This restaurant won an award for Best Barbecue in Caswell County for 2010, heck it may be the only Barbecue restaurant in Caswell County - but whatever, the BBQ served here is very, very good - frankly, I was very surprised how good it was. While there is not a lot of smokiness in the meat, it is moist and tender, with a nice Eastern NC style vinegar/pepper sauce liberally applied. The slaw is a white, mayo based version, which goes well with this pork on a sandwich - and the sandwich here is of a good size. All in all, a nice find, and at under $4, a good buy, as well. The Chili Dog here is also excellent. The chili is meaty, and rich with flavor. The weiner is the typical Southern red dog - the final product is nice. The place is small - 10 or 12 tables and booths. Serves breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. Offers daily specials - meat and 2 kinda items. Service is friendly & efficient. Doesn't provide much in the way of ambiance, but you'd expect that.

Great little spot, very cozy, good food, good prices and friendly and helpful staff. I've been here once before with my brother, once for lunch and today for breakfast. Both meals were tasty, cooked to order and at good prices. Could not rate it a 5 star because its only a small breakfast and lunch place with paper plates and utensils but it's still a safe bet for a good home cooked meal and comfortable setting. One other high mark for Briggs is they have a 100 Sanitation rating!

Briggs is a nice little surprise tucked away in Yanceyville. You wouldn't expect to find such a good BBQ joint in Caswell County, but Briggs does BBQ and sides very well. This is absolutely a local place. I think I was the only one that hadn't been in Yanceyville my whole life, but when you're surrounded by locals, you know that you've come to the right place. I obviously got the BBQ plate for my lunch and chose to go with the potato salad and slaw as my sides. The meal came out very quickly. I waited at most five minutes for everything to arrive. The BBQ itself is very good. Very moist with a lot of flavor. I tried the BBQ before reaching for the sauce and honestly it didn't need any. They obviously pre sauce the meat and it is definitely an Eastern NC style sauce. The slaw was good on it's own or on the cue. It was a white mayo based slaw. The potato salad was also very good and I would definitely order it again. The place is very small. Maybe 8-10 small tables at most. For warmer days, they also have some picnic tables outside of the restaurant. The service was great. My waitress was attentive and exuded southern hospitality. The prices are very reasonable as well. This is some great BBQ here and probably some of the only that you will find for miles. Don't overlook this little joint in Caswell County. I will definitely be back for some BBQ, and I wouldn't mind trying some of their breakfast as well.

Super clean. Super friendly wait staff. Excellent country cooking. The vegetable sides were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Fried okra was best I've ever had. All desserts were homemade and wonders.

This place was delicious! I went with my dad on a road trip and we both agreed it was an excellent find, we will definitely be back. I got a barbecue plate with fries and okra. It came with homemade cornbread that was buttery and warm. The barbecue was moist and had a wonderful smoky flavor. Definitely some of the best I've had in a while. The plate cost $7.99 which was very reasonable! The restaurant was small but very cozy. The waitstaff were friendly and there were lots of locals! If you're looking for a good hole in the wall find, this is the place for you!

Best BBQ in Caswell County hands down! Its the only BBQ in Caswell County you say? Oh well then, it's still delicious. I did get my waitresses name but she was very good, attentive and al of her suggestions were great. Q was moist and delicious. Portions were great. Looking forward to stopping back by and trying the daily Plate Specials for $6.

An adorable place for a good burger!…read more I got the Virginia Woolf and wowza the black bean patty was 10/10! I love a homemade black bean burger that doesn't have corn. The fries were a 11/10 - perfectly hot, perfectly seasoned. The restaurant itself was small but plenty of outdoor and dog-friendly seating. The servers were all very attentive and it was the perfect spot for us to grab a lunch. Would've taken photos but I couldn't help but dig in when it came out!

We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. It is a beautiful location right next to the River District. There's a lovely park, splash pad, and playground right along the Dan River. We were so stoked to eat right there. The interior of the restaurant was so fun. We loved the decorations. Books everywhere! The server was ok at first. But when we were done, I did not like how she presented me the check. She just quickly flashed me an amount on a screen, and then hid the screen. I asked if I could pay cash and she accepted it but did not bring me a check even then. We ordered 3 burgers that sounded really good. Such a disappointment. The burger meat in each was shaped perfectly and was as hard as a hockey puck. They appeared to be cooked medium but the meat was tough and gristly. I have no idea how they got all the burgers the exact, uniform hockey puck shape. They must be like those frozen ones you can get at Costco. But $17.95 for a frozen hockey puck? At one point, while my kids were telling me how gross the patties were, while my husband and I told them they had to eat them to go play on the playground, I flagged the server down and asked what type of meat it was. She said beef. However, it did not taste like beef. Thank goodness for all the toppings because if they were plain burgers, they would have been inedible. We were so hungry though so we ate what we could. Notably, the buns also tasted cheap like they had just come out of a stale grocery store deli bag. The seasoned fries, sweet potato fries, the homemade ranch and ketchup, and salad with homemade vinaigrette were ok. After we left, I added up what we ordered again and realized she must have charged me an extra $12 to swap out a veggie patty for a beef patty. I was not told there would be an upcharge so felt a little swindled, especially with how she presented the check. I wish I had kept the veggie patty though, because it probably would have been better. Also my kid who had said the burgers were so gross puked right after we left and immediately felt much better and enjoyed 2 hours on the playground. My other kid was jealous of the other one puking. Like you can't make this kind of stuff up. This spot has so much potential. I would honestly hope to visit again just to chill outside but would not ever eat the burgers.

So much so that we ended up taking the leftovers back to eat for breakfast. My husband had salmon that was terrific. I had the shrimp and grits which was perfect. The atmosphere has really nice. The bartenders were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The menu is small but thoughtfully curated. The hush puppies were fantastic, and while my meal was good, I have to admit I left with a little food envy after hearing everyone rave about the Brussels sprouts! They also offer outdoor seating and a private event space downstairs. The cocktails were a bit on the pricey side, but the cozy atmosphere, great service, and local charm made it well worth the visit. I'll definitely be back and next time, I'm ordering those Brussels sprouts.
