Bridgewater was the original installer of our double car Colplay door and motor. After over 17 years of service, the spring popped and the track system jammed. We go in/out mainly by that door so it gets way too much use for a garage door. Phil, At BOD answered our call and came for a estimate same day. Price was very reasonable. We called for an appointment anticipating a costly repair when our automatic garage door would sometimes but not always refuse to close. They were very prompt, efficient in diagnosing the problem and realigning the sensors. I would definitely use the again when we need to replace our door opener. read more

I have nothing good to write about, I made a deposit of $4,587 for 2 garage doors and one side entrance door on 7/1/20. They install the 2 garage doors but the side entrance door was ordered the wrong size. Even one of the garage door glass was broken and was not install properly. Its been 7 weeks now they got the side entrance door 3 weeks ago but would not schedule the installation because they are busy. I own a business too, if we make a mistake we give priority to those customer first no matter what. So, please stay away from these people if you want no stress 2020 is already a stressful year. I'm with Wesley - There are many garage door company's. Choose Another! They left my new door improperly connected and dangerous. I had to make the proper connection with new parts. There installers need etiquette training and my car had a mysterious dent on the fender after they left. It's been a month since my call to Phil and he still hasn't been over to inspect it. Make sure you have everything done before you pay...... Once you pay, don't expect any return visit!  Phil came out to our home and our old garage door opener was dead so we needed a new one.  He said he was busy but was able to send Olek that night at 6pm.  He was here for 2 hours and installed the opener but was not able to program the remotes controls for our cars.  He promised Phil would come back and do that for us since we paid for them to be programmed.  I texted Phil the next day and he said he was busy but would come back and take care of it for us ASAP. I texted Phil for the next 3 weeks and it was one excuse after another why he could not come back as promised.  He had his money so I guess customer service is not a priority.... read more

Appointments made and kept in a timely fashion. The ladies at the office were good about any updates or changes. Phil did a good job of suggesting the right door for us and even laid out a cost analysis of why we didn't need one with a higher R-value. Jose did a great job changing out the jambs. Guy who came to install the doors also did a great job and explained how to program/use everything. My only complaint is that Phil gets easily distracted and leaves out pertinent information about additional costs (for finishing the jambs) or preparations (clearing out enough space in the garage for installation). I feel like the process would be more cohesive and run smoothly if Phil did a better job relaying information between all the different people working to get the product to the consumer. read more

I recently used this company to install a new garage door. The prices were reasonable and the work is quality, however, scheduling was a challenge. I was given a window for the guy to come give an estimate - he came an hour after the end of the window (I know,bad sign). The installation was supposed to start between 8:30 and 10:30 am and should have taken about 2 hours. At 11:00 am no one was at my house so I called and was told the guy would be there in an hour and they couldn't guarantee that it would only take 2 hours. So I had to reschedule for a different day (after rearranging my work schedule for this appointment). Kathy assured me that the guy would be there at 8:30 am the following week. When they called to confirm the appointment, again, they gave me a time window. I reminded them that this was a reschedule (due to their error) and that they were supposed to come at 8:30 am and they agreed to come at 8:30 am and they actually came at 8:30 am. A lot to go through for a garage door, but as I mentioned before the quality is good and the prices reasonable - and honestly the staff was nice and apologetic. 6 weeks after cashing my deposit of $1038 still no service and excuses and playing the blame game. DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY CONTRACT with them. They are blaming Clopay and everyone else. Look for a BBB post on this company. They now refuse to refund deposit saying that they "researched" during their vacation! And like the post below, it was Phil again - messed up big time and was rude and unprofessional and told me that the deposit cannot be refunded. We shall see. read more

PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! My wife and I wanted to purchase to new garage doors with all new motors and a new set of double front entry doors. We walked in and met Gomez. Great customer service! Took the time to show us the different motors and rail system and how quiet they were. Unfortunately he was not the person we dealt with. Again, we were purchasing a few things so we were ready to buy and knew what we wanted. Instead of Gomez, we got a guy called Phil. As soon as we met him, we should have walked out! After 2 hours of trying to get him on the same page with us, we finally got him to understand what we wanted and scheduled an appointment so that we could get everything measured/ordered. All good right? NO. He (Phil) never showed up. No call, No email, nothing! So after three hours past our appointment time I sent him a text asking where he was. The inappropriate unprofessional text messages that followed were unbelievable. Making it seem like it was our fault for not reaching out to him. If it wasn't for his age and lack of awareness, my responses would have been much harsher. Please go elsewhere!!! Its not worth the WASTED TIME and annoyance. He is the reason so many negative reviews are posted about this business. A complete JOKE when it comes to customer service and business ethics! So start, The Company is nothing like it used to, My father had doors installed 2 years ago; they were very nice and were big into customer service. Things have changed with this company. I had a 9ft door installed recently and all i can say is run from this company There is a guy named Phil there that is now part owner, he defiantly has a complex. He thinks he knows everything, but really knows nothing at all. The installed a door wrong and came back over 8 times to try to fix it, The last time they came to fix it Phil tried to say it was my father's fault, Phil doesn't work on anything, so he had to come back with someone that knew something The other person was very good and showed Phil that the rails were not installed right. (After that he stopped saying that it was my fault) All i can say is this company is nothing like they use to be now that Phil is part owner, If you ever need customer service for something that they installed wrong. This business deserves 0 stars. I called and spoke with a very nice woman who quoted me a price of $400. The guy showed up today on time and began to explain that the price would really be over $600. He was rude and completely disinterested in anything I had to say. He all but accused me of lying when I told him that I wasn't informed of any additional charges. This company is a classic bait and switch operation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Like the other reviewer I suggest several bids and make sure that what is quoted is actually what is charged. Called this place to come and replace a coil on my garage door. Guy who picked up initially said he could schedule it in for next week. But was nice enough to squeeze in this quick repair offering an early appt. today. Considering he was dealing with some injuries and still came and replaced it says a lot about the man. All I can say is there are many door places. CHOOSE ANOTHER! I walked in one day and scheduled an appointment with the owner Phil. We agreed upon work and price that needed to be done. Honestly, just meeting this guy should have turned me away. So anyway, we scheduled a day on his huge unorganized dry erase board behind the desk. I had my pick for the time and day I needed. First one on the board for the day. Told him it had to be in the AM as I work afternoons. All settled right? I wish! I got a call less than 24 hrs before the appointment that it was gonna be the afternoon because the couldn't fit me in any other time. Wait, I was first on the board! Told them I could not do it. Was told that Phil would call me back. NO CALL. The next day they show up in the afternoon just as I was leaving. My husband and I had a horrible experience with this company and would not recommend their services at all! We scheduled this company to come out to our house and install a garage door opener. They had initially informed us that it would not be a problem to install. However, when technician Russ came to our house, he took one look at our garage and said that there was not enough clearance to install the unit. He said he could install some low brackets so that the door would hang lower, but that he did not have the brackets with him and that he was not certain if it would provide enough clearance. He left us with no concrete answers and made no attempt to schedule a follow-up appointment. He did not call his boss to check and, honestly, acted like he could care less. When I asked if he would be coming back that day with the pieces to see if it would work, he said that he had other jobs to do. I then asked to speak to the owner, as I wanted some answers. He gave me Anthony's name and the main number. I called and reached Kathy. She said that Anthony was in a meeting and that he would call me back. After no call, I called back and Kathy said that Anthony was on the phone and would call me right back. I called again at 4pm and, lo and behold, Anthony was now out giving estimates. When I asked what the deal was, Kathy stated that they were not going to be able to help me due to the fact that our door was not installed properly (previous owner installed door right before closing). She was quite rude and it was obvious I was being blown off. She even told me they had lost "200 to 300" dollars of business by coming out to my house (despite that the job would have been a $500 job). Is that really how you talk to a customer, like they wasted your time???? In the meantime, while waiting for Anthony's call back (which I never received), I called another company, Metropolitan Garage Door Company in Scotch Plains, NJ. They came out and did a free estimate right away. I had an appointment scheduled for the job to be done a few days later. Metropolitan agreed the job was tougher due to the poor installation of the door (from previous owner), but that with a few extra pieces it was definitely doable. I was mortified by the customer service I received by Overhead Doors, Inc. I really wish they had handled the situation better. I want to warn others about my experience so that they can make an informed decision before choosing this company. read more

