I am so impressed. We have a HIGHLY fearful dog at the vet. To the point where his old vet did all his visits outside and didn't actually accomplish anything other than his yearly vaccines. We moved to the area and I called BVH to make an appointment. They called our old vet, got all of his details, and made sure they scheduled him on a procedure day to make sure they could sedate him if needed. We arrived and they gave him a bandana with happy pheromones to help make him comfortable. Dr Silvers tried the exam with a muzzle, but our pup was not having it. We agreed to come back later that day when they could sedate him. We could have left him, but didn't want to add stress to the situation so we appreciated being given the option to bring him back. They also gave us the estimate up front, so that we could make a decision before moving forward. Dr Aulisio was our vet when we returned and she was wonderful. We quickly muzzled our pup for the sedative and she was able to do the entire exam (something he hasn't had in the 2 years we've had him!). He got all of his vaccines, blood drawn, nails clipped, the works, with almost no stress put on our pup. We just received a call to check in on him. I had my first visit to this veterinary hospital this past Tuesday. My cat hadn't been to a vet in a few years. She needed to be thoroughly checked. That didn't happen. She was also having a few obvious issues that were not handled well. The vet was not compassionate to my cat or myself. The visit was also very expensive. Maybe cats and people are not the Vets' specialty. I will never return to this vet hospital. read more

This vet's office attempted a surgery they were not qualified to do. When things went sideways they had to contact their client to come pick up their dog up and take him to an emergency hospital because they could no longer help him. Then the office proceeded to charge her $800 or they would not release her dog to get the immediate medical attention he needed. I suggest people find a better vet office in Bridgewater to use and said client needs to get an attorney. Incompetence is abound here. read more

We loved going there when we saw Dr Feeny, there were no issues. We started getting nurse visits and Dr Arbach overseeing. The fear free policy implemented appeared to have the opposite effect on my Australian Shepherd as in his whole lifetime I have never seen him see a person and cower in fear. They refused to attempt to cut his nails even when on a full dose of sedative with its just his breed will do this. They also charge about 40% more than other vets who actually have better quality service. When I entered the office from the moment I left I did not feel welcomed and more of an annoyance for the staff. They complained openly about not wanting to be there and I even heard the doctor say about my Aussie that if he does xyz we just won't treat him. My Aussie is a 1 year old, he will never learn if you don't offer a pleasant experience, constantly refusing his basic care is not what I expected when going to a vet. I have since moved to another vet with higher quality of bedside manner, affordable pricing and care and it was night / day comparison. They also had no issues trimming his nails for free read more

He's seen my cat Mickey twice on short notice and he's obviously very skilled at his profession but is also quite compassionate and you can tell how much he loves working with animals. What an incredible experience with Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital! I am a very anxious pet mom. They were so gentle, kind, and put my mind at ease. My cat had to go have a rash checked out. They were petting him, telling him he was a good boy, and handled him so gently. My poor baby had an accident in his carrier and Dr. Rizzitano and vet tech, Cailey, cleaned him up with some waterless shampoo. Another tech even took my carrier in the back and cleaned it up for me! They evaluated him, then went over a treatment plan with me. He did a very thorough exam even though we were just there for a rash. The front desk was so friendly, too. After a traumatizing experience at Red Bank Vet in Hillsborough, this was a HUGE relief. I highly recommend them!!! They are a Fear Free and Cat Friendly practice. The staff are all so kind and attentive. I trust when they make suggestions and I've never felt forced or guilted into purchasing extras. They give the options so I can make an informed decision regarding the health of my Ridgeback puppy who also loves the staff. After 8 month journey in this hospital they become all about money !!! I toke my dog for sever allergy which every visit I spend out of pocket no insurance between 200 to 500 and they never found what is the problem . They recommended weekly medical shampoo which I had no problem and because I trusted them more I toke my dog every week for the groomer for shampoo . In few months I missed one appointment due to the flood , I had no way to get their and I called them and let them know . I have appointment on the 20th , I receive a call today to let,e know the groomer want $50 deposit because I missed and apt due to the flood ( keep in mind they canceled on me one apt too because the groomer needed that day off , which I understood) . The groomer don't make the policy . This is pathetic and sad . I didn't ask you for deposit when you canceled on me !!!! Neither anywhere in your policy say you need a deposit for grooming !!!!!!!! And after a $700 bill, I didn't even get any treatment. Yes, you read that correctly. $700 for a bunch of tests just to confirm that my dog had a bacterial infection. And they didn't give me any medication. I've been trying to call them for two weeks now to get an antibiotic but they keep saying they don't have it. So I'm stuck with a suffering dog and relying on home remedies, despite the $700 I had spent. Go somewhere else. Trust me. read more

