    Coworking space
    Jared S.

I have been working from home for the last two years. It was great at first but became stale and confined over time. I came to the realization that it is no longer healthy to be so isolated and I must take action - especially since our office just closed again. As I build my new routine to start the year, I found this great coworking space over in Long Beach, which is about 20-ish minutes away from me. I called this morning and spoke to Kristen. She gave me a tour and discussed the ins-and-outs of the various setups. She was super friendly and not pushy in the slightest. I'm currently doing a trial to see if it's a good fit. So far so good! It's good to get out of the house and be around fellow remote workers and entrepreneurs, all working and focused on their own tasks at hand.

Very convenient and affordable. I like that I can have my meetings in different spaces and the staff are very accommodating.

We did not stay at an Air B & B because we needed handicapped accessibility, so the hotel worked out great. I booked a handicapped, double beds, and ocean view. They gave us a corner room on the eighth floor. The View was amazing! I overheard an employee saying that the rooms were recently updated. I would NOT say that the rooms were run down, but the attention to detail in the rooms and hallways is noticeably missing, particularly for the price of stay. Couple of small examples. The toilet paper holder was drooping off the wall. Every time I went to tear a piece off, the whole roll would fall. Also they placed one of the hand rails behind the toilet. Handicapped room, so great. However, they did not place it high enough on the wall for the toilet lid and seat to clear it, which caused the seat to constantly fall. Also the paint did not exactly look like it was applied by anyone that pays attention to detail. As far as the good, beyond the location and view. The staff were super friendly. I can not say enough kind words about all the staff I encountered. They were all very friendly and attentive. The room was clean. It was also easy to find street parking during the night. A day or two after we departed they sent me a text offering 25% off if I come stay again within the next two weeks. Given that I don't live downstate, that is not likely to happen. I do have to go back to Long Island next year for a wedding in Suffolk County. Given the price, I am not sure it would be worth it to stay there and travel to the wedding. Maybe if they had offered 25% off my next stay, without an expiration date, I might have considered staying there when I go back down again for the wedding.

We saw the waitress ( unfortunately we didn't get her name) waved to her and she turned away and left. I went to the host desk and a very kind, hardworking gentleman gave us some menus. We continued to wait so I went to the bar and bought a round for the 4 of us. Finally the waitress came over and rudely said , so I see you got your own drinks. I thought she was joking and she said she would be back, I said wait it has been an hour can you take an order. She said I'll be back left and never returned. The kind host came back, took our order and we eventually got food. Unfortunately of all the items we ordered, the only thing decent was the burger. The pizza was straight out of the freezer, the bao buns dried out and the steak sandwich raw. We missed the movie on the beach. Shout out to Dennis at the bar and Karleke the host. That short waitress with attitude Friday night should be released.

There is convenient parking for the restaurant across the street too. We were playing on the patio where they have a tremendous outdoor bar staffed by very talented and well organized bartenders. They were all on top of their game taking care of the many patrons. They have plenty of dining space outdoors as well and a tremendous amount of outdoor seats and couches to relax while you listen to the music and dance. I decided to order the spicy roll and the Steve roll while on a break. I noticed their sushi earlier and it looked amazing. The 2 rolls I had were just loaded with tuna and were huge. There were 8 pieces per roll and when I finished, I was stuffed. The rolls were so plump and full of flavor, just amazing. Along with the 2 rolls, there was a nice serving of a salad that was made of seaweed and grab in a sesame oil, so delicious. This place is really awesome and a great venue to enjoy the outdoors, especially on a nice summer evening! I highly recommend the Waterview at The Bayview!

But their underrated strong-point is how organized and accommodating they were. The weeks leading up to my wedding they were so organized. They consistently let me know what I still needed to do and helped me in every way possible to have what I wanted. I'm still speechless about how incredible they were the day of. They coordinated absolutely everything. They made sure the groom and I were having a good time and wrapped up so much food for us - they truly went above and beyond. First impressions: Our hostess, Janine is a bubbly, bright, breath of fresh air. Ambiance: "Soft Casual", I.e. you feel good in nice jeans, leather and bling. Service: Outstanding! The servers, especially Joe, were attentive without being annoying. Food: Fresh hot bread(s); Generous and fab Fried Calamari and decent Crab cake appetizers (I'm picky being from the Chesapeake Bay region); Excellent Short Rib Pasta and oh so good Shrimp and Crab Pasta entrees! We had the Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream but I wish I had room for the cheese cake and chocolate ambrosia cake! I think the Chef loves whipped cream almost as much as I do! Easily enough food for a family of 4 for two consecutive dinners! I now understand why everyone had take away bags! They have a prixe fixe menu for the remainder of the year so do make sure to stop by. I know I will. (Reservations recommended).

What was most impressive was we were waited on by the owner of the joint, David! He was so friendly and sweet, changing the temperature to our needs and offering suggestions on his menu. Unlike most places during LIRW, this restaurant serves full size menu options and not the watered down, miniature versions that most other places do. She chose the Mac & Cheese as her app, I chose the Crab Cakes. I've never been a big fan of Mac & Cheese at restaurants because they just can't compare to my mama's, but I was impressed. This 7-cheese Mac and Cheese was so rich and delicious. You can taste the different cheese throughout and there was more than enough for us to share. The Crab Cakes were delicious! Although, I can't say I was able to pull chunks of crab like I had hoped, they were still delicious accompanied by the caper sauce drizzled on top. We shared our apps because they were so plentiful, and we almost forgot we had entrees and desserts left! As an entree she chose the Shrimp Scampi, which came with rice, veggies and more shrimp than I've seen on a plate - skewered and sauced to PERFECTION. I chose the Short Rib pasta - which was a plate full of rigatoni in a savory brown sauce with grape tomatoes, shaved parmesan and enough short rib to eat in every bite. Needless to say, we had to take our desserts to go. Hers was a chocolate cake and mine a Creme Brûlée. I was pleased when the server (who took over for David) let me know because it was being taken to go, the Creme Brûlée wouldn't hold up well, but they had a good alternative. Overall, I definitely feel like I got more than my $29.95 price tag for the meal between quality and service. I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area, and will definitely be coming back.
