Such a quaint little restaurant nestled right by Kerr Lake. The staff were super friendly and hospitable and gave us the needed attention our table needed. The menu itself has a decent amount of selection so depending on what you're in the mood for you should be able to find something. Portion size is decent for the price point. Had to re-review after a few years. The restaurant started out great with a Georgianne salad that was so fresh and tasty that I ordered it constantly. I'd take friends and family out for lunch or dinner but not now. We took company that was visiting from out of town recently and the food was awful. The tots looked like they had been slung together last minute and only had half the portion on the plate. The crab corn soup was cold and the burgers for sure had another life before it landed at our table. It was embarrassing to bring company there. read more

We have always had delicious meals at Bridgewater Bar and Grill and today was just delightful. I had Salmon and it was cooked to perfection (tasted better than the Salmon that I get from Bonefish or Ruth Christ....it was spectacular flavors and delicious orzo to compliment it. My husband had the Georgi!nne Salad with Chicken and it never disappoints! The management and waitstaff were just awesome and it is a pleasure to dine there!. Mona and I have lived in Clarksville, VA for almost 20 years, and during that time we've been frequent visitors to the Bridgewater Bar and Grill--typically 3 to 5 times a week. We love our community and do our best to support local businesses. We have often wondered, however, why we rarely see other locals in this restaurant. The food is acceptable--maybe a "B" at best--while the prices are relatively high. Unfortunately, this past Saturday night, June 6th, was the last time we will visit the Bridgewater. Mona ordered a gin and tonic, a drink she chooses about half the time we go out. When it arrived, she took a couple of sips and immediately said it didn't taste right. Since Mona rarely complains, I knew something was off. We suspected the tonic water might have gone bad or that the bartender used the wrong mixer, such as club soda instead of tonic water. I called our server over, and Mona asked whether gin or vodka had been used, as the drink didn't taste like her usual gin and tonic. The server went to the bar to check if something might be wrong with the tonic. A few minutes later, she returned and said they were told nothing was wrong; the staff claimed they didn't see or taste any issue. Mona reiterated that it didn't taste right and asked to return it in exchange for a margarita--another drink she frequently enjoys there. About 15 minutes later, the server brought a margarita in a tall glass with no salt on the rim. Though it wasn't made the way she normally receives it, Mona made the best of it. We then continued with our dinner. After the meal, I paid the bill and noticed we had been charged for both the margarita and the returned gin and tonic. When I asked the server, she said the manager told her the original drink seemed fine and they would not issue a credit. Surprised by this, I spoke directly with the manager/co-owner. I explained the situation, but she was immediately confrontational. She said she had personally tasted the drink and found nothing wrong with it. I responded with something along the lines of, "So, for a $9 drink, you're willing to risk losing a frequent and loyal customer?" She quickly replied, "I won't be threatened." As a fellow business owner, I was stunned. In my experience, customer satisfaction is important, and we do what is reasonable to keep our customers happy. I estimate the cost of making that drink(gin, tonic, and a piece of lime) was under $2, despite the $9 price. Hoping to calm the situation, I clarified that I wasn't threatening her, but simply couldn't understand why they would risk losing a regular customer over a $9 drink. At that point, she began yelling that I had touched her. I honestly don't remember touching her, but if I did, it was nothing more than a brief, friendly touch on the shoulder. She was completely agitated, and there was nothing more I could do. I apologized, returned to the table, got Mona, and we left. Like most people, we go out to relax, enjoy a drink, and have a nice meal--not to be mistreated by a restaurant owner. Sadly, this entire situation occurred over a single $9 drink. We can only imagine what might happen if we ever had to complain about a poorly cooked hamburger or steak. We won't be going back to find out. read more

We boated in from the lake. You can dock boats down the hill by the hotel and walk across to grab a bite. I saw people dressed in all types of ways. We were in fishing gear. Service was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was so sweet and all the others seemed to be as well with their tables. The lady at the front desk seating people was also very welcoming. Restaurant was very clean, even the bathrooms. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were delicious. Sweet tea was perfect to us. We added salads and they are gracious with their servings. House made ranch. Can't wait to go back when we're around this area again. read more