Started off very nice, friendly and helpful. However over time, the staff became rude and it was clear they were only in it for the money. They required us to give our dog 4-6 pills prior to every visit because of his anxiety when he was there. He does not have anxiety any other time except when he's there so it seems to be a problem with them. I tried to make an appointment this morning as my dog had an upset stomach and they refused to see him without us giving him all the anxiety pills which I didn't want to do if his stomach wasn't right. my cat had accidentally gotten into some advil, no vets in my area would take him in. my regular vet said that bridgwater has amazing service and that they are very good with animals. I am a very anxious cat momma, y'all with cats know how it feels. you can tell that they truly care and love their clients. I truly feel so thankful to have this vet take in my cat, we waited less than a half hour and everyone was extremely kind and helpful. They were extremely understanding with everything. Dog presented with distended bladder. Stone had lodged in the urethra. Stone dislodged by Vet ( and as played out, tore the urethra from the bladder. ) Surgery to remove remaining stones. Dog allowed to rip catheter out post op??? No cone. . Hours later, Unable to urinate, fluid in abdomen. Vet suggested a money grabbing ultrasound, which would have zero diagnostic value. Insisted that they tap and examine the fluid which confirmed urine. Said they were going to reoperate immediately. 8 (eight) hours later they just started the surgery because they said he was stable and they had "Emergencies" The urethra was necrotic and the dog was put down. $$$$ Terrible, terrible service. I think they still owe me money as it was "pay first". Sickens me to go back and of course they haven't sent a cheque (three years ago..). If my dog was a human, it would be a lawsuit. read more

My dog needs ACL surgery and so far between Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital and it's partner just diagnosis I already spent $1500 and they have not started the surgery. This practice pretty much killed our dog. Our basset hound began having seizures at approximately six years old and was very, very regularly given blood tests on top of medication (obviously). My point is that as a HUMAN who suffers from a seizure disorder I am tested less regularly than my dog was. Now, when our dog was 10, in an emergency situation he was diagnosed as being "riddled with tumors" ... after all of that bloodwork they didn't notice this??? He was only ill for three days thank goodness before going to an advised emergency clinic on a Sunday where he was sadly too far gone. Don't trust them with your pets. I could not recommend a vet any more highly! They are so flexible and accommodating, you can see their passion and love of animals, and the facilities are really top of the line. They've been wonderful with our cats- especially in the past few weeks when one had to have major surgery. I know one thing that animal owners often worry about is end of life care for their pet. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with this at BVH, but the other day I was in when an elderly woman had to put her cat to sleep. Not only do they have a private room dedicate to this, but the staff was incredibly caring- before the woman left, one of the women behind the front desk came out just to hug her. The care and consideration they give to their patients and their owners is so incredible- truly unlike any other vet I've known! read more

