The bed was very comfortable and quiet location made for a very restful night. Breakfast was basic fare but ample and tasty. Great way to get us on the road. Coffee to go was greatly appreciated too. Both Connie and Rick were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and certainly would stay here again whether we were traveling through or staying in the area for several days.

My friends would say, "Sure, stay here when you're in town. Not a problem at all. We have a guest room, and a really nice backyard. Oh, you're bringing your bicycle(s) too? That's fine; we have a garage where you can keep them safe and dry." What would probably happen next is that we'd avail ourselves of all of this hospitality: my friends would cook us eggs for breakfast, give us glasses of wine in the evening, and let us go about our business in between the breakfast and the wine. And then, not ready to say goodbye to the weekend yet, we would probably go off on a long hike and not come back to collect our bicycles until nigh dark. When we finally made it back, my friends would be worried about us and would have already called around to try to find out whether we were okay. All in all, quite nice. It's good to have old friends in Redding.

The owners have always been very accommodating, friendly and are kind. It is a very rustic building with a lot of history behind it. This is a beautiful B&B and we love it and the ambiance here. The food that was prepared for us was outstanding and top notch. Desserts were superb and I am not a dessert person at all. The town of McCloud is also very quaint & rich in history. There is lots to do in the area such as McCloud falls (all three of them) and much more. My wife and I definitely recommend the McCloud River B&B. Go and enjoy as we have done now several times.

It had hardwood floors, a king bed, loveseat, a bistro table with 2 chairs, an armoire, chest of drawers, and the standard room amenities. The bathroom was away from the living area which was nice. The shower was huge! Everything was clean which was impressive for such a large room. We ordered two Indian dinners from the limited menu. The price was very reasonable, it was delivered to our room, the portions were large, and it was delicious. There was an air conditioner outside that was audibly off and on all night, but once we were asleep it was a non-issue. Breakfast in the morning was terrific. We asked for a specific 30-minute time-frame for delivery. The time could not be guaranteed, but breakfast was delivered as requested. The only negative was the many texts and emails prior to arrival. We plan on returning just to try a different room. We would definitely recommend The Inn at Shasta Lake!

They allow pets in certain rooms which is nice if you're traveling with dogs! I enjoyed how communicative the staff were. If you needed something, you can text a number and they were on it! They advertise that you may not have service here, but we had service and they also had wifi. They had great views outside on the deck. The grounds were nicely maintained. It was very easy to get here and right off highway 5. On the other hand, being a bed and breakfast I was expecting breakfast to be a bit better tasting. Breakfast is included in your stay. They provide fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, coffee, and toast. You get to also choose one main entree served with a side of potatoes. The main entree rotates so it's different daily. Overall breakfast could definitely be improved taste wise, but it's very convenient and nice of them to do this. Another downfall was the temperature in the main lobby/ dining area. They ran it hot in there and if you needed to get ice (they don't have ice machines, so they provide buckets of ice) it was all melted. This happened twice. Minor complaints!

We make it a point to stay at Mt Shasta Ranch when we drive to the Bay Area from Seattle. Each and every time we have been warmly welcomed with fresh homemade cookies, coffee and tea, as well as wine in the afternoon. They are kind, hardworking people living their dream of offering a top notch bed and breakfast in their lovely home. I especially enjoy sundown on the front veranda with blankets, our beverage of choice, a wonderful view of Mount Shasta and the beautiful countryside. The mansion, built in 1923, is well kept and spotless. There is a large dining room with a billiard table and many windows where one can read and watch finches and other birds at the bird feeders. There's also a cozy living room with a fireplace and a lovely wood fire when it is chilly outside. Each time they have offered our choice of rooms when available and been treated like family. The bedrooms, each one tastefully decorated with antiques, feature comfortable beds and thoughtfully curated amenities. There are two separate lodges for families behind the house itself. I also appreciated seeing a pair of horses in the pasture next door. Kris and David are always happy to recommend local restaurants, hikes and other activities. But most of all the this B&B is a quiet and peaceful respite. I know they also host various groups for retreats. We have especially enjoyed meeting other guests at the Mt Shasta Ranch as well. Lastly, a highlight of our stay is Kris's gourmet breakfasts, delicious and varied, served by David who is charming and accommodating. This place is an absolute gem. We highly recommend it.

Situated just 17 miles east of Weaverville, the inn provides the perfect spot for vacationers wanting to escape to serenity. With four rooms overlooking the Trinity River, tranquility soon encompasses guests. The rooms are spacious with all of the comforts of home. Each room has a refrigerator and coffeemaker. For guests who don't want to make coffee, fresh coffee is served in the dining room each morning starting at 7:30. A hot breakfast is served each morning at 8:00. After breakfast lodgers can watch TV, relax on the deck, or walk down to the river--just steps from the inn. There are many outdoor activities visitors can take part in. Many interesting sites are within walking distance of the Old Lewiston Inn. On the corner is an antique store. Just around the bend is the Schoolhouse Museum. The school opened in 1958 when the Trinity Dam was being built. With a short, five-minute drive, you can see the fish hatchery. There are many opportunities for hiking, boating, and fishing on the lake. Visitors can also head to the dam and have a picnic. The local store even has a book exchange for those who love to read. Active guests will enjoy hiking and biking in Lewiston as they search for varied forms of wildlife. Geese, otters, egrets and dozens of other species of birds are abundant in the area. The birds are often seen competing for fish in the local waters. Flying squirrels even inhabit the area. Hundreds of plants dot the landscape including Tiger Lilies, Bleeding Hearts, and Buttercups. Many great daytrip adventures are available as well. The Trinity Alps, Whiskeytown, and Weaverville are all only about a half-hour away. These are all great excursions. Take a day to explore one and make some amazing memories. Take advantage of the inn's week-long special and explore a couple of them.
