As any blonde knows, finding a colorist who can do your color correctly is extremely hard to find, but Briggette is the answer you're looking for! I hadn't had my hair cut or highlighted in over a year, so to say I was looking a REALLLL hot mess is an understatement. But Briggette never made me feel judged or self-conscious about the state of my hair. In fact, she had me send her photos ahead of my appointment, and she literally knew EXACTLY what I was looking for after seeing just two pics of my awful hair. Her gregarious and compassionate personality came through over texts/emails, and when I arrived at her private studio, I already felt like I had known her for ages. I found Briggette via yelp and I'm so glad I did! Not only did I find my new go-to but also a new friend! Last week, I was searching for a nearby hair stylist to style my hair for a photo shoot. My photo shoot began at 1030am and I couldn't find any hair salons that were open early. I called and emailed Briggette, and she replied almost immediately. We talked briefly on the phone, and she told me upfront that she doesn't do editorial up-do's if that was what I was looking for (I wasn't - just needed a natural hairstyle that fit my personality). We set up an evening time (the night before my shoot). The moment I stepped into Briggette's apt, I felt at ease. I could instantly feel her creative, positive, friendly energy. She first offered me some wine (yes, please!) and asked me a few questions. I honestly had no idea what I was looking for. I had a vague vision for the style I wanted, but that's it. She also asked me if I loved my hair color (it was starting to turn brassy, so no) and my cut. My last cut was last month but it wasn't my favorite. I trusted Briggette and let her do her magic. Briggette is so fantastic and I am really glad I decided to visit her. I had recently gotten highlights that I was unhappy with -- they were streaky and a very unflattering brassy/orange tone. I reached out to Briggette to ask whether this is the kind of thing she might be able to help me fix, and she asked me to send her some photos of what my hair looked like, and what I hoped they could look like, and we set up a time for me to come in. She was incredibly thorough in talking through with me what kind of look I was going for, and offered me the various options I had to do a color correction. Hair color is such an intricate science that most people don't understand, and Briggette took the time to explain why my new highlights had turned out the way they did, and the different methods she could use to try to correct them. It is clear that she takes a lot of pride in what she does and that she really knows what she is doing. What also impressed me so much is that she never left my side -- literally from beginning to end, she was standing next to me to check the color as it progressed, and was absolutely meticulous. What a contrast from so many other experiences I've had, where the artist will paint the color on, set a timer and walk away, and that's kind of the end of their engagement. In the end, I ended up with what I told her was the "hair of my dreams" -- subtle, honey golden highlights (and to my delight, she was able to camouflage all of the orange highlights). Usually I would dye my own hair , but I decided to look for a colorist who would be able to do the color I actually wanted. I found Briggette on instagram and messaged her , soon after I was at her nice and cozy studio. Being my first time not actually at a hair salon but instead in a private studio where no other people waiting, no distraction, or even rushing , I was completely comfortable! I have never felt so sexy in my life! After months of being an experiment for my cousin who is in school for hair my own hair began to show noticeable signs of damage and strain. I have never. Ever. Ever. Felt so relaxed and taken care of during a hair color appointment in my life. I was treated to a gorgeous, clean and private studio and of course my favorite Nespresso espresso. My hair was all sorts of crazy when I arrived at Bridgett's. I had terrible Balayage done to my hair 6 months back with an equally awful haircut. My color was spotty, pieces of my hair stripped of color and my hair breaking off due to the bleach damage. Briggette heard and saw my concerns and validated them. I naturally have dark hair and for the summer I wanted to really lift up my color and go lighter for a fun fresh look and also keep my length despite the damaged ends ( so demanding I know! ) Opting out of Balayage, Briggette painstakingly and patiently gave me full head of lowlights and baby lights. Getting my hair done in the past was always a "Please let this be over soon" process. Nope! Not this time.
