It should be noted, the staff checked the boat prior to our departure. Owner is extremely unreasonable and incompetent. Refuses to return phone calls. Go at your own risk.

He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. It is about 40 minutes north of Lake George Village but the solitude is what we were looking for. I definitely recommend this as a spot for a couple or small family.

Jones V has sadly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He died doing something he truly enjoyed. Thomas graduated from South Glens Falls in 2006 and continued on to get an Associate's degree from ACC. After graduating from ACC, he worked at Trustco bank in South Glens Falls for a short time until he realized that he had to follow his dreams. Five years ago, he decided he wanted to open his own business and that is when Devocean Watersports was born. He managed to put together a great team of employees that helped him with boat charters and jet-ski tours on Lake George, out of the hotel "Twin Birches." Thomas loved his business and put everything he had into it. His smile and enthusiasm was infectious to everyone he met along his journey in life. He really enjoyed teaching people how to do things that was out of their norm. Thomas also made many friends down in Marathon within the keys were he went every winter, enjoying life to the fullest. He was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Jones IV. As the other reviewers point out, these guys run a well rehearsed scam to overcharge people after…read morethe rental. We should've just rented from one of the many other providers after reading their negative reviews, but foolishly we didn't and now have to deal with disputing overcharges. Here's how their scam works 1. At the time of rental, the lady at the counter (Michelle) will say you need to fill gas before returning the boat. Makes sense and seems straightforward. 2. At the time of boat pick up - Ethan, the guy at the dock actually signing out the boat - will insist that it's not necessary to bring the boat back with gas if the rental period extends beyond the time the gas station is open. They will just bill us later for the gas consumed at market price. In our case our rental period extended an hour past the time the gas station closed. We asked Ethan to double check if his guidance to us was accurate. He insisted that it's accurate and when we bring the boat back, they will just bill us for the gas consumed at the market price. We asked him to annotate the contract to confirm this, and he insisted it's not necessary - just "trust him". 3. Upon returning the boat, Ethan will hand you a slip saying gas is missing, but will assure you that they'll just bill you at market price for whatever gas was consumed. 4. Ethan will then run up to the counter lady Michelle before you can get there and over there starts the Oscar-worthy drama and deceptive performances. Both Michelle, Ethan and 5-6 of their colleagues will begin scolding you, yelling at you, hurling abuses and other such behavior to intimidate you into agreeing to pay 2x the price for gas for the crime of not filling it before returning. We of course turned to Ethan to ask him to clarify for the group the direction he gave us. But he immediately couldn't recall anything he told us - and began reciting total white lies. By this time we can also smell alcohol on Ethan's breathe. 5. As we were walking out frustrated, a burly man emerges from one of the rooms behind the counter and chuckles out loud, "this is how we get you guys to pay $11 a gallon for gas". We've of course disputed the overcharge with our credit card company and already gotten a refund, but save yourself the hassle and just rent from someone who isn't as crooked as these guys are.