My friend has been here a bunch of times, posting pictures of massive cheeseburgers on his Facebook feed. When I stopped by to visit his family, we came here for lunch and of course, I had a massive cheeseburger. The bacon and pimento burger was fabulous. They'll only cook medium well and well done which is a bit of a bummer but it was still tasty despite being overdone for my taste. Loaded with bacon and pimento cheese, I managed to keep it intact for about two thirds before it collapsed. Fries were nice and crisp. This was a lovely meal and our service on a Sunday afternoon was excellent. I would return to Bridgewater, I just might choose the pasta next time. The Bridgewater Bar & Grill is no "Best Kept Secret" of Clarksville VA, this family run restaurant seems to be the most noted reliable thing in town and the only place to eat and drink on a Sunday evening. Walking into the dining room there's a slight buzz in the air maybe from a sports game on a TV at the bar, but it's never too loud to drown out friendly local's banter. The environment is enjoyable, the service casual, like you're being taken care of by a neighbor rather than a server, and the drinks served with a smile. Whether your liking a salad or one of the many entrees, be prepared for a MEAL, the very generous portions are there to satisfy any size appetite. They offer a wonderful Caesar salad, coated in a dressing that comes with a hint of lemon in place of that repulsive anchovy. Ate lunch here Saturday with family and friends. My husband got the lunch portion meat loaf with sides. It was delicious! I got the shaved prime rib sandwich dip. It was juicy and delicious! The horse radish and ajou dip were made perfect! Fries were great. I could only eat half of my sandwich. My friend got a huge burger and he said it was delicious. The waitress was nice and attentive. I just left maybe about 90 min -2 hours ago. I walked in. Hostess was nice and seated me in a booth. The table was dirty. Whoever was there before me was a pig. The entire table had salt and pepper all over it. A straw wrapper with what looked like a butter pat wrapper was still on the table. Two napkins under my table, on the floor. I brushed off the entire table. I ordered a cup of corn and crab chowder. It came in a large bowl. I ate all of it. It was better than most others I've had. I asked my waitress (who was very attentive), if the shrimp and grits were ready this Early, as on the menu, it said available after 4pm. She said on Sundays it's ready all day. Great, I told her, I'll have that. Again she was attentive. Came back and asked how was my chowder, I told her it was good. She asked if I needed another Ginger Ale and I told her I was good to go. My shrimp and cheesey grits with bacon came out in a huge bowl. It was massive! I was ready to dig in. First bite was a shrimp. It was good. I tasted the sauce with bacon and it so super super salty. I tried to get some grits on my spoon with no bacon. It was hard to do. Bacon everywhere. It was too much and way too Salty. I did try to keep eating it. If there was less bacon and salt I'd have loved it. My waitress came by and asked me about it and did I need a Togo box. I told her the same. To much bacon and way Salty. She stayed very happy and professional. She asked if I'd like dessert and listed all desserts. I chose Banana Cream Pudding. It's one of my faves. This one didn't hit the mark. Maybe, (I'm not sure) but it may have been pre-made and frozen then whipped cream when serving it. It was messy. One more note to mention is...Please wash your windows. I'm sure by the river they get cruddy quickly but it wasn't pleasant to look at. Please take these remarks and work with them instead of responding to my review the way you have responded to others. I visited on a Sunday and the parking lot was full. There was a lot of seating inside and I had no trouble getting a seat at the bar (I wanted to watch football). I ordered the dinner portion of meatloaf and it came with real garlic mashed potatoes (not instant) and green beans which were the vegetable of the day. I'm picky about meatloaf and am sometimes apprehensive about ordering it, never knowing what you're going to get. This place seemed legit, so I gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did. It was wonderful and the gravy was amazing and could probably be sold. I tried the banana pudding, and was less impressed as it was mostly whipped cream. It was fine, I just feel it was very forgettable (not great or bad enough to remember). Service is outstanding and prices are fair. Give this place a shot while you're passing through! read more

Cute modern place, but parking is hard to find. After eating there, I can understand why. The food absolutely slaps. My boyfriend and I ordered the crab dip to start us off, and it was great! Cheesy, flavorful, and the tortilla chips were fresh and salted. As for our drinks, I got their moscow mule, and my boyfriend got one of their beers. Both were tasty. As for our entrees, I got the New Orleans blackened catfish, and he got tank's pimento burger. The catfish was so tender, it was like butter. The sauce was also great, and all of the vegetables just added flavor on top of it. Shrimp were cooked well. As for the mashed potatoes, I was a little worried it might not all work together, but I wouldn't change a thing after having eaten it. They were buttery, cheesy, and seasoned well. It all worked together in a wonderful melody of flavors, and I can see myself eating this again. My boyfriend didn't eat his burger til the next day, but it was great according to him. They have some of the best fries too, salty and crisp, and a good cut to them as well. They're not too thin or too thick, which I appreciated. Was on the search for something hearty before we got to the Blue Ridge Rock Festival and camped out for the following five days. Fortunately, we came across Bridgewater! The food here was SO good. Being a Baltimore girl, I always go for the crab cake and tend to complain about me not feeling full after eating it, having too much extra filing inside or there being annoying shell pieces. Not the case here. I'd highly recommended the crab cake sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was such a large portion that he couldn't finish it! Both were great. Also, the parking lot and surrounding area was safe for our jam-packed truck bed of camping supplies to sit out in the open. No one messed with it--respectful little neighborhood! read more

Drove to Clarksville from South Boston today and stopped here based on Yelp reviews and a few pics. Got the Pimento burger and tater tots. Asked for the burger medium. It comes with homemade pimento spread plus jalapeños braised in honey and beer. Burger was juicy and done properly, spread was tasty and loved the jalapeño. Tots were crispy. Wife got shrimp poor boy which she says she enjoyed. Daughter got chicken sandwich. Service was decent. FYI...Added meal tax and fee for credit card. read more

No draft beer as the taps were broken and most bottled varieties start with Bud, Miller, and Coors; not my line of beers. The service was a bit slow and 20% 'gratuity' was added to our bill. This is the best place to eat in Clarksville VA. There is a nice variety in the menu. I have eaten here multiple times. I have tried salads, burgers, and sandwiches. All very good. So my second review after a couple months. I've had their food several times but someone needs to say it, every bar and grill should have delicious mouth watering wings. The wings are cooked great and their blue cheese is good. But I asked for hot as you can make them buffalo wings. Not hot wings that only taste of brown sugar. Yes! Brown sugar. It's all you can taste in the sauce. Brown sugar in the rub and honey as a binder. These "hot" wings were super sweet and were not hot at all and did not give off a Buffalo wing impression.
