The staff and ownership were professional, easy-to-deal with, and honest. There were no deceptions nor hidden costs...just don't hit any rocks! The marina offers several amenities for permanent docking and visitors, including fuel, repair, and a restaurant. Westport is beautiful, but not upscale. It is a much better value than nearby yuppie traps.

We were excited to try the tube and the water skis that came with the boats. However, we did have an issue with the tube as it was a bit deflated. We ended up taking time to go back to the marina for a replacement which unfortunately also deflated after a couple of rides. So if you're looking for a tubing-forward experience, just something to be aware of. Other than that, we would definitely recommend.

Amazing stop at Lynn's marina and Tavern at Lock 12. For starters, this is our third time stopping…read morehere on our Jetski trips. Lynn is the reason we keep coming back. He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. As an example he noticed my brand new trailer was not set up correctly for my boat ("set up" by another dealer) and for very little money pulled my boat, adjusted everything, replaced a cracked roller and lubed the hubs. I have had this engine serviced by others (boat was out of town) and it ran noticeably worse than when Tom did the service. Definitely two thumbs up!

Hidden gem in the heart of lake placid! We decided to take a break from hiking the high peaks with…read moreour 9 and 12yo kids and rented a boat. FYI, they only accept cash or checks. I was a bit apprehensive since we are boating novices, having only used a motorized boat once before. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. We were given a pristine, spacious pontoon (called the Bentley, if that tells you anything :), and the operator gave us crystal clear directions on how to use it. The person helping us also gave us a map of lake placid and pointed out good areas to stop for swimming and fishing. My kids had the time of their lives on the water. The operator was kind enough to suggest bringing one of their floating tubes and a fish net, all for no extra charge. I thought we would only be on the water for 2hrs at most, but we ended up being out for more than 3. The kids said they could have stayed out on the lake all day. We did not catch any fish but we all enjoyed the beautiful view in our clean, spacious pontoon. Given our inexperience, this excursion could have easily gone south, however Captain Marneys clearly cares about its patrons and goes the extra mile to make sure everything goes well. We will be back!

My two biggest complaints are: (1) the price to launch a small human powered boat is too high in my opinion. Just go to the Town Park instead. You can park and launch for free, however you cannot park overnight there if you are island camping. My other gripe (2) is that they have a lakeside grill / food truck which is horrendously overpriced! A kebab and a small dry salmon burger were $24 EACH with no real side, unless you count a single leaf of lettuce. Well, I'll never do that again. What a rip off. It's too bad because it's a cool idea and the place looks cute. I guess it's the whole captive audience thing.

Tom & Jeremy (and their staff) run the nicest marina on the lake and we're very lucky to have it in Huletts Landing. Stop by in your boat or car during the summer and you'll be sure to come back.

Very friendly service from the dock workers who clearly know what they're doing. On the plus side, it's a straight line to back your boat into the water. That definitely would make it easy for someone like me who has no dang clue at reversing with a trailer. On the minus side, it's a heck of a steep hill to get your boat onto the trailer and out of the marina. You're going to need all the possible torque to be successful at driving up the hill. At the top, there was a shady spot that made it easy to get all the day's rubbish and coolers out of the boat so it was ready to transport back to the parking. It would have been nice if they had a dumpster or a trash can up there but they don't. We brought the trash with us instead. Fuel's not cheap, so fill up before you get here.
