I got a haircut here and it turned out good. However, I had showered earlier in the day so she asked if I wanted to wash it so I said no. The hair cut ended up being $50. She did style it after by blow drying it, but I think for the overall experience, it was a bit expensive. Not sure if washing and shampooing my hair would increase the $50 price, but I probably should've said yes since she was blow drying my dry hair. Tips are cash only and you can't tip on the card. We called before making an appointment and we were told it would cost us $35 or so for haircut. Then, we were told that it was $50 after the haircut..... Came here with an appointment w/ Gina at the recommendation of a friend. It's usually difficult to find a hairstylist who knows how to handle Asian hair but even more difficult is one who is willing to listen to what you want, and your concerns, and even provide recommendations. So thankful to have Gina handle my hair for almost a year now and definitely who I recommend if you're in the area. Prices are great for the work and quality, and Gina works quickly so you're not in the salon for longer than necessary. Parking is a lot shared with other businesses and not a hassle to find a spot during slower hours. Appointments are more widely available during the week. Have to commend Gina for being willing to stay later than other hairstylists and working on me with such care, that I didn't feel a rush at all. There were customers who came in at 5pm with an appointment but the hairstylist seemingly forgot and had already left, so Gina stepped in and handled the situation professionally. This is difficult to write. I had been a long time customer. I mean, I had been coming in since 2016, back when they actually had a salon receptionist taking calls. That way your hair stylist wouldn't be running to the phone every 10 minutes while doing your hair... Initially, I LOVED how Karny did my hair. I would get questioned everywhere I went. "Where did you get your hair done??" Very quickly, I decided I couldn't trust anyone else to do my hair. One of my favorite things, was that she truly respected how little hair you wanted to cut during your haircut. And again, during this time, Karny would only focus on one client at a time. At least, that was my personal experience. The first few years were great. Then the quality started to decline... starting with no longer having a receptionist. When I would go in, Karny would be running around like crazy. Running to get the phone to book future appointments, running to check how my hair was coloring, and running to cut people's hair in between. I'm pretty sure that because of this, while she was cutting someone else's hair, my hair turned out much lighter than I wanted. I understand wanting to take on every client you have. If I'm correct Karny drives from really far to be at Cutie Salon. I understand wanting to make as much money as you can in that situation. But, ultimately, this would result in a poor experience. But, I would never say anything, because she was the only stylist I trusted. Due to this inattention, the quality of the work also declined some time later. I would end up with the dye job being a little uneven, having a random stripe by my bangs when I had balayage. There was one time where I was out of town, and needed a trim. My friend recommended someone, so I trusted them. After cutting my hair, the stylist let me know they fixed my layers because they were "crooked and uneven". Again, I don't doubt that, simply because Karny is constantly multitasking. She always stopped what she was doing with my hair to attend to the person that walked in, or that called for a quote. Other people were beginning to notice. My mom kept telling me the work I was getting done was not how it used to be, and that it was overpriced. Even my fiancé, who knew nothing about balayage/ombré would tell me that it was time to find a new stylist. I would go in having booked a balayage AND ombré, and they'd say it was just a balayage. That happened a number of times. I'm not sure if that was a shortcut to save time?? Unfortunately, I was too timid to really say anything. Then, it became impossible to get the hair color I wanted, so she claimed. This was the story she'd tell me over and over again, and somehow, I ended up with bright yellow highlights which I did not want. What I originally wanted was darker than that. She kept telling me I couldn't go lighter but she was still able to give me ridiculous YELLOW blonde highlights. How does that even make sense? When I would ask when I could go lighter, her only response was "I don't know". No time estimate, no strand test. Just flat out "I don't know". I would've honestly preferred to do multiple sessions to get what I wanted. Again, to me the work ethic became lazy. Yes Karny works hard and does SO much, but how does it impact your work with each individual client when you are too busy to truly give it your full attention? It was really hard, but I finally decided to find someone new. And let me tell you, the grass is greener on the other side. I found an amazing salon that works with my schedule. Meaning, I could schedule AFTER work. No more 10am appointments on one of my only days off. Also, no more long wait time for appointments. (One time I waited 4 weeks and got cancelled on the day before my birthday.) The salon is adorable. They even have a salon receptionist! My stylist only worked on my hair during my visit. My hair came out phenomenal. My mom and fiancé loved it. And the experience was cool, they offered drinks (coffee, alcohol) and the place was very aesthetically pleasing. My favorite thing was that my stylist confirmed I can get the hair color I want with a few sessions. Also, my hair came out very healthy from the first coloring session. I'm so sad to leave Cutie Salon but it was about time. No more calling to ask to book with Karny and a guy saying, "She's not taking clients" and hanging up. (Texted to book directly and she was taking clients). There was one time where I went to get a consultation from her, the only stylist I've ever worked with at Cutie Salon, and she tried to get me to book with another stylist. That stung a little bit. That she was so willing to just turn over a long term client, when I've made it clear that I only have her do my hair. Anyways, goodbye Cutie Salon! Wasn't me, it was you. read more