We have been taking our dogs to BVH for 15 years. We are completely done at this point with this Vet. Not only do the doctors and staff have no regard for ones time that makes an appointment, they make up lies and excuses to try and make you feel as the one responsible for not being able to be seen on time. I waited 45 minutes last night with a completely empty vet and I walked out. It was pretty ridiculous that after 30 minutes the VET sent in a tech with an estimate for services for today and the future. (only after walking to the front desk telling them it has been 30 minutes and nobody has come in). So the Vet had time to write up an estimate for 30 minutes with the tech before he even saw my dog. Yes that right the dog was never seen in its life by this doctor and had no past medical record and an estimate is handed to me about what she needs. You would have thought after I walked out and went home they would have called me back to discuss. No call. My hourly rate is 350.00 per hour so they are getting a bill from me for my time. If its not paid, I will send them to collections. Rude and unprofessional. You hear about places like this, I can't believe it turned into what it is. One last thing is that when I walked in I had inquired about possibly boarding my dogs there on the weekend. While I waited there for 45 minutes without service they said i could not tour the facility because it was not clean and someone was cleaning up after a dog. I have been a customer here for almost 15 years and they have taken great care of our two dogs and our cat. This is a place that really cares about your pets and the staff and doctors are always friendly, sympathetic, and knowledgeable. They treat your pet like it's their own. They successfully performed a new stem cell procedure on our dog who was limping due to an arthritic condition.They keep up to date on the newest medical practices. We brought our new rabbit in for a check up and the doctor and staff were terrific. They were very knowledgeable about rabbit care and had a great educational chat with my 11 year old daughter on how to feed and groom the bunny. The veterinary assistants taught my daughter how to clip the bunny's nails herself so we wouldn't have to return for that. Considering they make money from grooming services, I was impressed that they would encourage her to do it herself and gave her the hands on (or is it paws on? ) training. This past week, our elderly cat died at home. We were able to bring him to them for cremation. The office staff could not have been more kind or compassionate. My pets have been coming to the veterinarians for 20 years. Last year when my dog was sick Dr Levinson spent time going over treatment options and was incredibly patient. My dogs have had great care seeing any of the other doctors too. Dr Levinson even called to follow up and provide support when we had difficult decisions to make. There is no rushing during visits to the office. The front desk helpers are Danielle and Jessica are accommodating. I don't understand the poor reviews. We were given an immediate appointment, and didn't have to wait more than 10min for the tech and vet to come in. They were streamlined, efficient, and compassionate with my dog. I found their prices to be very reasonable. If one wants budget veterinary care, they can use the Petsmart Vet. You get what you pay for. Additionally, follow up visits are $40. Those complaining about cost are unreasonable! My only suggestion to BVH is: It's nice that you text and call two days prior to confirm appointments. However, don't call people at 8:30am. That's too damn early for a reminder call from the vet. I brought my newly adopted kitten here after I noticed she had symptoms of feeling sick and if I could go back in time I would have never brought her here. Maybe she would still be alive and well, especially since she was diagnosed with a slight fever (still playful and active and all) but Bruce Levinston administered a strong antibiotic shot called Convenia on her without our consent or explaining any information about the drug. The moment we brought her home she was extremely lethargic, refused to eat or drink, and grew weaker day by day. Three days later, we found ourselves bringing her little body to get cremated because such a small kitten could not handle the medication. We've talked to other trained professionals who pretty much said that the likely reason of her death was due to the poor choice of medication the vet made. Felt very rushed and staff did not help answer questions, each staff member we encountered advised something different/contradicting than the next. Our puppy was a rescue and was diagnosed with a intestinal worm. There was very limited information given to us at the time of diagnosis, besides telling us to give her a pill for 5 days. We then later found out from our dog sitter that our puppy shouldn't be in contact with other dogs because it was very contagious. This is something we feel should of been shared but wasn't. One staff members told us she needed a negative stool sample after 5 days of the medication, then another member told us 30 days. In addition I then later took my puppy for a "free" nail trimming a few weeks later. My puppy was taken to the back room, then less then 5 mins later the nurse came back out and advised me that my puppy "did not do well" and "peed and pooped all over the room". She also added that my puppy would need a sedative if I was to ever bring her back for a nail clipping. Another thing they tried charging for, I refused to buy the sedative. Everything felt rushed with limited information given to me. I was worried about what fears my puppy might so I asked questions, but the nurse was very short with me. Two weeks later I took my puppy to PetSmart to get her nails trimmed, NO ISSUES. PetSmart said that she was well behaved and had no bad reactions. She was even licking the groomers face as I looking through the glass window. Also, their rewards program gives you "1 point" for every $100.00 you spend. But if you spend $198.00 they only give 1 point. You need to spend even amounts of $100.00 in order to receive the "full points". Example $200=2 points, $198.00= 1 point and it does not backlog. Kate the groomer spent 30 minutes chit chatting to my friend and I at drop off, not about dogs, just about her problems. My friend and I had to EXCUSE ourselves for her to stop talking. She left the other dogs in the back while she did this. Then later in the afternoon she called me and said she did not have the time to groom my dog. SO my 13 year old dog sat in the crate all day, I drove back to Bridgewater (25 minutes each way) to pick up my ungroomed dog. She wasn't that apologetic but she did offer the next groom for free since it was almost 2 hours out of MY day to drive back and forth and she kept my dog crated for no reason and crates give my dog anxiety. When I went back for the "free" grooming due to the inconvenience and trauma to my dog they went to charge me the full amount. Not only that but Kate sneakily texted me when I picked up my dog (yes I have the text)that she would no longer be taking large dogs. She NEVER previously mentioned this. My guess is that she never told management that she had a client who's dog she never got to groom because she was too busy talking. The grooming itself was below mediocre. I called the office to explain, shocking but no calls back. If you want a groomer who is more interested in chit chatting in the lobby than tending to the dogs in back, a below mediocre groom then Kate is your girl. Otherwise try someplace else. read more

