his family up and walked out. I paid with a credit card, so it took me a bit longer, but we all left without finishing our meals. I'm not going to say that the food here is a crime against humanity, but I'm going to think it really hard.

Bob's Bar served tater tots with garlic herb cheese curds, house made beef gravy, green onion, and bacon bits. It was great! Felt like it was pretty much what you would want out of a poutine dish. I also got the Chicago dogs which is on their normal menu and these were tasty. I had been craving a Chicago style hot dog for a while and these hit the spot. They got all the toppings right. Especially loved the sport peppers. The basket is served with potato chips. There was some sort of alcohol rep there when we were there and he was handing out free drinks and samplings/shots of alcohol that were on the house so that was a nice surprise! Another nice thing about Bob's bar is their parking! They have a lot that is dedicated only to their customers right across Harlan Ave. Otherwise there is side street parking. Nate and I stopped in last month to grab a snack and catch an MSU basketball game. It was also Super Bowl Sunday, so it was pretty busy even though it was mid-afternoon. We took a table near the door and had a good view of several TVs. The bar is pretty cozy, so it can get a little crowded. A server came over right away and took our order. I got the spicy dry rub wings and Nate ordered the buffalo chicken rangoons. The food took quite a bit of time to come out, but they were pretty busy with a couple large groups. The wings were excellent! I'd had their regular wings before, but the spicy dry rub was really flavorful with a bit of heat. I liked that it wasn't overly salty like some dry rubs I've had elsewhere. The wings themselves were crispy and juicy. The buffalo chicken rangoons were just okay. The filling was pretty sparse and they were a little tough. We'd definitely get the wings again. Note that they give a small discount if you pay in cash. Bob's Sports Bar is a low key neighborhood hangout spot to watch a game or catch up with friends. They have Keno, pull tabs, Chambongs, and daily food and drink specials. There's plenty of free street parking nearby and they have a designated parking lot across the street.

I'm currently sitting at my kitchen table eating grapes in a desperate attempt to cleanse my tongue…read moreof the horrendous taste I just experienced at Gravity. I love pretty much any kind of meat covered in BBQ sauce, so naturally, I ordered the BBQ platter. It came with a variety of meats, including brisket and pulled pork, along with plenty of sides. Because I love BBQ sauce so much, I made sure to ask for extra. When the platter arrived, it honestly looked beautiful. The meat looked tender, the sides looked delicious, and for a brief moment, I thought I had made the perfect choice. Then my nose picked up the extremely pungent smell coming from the BBQ sauce. I should have taken that as a warning, but I remained optimistic. As one does, I generously dipped a piece of pulled pork into the sauce and opened wide for a big bite. The second that sauce touched my tongue, my entire body went into survival mode. I nearly gagged at the table. The only way I can describe the flavor is like someone mixed citrus juice, straight vinegar, battery acid, and the liquid from the bottom of a garbage can, then confidently labeled it "BBQ sauce." It wasn't smoky. It wasn't sweet. It wasn't even pleasantly tangy. It tasted like a lemon had been left to ferment inside a car battery. My mouth immediately started watering, but not in the good way--in the way it does right before your body decides it needs to remove something immediately. My nose hairs nearly fell out. My taste buds began filing formal complaints. I'm pretty sure the sauce stripped a layer of enamel off my teeth and erased several childhood memories. I tried taking another tiny bite because I thought there was no possible way it could be as bad as the first one. It was. Possibly worse. The flavor somehow became stronger after I stopped eating it, lingering in my mouth like an unwanted houseguest who had no intention of leaving. The meat itself may have been perfectly fine, but the sauce completely overpowered everything it touched. Once it was on there, there was no saving it. Not with the sides, not with water, and apparently not even with the pile of grapes I am currently stress-eating at my kitchen table. I went into Gravity expecting a delicious BBQ dinner and left feeling like I had licked the inside of a citrus-scented Duracell battery.