!!Burned scalp!! !! Be careful!! My family and I have been going here for quite sometime now and we loved it until today. Today my mom and I went to get highlights and a balayage for me. Both my mom and I have gotten our hair done prior to this with results I wanted. However, this will be the last time I will be going there due to this visit. My mom and I go into the salon and we're expecting to get what we both wanted which was highlights and a balayage for me since both of our hair has grown out since the last time we were here. She starts doing our hair and then towards the end of the process I was confused because my hair still looked the same. I was expecting a balayage since that's what I wanted and when she did my moms hair it looked the same as well. The results were not what we wanted at all and I stormed out of their furious. What is even more worse my whole scalp was hurting throughout this process. When I get to the car I notice that my forehead and my scalp is severely red and was in an extremely amount of pain. I was furious because I sat in a chair getting what I thought was a "balayage" for two hours and ended up with my hair looking the exact same just worse because my scalp was red and in such pain. I proceeded to call the salon and explain to them my side of the story of how I was furious about my hair because my whole head was in pain. At first, the manager was telling me so sorry just put Vaseline on it. Like what type of response is that. I proceeded to tell her how much trust I had for that salon and now I am extremely traumatized because of what my scalp went through. She proceeds to then tell me that her and the hair stylist decided that my balayage from February was still good and that they just did a root touch up on my hair. This was NOT communicated to me which was the reason why I was more upset. They proceed to tell me to go over there to "fix it". First of all, do you think I'd come back and let you guys do my hair when you guys are the ones who burned my scalp and did something I didn't ask for. It is imperative that when working with a customer you INFORM them of what you will be doing with their hair. I am extremely disappointed and upset with what has happened to my hair. My scalp is in a lot of pain so please be careful when choosing a salon. I will NOT be going back here and I am very traumatized due to this experience. I love Cutie Salon! Everyone here is so nice and friendly and lovely. They make you feel very comfortable, offering water/tea/coffee/snacks which is great when you're there for a service that might take hours! I appreciate how clean and spacious the space is, as well as how COVID-conscious they are. That makes me feel even more comfortable about going and staying for long periods of time! Prices are also very reasonable. I believe I paid $45 or $50 last time for a cut and $305 for balayage (before tip price). I have medium length hair to my boobs. I'm not going to lie before I came I went through every picture and every review to make the best judgment I could and seeing the crap my hair went through I didn't have much options left but to try someone new or box dye it to brown or diy. And we all know that will get me right back to a Salon soon anyway. First I messaged wee in desperate need of fixing my hair I had left with gray tones and patches of blonde and orange and smudged roots with these stripes of orange almost everywhere it was a lot to deal with and I honestly don't know how huy did it but my hair is saved! For the most part I texted a few pictures of what I hoped for and got told not possible. Due to already damaged fried bleached processed twice hair the only way to say it was to cut the bad part off and save what I could with warmer tones and colors!!!! Wee messaged me saying there is a spot open and if I tried to come I can have it so that is exactly what I did I rushed to the chair.. I'm so glad I did from my picture you can see where my hair was and how much it processed out and how bad it continued to get the gray and silver washed out completely and I was left with 50 shades of bleach blonde orange hair idk i was truly sad but felt like i was in good hands. The hair gods were in my favor when wee put the magic touch on my hair taking every second to make sure the process was working and telling me exactly what I can expect letting me see the results and asking if I'm happy with it or we have a chance to remove this and that you know stylist talk and wow I'm so pleased and overwhelmed with joy about the results and told what treatment to use and not to color or change my hair anymore let it live!! So I'm given them 4 stars because their customer service is really good. Everyone there is friendly and kind and I really appreciate places like that. Now, what I didn't like. I didn't like the color I got. I didn't know she was going to bleach my hair. It had never been bleached before. I've had my hair dyed light colors before without the need of bleaching. Any who, I didn't know until it was on me. But too late to say anything. So at This point I'm hoping that my hair will have a drastic change. Unfortunately my hair looks almost the same lol There was no need for bleach. Nobody can tell I even dyed it. So now my hair will be more damaged and while looking the same. If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have just gone blonde. Or something where you can really see a difference. So I'm disappointed on that part.