I will never understand a bad review about BVH. Dr. Levinson saved my cat's life many years ago when no other vet knew what was wrong with him and how to help him. The people that work there are very friendly. The facility is clean and modern. They are very kind when you have to put your pet down, as well. We purchased a miniature beagle from a well known and renowned breeder from Oklahoma a few years back. The puppy was flown direct by United Airlines. At times, animals do not transfer well and our puppy arrived quite sick, feeble and weak. To be frank, we did not think she was going to survive. We contacted the breeder, and the breeder took little to no responsibility, and offered little help. We immediately took her to see Dr. Levinston. Dr. Levinston and his staff exhibited tremendous compassion and diligently helped Riley regain her strength and wellness over the course of two weeks. If it were not for Dr. Levinston, we would have had to bury our beagle - it was inevitable. Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital is a family owned and managed practice. Your pet is family. NEVER go here for putting your beloved pet down. Besides being expensive overall, they charged $200 extra for me to be in the room with my cat when he was put to sleep. I didn't realize how absurd this was until I realized that other vets do not do this. Everyone should be entitled to be with the pet at the end of their life, why would it cost extra for your presence is beyond me. I did pay the extra like any good pet owner would, and as I was attempting to ask the vet questions on how the process would be and spend the last moments with my pet, she completely ignored me and gave the injection without warning. He died without any warning to me and I was completely shocked. I will never forget those last moments with my pet who I considered to be a family member. Unprofessional and disheartening, especially because I am a nurse. Felt compassion from the vet techs, zero professionalism or compassion from the vet. Have not taken any of my pets there since. Go elsewhere where you won't be unethically charged financially to give love and support to your pet at the end of their life. Horrible experience. read more

They will always push overpriced products and procedures on you. - Little regard for health and happiness of pet: they want to give your animals expensive unnecessary treatments even when they are old and there's no point - Outrageously overpriced. Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital has the most understanding, kindest and knowledgeable doctors and nurses. They also have the most state of the art machines and surgery techniques, as well as keeping everyone informed and educated about how to keep your animal happy, safe and most of all... healthy! They are also affiliated with rescue groups where you will find some kitties in the lobby area waiting to be given to a good home. They do treat everyone's animal as if it were their own!!! The doctors are good.The nursing staff is good However, if you have pet insurance which is pretty comprehensive and great but the front desk staff in this place really don't do a good job submitting the claims . We are relatively new clients to Bridgewater. Our dog needed emergency care and when the ultrasound was sent the next day to Bridgewater, the vet called to follow up. The ultrasound indicated that our boy's illness was terminal and the Dr. wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed to make the treatment decision that was right for my boy. I can not say enough about BVH! They are the best of the best. From the girls at the front desk to the awesome vet techs and the knowledgeable doctors. We usually see Dr. Silvers who is amazing and knows his patients. But we just had an experience with Dr. Arbach and her compassion is remarkable. We had to say goodbye to our beloved cat. She not only fully explained everything and stayed with us giving us her full attention but she had such concern for all of us. The next time Dr. Silvers saw us he was also so compassionate and was aware of everything that took place. We have only seen Dr. Levinston a couple times but he is also a great doctor who cares!