this place is pretty ridiculous...talk about taking advantage of people! all i will say is that make sure you get multiple estimates and once you decide to go with bridgewater overhead doors, make sure you take stock of exactly what they're doing. these guys came and installed a bad gear in my garage (which broke down again in 2 weeks) and they won't replace it saying the new gear has no warranty unless it was replaced in connection with the replacement of the motor! don't ever use these guys! read more

What a find!!! Honest, professional and great work. I thought I needed 2 new overhead garage door motors as that is what another door company had told me. It would cost $2,000. I was told they were completely broken and couldnt be fixed. My cousin Jeff referred me to Bridgewater Overhead doors. He is very particular and said they had great prices and did a fantastic job. The women on the phone was helpful and made a timely appointment. Two new motors with labor would cost $795---alot less than previous quote. However when the very knowledgeable technician came out he fixed them in one hour for $126!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. read more

We just purchased a new home that needed new garage doors and a one new motor. We called Bridgewater Overhead Doors for a quote. Adam came out to give us an estimate and he was very informative and professional. He sold us on a new motor and 2 new doors. He said the existing motor was in fine working condition. He told us that he would have the technician rewire the existing motor because the person who previously wired it did an unsafe job. He also told us we would receive 2 new remotes that would have different buttons for each door. The existing motor would be programmed into said remote as it was universal. Adam said that the technician would be there between 8:30 am and 9 am the following Friday. This was important to us as we had not moved into the house yet and had to make arrangements for someone to be there when the tech arrived. I received a call from the office Thursday letting me know that the tech would be there Friday 10ish. I told her the time Adam told us and that we were counting on that start time but I made a few calls and made it work for someone to be there Friday for 10am. The tech showed up at 11:20 on Friday! The tech told me that he was not rewiring the existing motor. He also told me that the new remotes would not work the existing motor. I told him again that Adam said it was a universal remote and both doors would work on one remote. The tech said he would do what he could but he doubted it would work. I called the office and got Adam on the phone. He said he would take care of everything and he did. When the tech left, I had 2 working doors, remotes and motors along with new tracks and hardware. I was glad everything worked out in the end. Over the weekend (which was moving weekend) one of the doors got stuck open. I called Bridgewater Overhead Door on Sunday afternoon hoping to leave a message for them to call me ASAP in the morning so we can get the problem fixed. To my surprise, someone answered. He told me his name was Phil and he was the owner. I told him about my experience with his company from start to finish and he seemed concerned and eager to fix our issue. He told me he lived in my town and he would come by that day between 5:00 and 7:00. I was pleased he was going to be able to take a look that soon as the door was stuck open. He told me it was probably something with a sensor, easy to fix. If not he would send a tech Monday to rectify the problem. Phil called me back at 10pm and woke up my infant in the process. He sounded drunk when he told me that the he forgot to come by. I told him that I expected more from the owner of the company and that this is a further reflection of how poorly his company is run if the owner can't even keep his word. His voice got loud and he told me how it was Sunday and that he did me a favor by telling me he would come by then anyhow. I reminded him that he in fact did not come by or even call for that matter and that he answered the phone at his business on a Sunday. All of these reasons are why I would never recommend Bridgewater Overhead Door. read more
