Rena and Yuko were amazing the day of our wedding in April 2017. I didn't realize my sister-in-law already wrote a review, but I think that is a testament to their amazing work. Their price is comparable to other vendors, if not a bit more reasonable. I highly recommend the trial and bringing my Maid of Honor was a brilliant idea, because she was able to offer her honest opinion as well. Rena is super down-to-earth and we had a lovely chat about men, commitment, family, and the insanity of real estate in California. Rena was able to make everyone's makeup look natural (with lovely lashes, of course), and everyone's hair looked great! I highly recommend people growing out their hair, and wish that I did a little more with mine, but Rena was still able to make my hair into a bun that resembled a rose. Oh, I also got married on the probably THE windiest day. Literally, my phone's weather reading announced: "sunny, sunny, sunny, sunny, BLUSTERY, sunny, sunny." The blustery day just so happened to be our wedding day. (I know, great, right?) I remember a guest commented later, that my hair did not move at all, despite the wind. After the ceremony, a little piece of hair came undone, but apparently not enough of it for other people to let me know. The ladies at Bright Crystal Wedding are amazing! I was looking for hair and makeup for my wedding, my friend used them for her wedding in 2013 and recommended them. I emailed and got a response pretty quickly from Rena. Unfortunately she was unavailable the day of my wedding but her Senior Artist, Yuko, was. Before having a trial with Yuko, I reserved my wedding day ASAP! I also needed hair and makeup for my engagement pictures, Yuko wasn't available but Rena was. She did a great job and was really friendly during the session. I loved my makeup and it didn't feel heavy on my face at all. My hair is bad with curls staying so Rena pinned them and told me an hour before my photo session to unpin it so it can set. The curls stayed on the whole time! Part of our photos were taken on the beach, I was worried the salt water in the air would mess it up but it didn't Hair trial appointment with Yuko went really well. She followed the pictures I showed her perfectly. However, it wasn't until later my fiance mentioned that the eye makeup was a little dark, I thought it was a little bit too. When it came to the wedding day, I told Yuko to lighten my eye makeup, no problem! The day of my wedding, we were running a little late to the venue. Yuko and Kumiko were there and ready to go! I felt really bad but they were in great spirits the whole time. I have to give it to these ladies, they were on their feet non-stop! I offered them water and food but they were ok too. Bright Crystal Wedding is my go to team for all events. I've used them a few times already. For a ball I went to, and two weddings. I've had my hair and makeup done by Rena, Yuko, and Kamiko. Also, Maki has come to do other of the girl's hair and makeup. The whole team is pretty talented. They do a pretty good job every time, and they're able to give you exactly what you wanted. I've had my hair done in an updo by them and it stayed up all night. And I've had my hair down and the curls stayed until the next day. I had been reaching out to many hair and makeup artists in my area but Bright Crystal Weddings won me over with their prices and professionalism. From the trial session, I could tell I was in good hands with Rena, who took one look at my inspiration photos and recreated it perfectly (makeup - natural, hair - half up, half down). She was aghast when I told her I hadn't been prepping my face for my wedding day (because brides should do that at least six months before the wedding and we were already a month out!!), but she told me what to do to kind of fast-track my face to radiance. I wanted to do my hair down (and during my trial this is what she did) but closer to the day, when I found out it would be 93 degrees in Redondo Beach the day of my wedding, I decided I wanted an updo and she was very accommodating and assured me that it would not be a problem. Rena and her team (Yuko, Kumiko and Maki) are all very talented. Also, they listened to what everyone wanted and everyone in my bridal party loved the way their hair and make-up turned out. My mom was so impressed she said that she wished she had gone to Rena rather than her normal hairstylist. Also, I am not sure how they did it, but they set up really quickly, did their hair and make-up magic and left after only 3 or so hours. They didn't rush, they just were really good at what they do. It was unbelievable. Bright Crystal Wedding is really affordable. I needed a make up artist that was close to the Redondo Beach Hotel that I was getting ready at. The reason is, a lot of Los Angeles based makeup artists I emailed for a quote charge a $100-$150 "travel" fee, so I wanted to find a more local person who didn't charge a travel fee. Not only did Rena not charge a travel fee, but she gave me 5% off because I had 5 bridesmaids. (I believe everyone gets 5% off if you have a bridal party of 5 or more). One thing I need to note is that my wedding was on a really hot day (it was 95 degrees in October!) but my hair and make-up stayed put the entire day. After previous plans fell through I booked a last minute bridesmaid updo appointment with Rena for 7.00am on Saturday. I needed something close to home, affordable, and that also had lots of positive reviews; Bright Crystal fit the bill. Rena and her assistant Yuko were fantastic! Let me start off by saying that finding a makeup artist for the big day really stressed me out. Originally I had selected another vendor early on in the planning process, but she ended up cancelling on me because her cousin was getting married the same day. An unfortunate situation that left with no choice but to find another artist. This was especially tricky because I wanted someone who could do BOTH hair & makeup (all while not killing my budget). It took me a good 6 months to find another artist to my liking, but I was so lucky to find Rena! After scouring yelp, bridal websites, IG, you name it, she finally appeared and thank heavens she was available on our wedding day. She's as sweet as they come and very professional. Communication through emails or calls were always easy and straightforward. I met with Rena first to have trial makeup session to see if her style was up to my liking. Rena thoroughly listened to my description of what I typically like for makeup and how I want to look on the wedding day. She did the trial and I was happy with the way I looked so I proceeded to book Rena and her team for my wedding day. On the day of the wedding, Rena and two of her teammates arrived right on time and promptly set up their stations. They worked on my bridesmaids first. One of my bridesmaids, who is very particular about makeup like how Rena did hers and even asked for makeup tips. When it was my turn Rena worked her magic and I was very happy with the way she did my makeup. At first, I didn't like my lipstick color too much but had a hard time explain what exact shade I wanted. Nevertheless, Rena patiently listened and continued to refine blending 2 colors until I was happy with it.
