Horrific experience. I went to Taylor to lighten my black-colored hair, and instead of approaching the process safely over multiple sessions, he attempted to do it all at once. My hair looked acceptable the day of the appointment, but within weeks it began severely breaking off. I ended up losing the top two rows of my hair, which are now only about an inch long. I had naturally long, thick, healthy hair before this, and the damage has been devastating both emotionally and financially. I've since had to spend a significant amount on treatments just trying to repair what can be repaired. What shocks me most is that I've colored and lightened my hair for years and, in 39 years, I have never experienced damage remotely close to this. This level of breakage comes from negligence, poor judgment, and a complete disregard for hair integrity. The Salon presenting itself as a highly rated professional establishment is honestly unbelievable given the outcome I experienced. I would strongly caution anyone considering major color work here to think very carefully before trusting them with your hair. read more

This place is way too chaotic and unprofessional for me. As a first time client I was shuffled to multiple chairs for no reason (spent like 20 min sitting in the back of the salon, not in a treatment chair, next to the bathroom and trash). The "senior" stylist I was assigned to spent zero time with me and was very obviously double booked, she worked on another woman the entire time- everything I had done was completed by one of the salon assistants including shampooing, coloring, and my blow dry. The salon itself is pretty low budget and no frills - does not warrant the pricing. They clearly don't care about the customer experience unless you're perhaps a regular - while everyone was sweet and I'm sure they may have some talented colorists, I will not be returning and would not recommend. I arrived on time for my appointment, checked in, and was left waiting for 45 minutes without a single update or acknowledgment. From a business standpoint, this indicates a breakdown in scheduling coordination and client management. During this time, I observed staff members speaking among themselves, including Mitchell, who attended to another client while I was still unaddressed. As a business owner myself, I find it concerning when a team is unable to prioritize or communicate effectively with clients who have scheduled appointments. The consultation with(Lana)"like lint in Spanish", so the consultation; I received made the situation worse. The stylist who spoke to me displayed a dismissive and unprofessional attitude that was entirely unnecessary. Professionalism does not require perfection, but it does require basic respect and competency. Neither was demonstrated. After nearly an hour of waiting, I was told they would not be able to take me at all. This resulted in wasted time, transportation costs, and a completely avoidable negative experience. No explanation, no accountability, and no attempt to correct the situation. I strongly recommend that management review the camera footage and address the customer service and staffing issues that are clearly occurring. The level of disorganization and disrespect I encountered does not align with industry standards or the expectations of paying clients. I will be filing formal reports with the appropriate consumer channels, not out of spite, but because businesses should be held accountable for the service they provide,or fail to provide. read more

Absolutely loved the salon. I felt like my stylist wasn't afraid to give his opinion of my requests after I had another stylist that totally botched my haircut and made it extremely frizzy. We debated for a little about the best approach and he cleaned up my split ends, cut more horizontally than feathered to give my frizzy ends a chance to heal, and lined up my bangs, one by one on either side to make sure that everything was symmetrical. The end result looked great and will hopefully help my hair recover. Prices were around $120-130 if I remember correctly for a blowout and haircut. Definitely recommend. read more

From brassy to blond! I found this solon on yelp and live in the neighborhood so based on all the great reviews, thought i'd give it a try. I decided last minute to get my hair done before xmas and they were able to fit me in despite the busy time of year. David was my colorist and stylist. He started with a dry cut to get rid of the dead ends and ass some volume to my thin hair. He then spent tieless hours creating the perfect blond biolage. My hair has a tendency to go brassy orange but David was able to bring it to a perfect cool blond. His father is also a colorist so capturing the perfect color is in his genes! And that's what Christine has delivered every single time. Second time here, and I don't go often...two times in two years. Elsa G was my stylist and she did the K18 treatment and cut. She does as great job and cuts my hair exactly as requested. I didn't get a blowout as my hair is curly and I would recommend to have an option to style curly vs leaving to air dry w/o product. Seeing curly products are sold, I would think this would be an alternative to blow dry if at a discounted price since it's less work intense. Thought I'd try this place with all the great reviews it's gotten but was very unpleasantly surprised. The haircut - This is probably the worst haircut ive ever gotten. I asked for it to be evenly cut all around and have no idea how I ended up with such an uneven haircut. With the curls she put in my hair after, I wasn't able to see just how uneven it was until the next day. And I left NYC the next day so wasn't able to even go back in to get it fixed. I just got a consult with a stylist in Miami to get this haircut fixed and she commented how poorly it was cut with none of the layers blending in. I now have to pay another $100+ to fix the haircut I already paid $$$ for. The blowout - my stylist started curling and then idk what happened and she got called away and SHE HAD SOMEONE ELSE TAKE OVER. This new person seemed very inexperienced. She literally burned her own hands on the curling iron. She was talking and socializing with the other stylists while curling my hair and getting bumped by people (in this cramped salon) and I was literally scared to death in my chair that she was gonna burn me. She was curling it so haphazardly and I had to point out places she just had missed curling.... I had to ask for the original stylist, who I had made the appointment with, to come back and finish. I had shown her a picture of the flat iron curls I had wanted, but they did the style without any thought to what I had requested and just gave me super tight curls. She is the best at her craft! She took my choppy highlighted hair with obscene roots to a natural blonde that I'd only seen in pictures! I still don't know how she did it but my hair looked like perfection!!! I didn't think my crappy hair could look like one of those models in Vogue! I came with extensions and the people at Shear Bliss pleasantly removed them as it was time. They offered to order new extensions but I decided to take a break. Okay, so I walked into Shear Bliss with a COVID related disaster of hair after Ben from Mure Salon recommended that I go see Lana for a color correction. First of all, I always check reviews and was so happy to see that there were a ton of glowing reviews about this place. Not only that but Lana was booked for weeks with color corrections and when I came into the salon it was packed from 12pm-7pm; both being good signs that this place really lived up to the expectations. I walked into the salon, had my temp checked, sat in a seat and noticed that there were plastic panels separating the customers from each other and everyone had masks on. First Hala greeted me, and then Lana comes out. Immediately she notices the damage done and asks me questions about how I dyed my hair during COVID. It's clear to me that she knows her sh*t. Basically my hair was like three different colors and suffered a lot of breakage. 7 hours later (which is typical for a color correction there), it was well worth it. Lana took her time and paid attention to every detail all while asking me how my scalp felt and showing me the hair brush she used on me to reassure me that I was not losing more hair during this process. My hair went from a golden mess of three colors to one beautiful color. Hala was so nice and friendly, and I even got stopped by a different hair stylist telling me how beautiful my hair came out. Everyone is super friendly, and Lana is the most professional and well versed in hair. I also watched as some of the other stylists did beautiful bayalage colors on very happy customers.
