I have only good things to say about Koji and his salon. I was a first time client here on a Saturday; I called as other reviewers mentioned and he got me in that same day! I can't believe I hadn't found his salon sooner. The atmosphere was relaxed, stress-free, thoughtful. And so was Koji! He took his time every step of the way and I left the space IN LOVE with my cut. I didn't want any length off my bangs, which were slightly too short for my liking before I came in, and he blended them so they'll grow out beautifully with the rest of my hair. My only reference picture was from another reviewer. I am over the moon and I will be back!!

Koji's communication is 10/10, the salon is super cute, and to top it off he's extremely skilled! He's super sweet and gentle and it just adds to the overall relaxing atmosphere. An obvious 5 stars for Radiance Salon!

My first time with Koji today, such a great haircut and experience! I have very fine hair and asked for soft layers and face framing, movement. I got 2-3 inches off the bottom. It's been hard for me to find someone who can add volume to my fine hair. Koji didn't rush and was very careful and considerate with my hair from the shampoo to the cut and styling. I like that it's quiet in the salon since Koji only uses one chair in the salon. And it doesn't have the strong chemical smell that gives me a headache :) Parking was available in the small lot beside the building. I picked up lunch after in the area and it's nice to be near the beach. I highly recommend! Price is reasonable too. Make sure to call for an appointment.

Koji did exactly that and I haven't seen anyone else since! The cut and style is perfect every single time. Even just the hair wash is so relaxing. Two stars for: the pricing and how friendly Koji was. My first time going and I don't think I'll be going back. My hair turned out uneven and very choppy. Unfortunately I'm not satisfied with my hair. I would not recommend this place personally, unless you are looking for very defined layers. I was wanting subtle face framing. I trusted Koji because of all the 5 stars. He curled my hair at the end of the service, so I couldn't see what my hair really looked like before I left. I knew before the end of the service my hair would not have a subtle framing, based on how he was sectioning pieces and cutting the hair. I didn't speak up because so much hair was already cut and I knew there wasn't anything to do to reverse it. Again, if your looking for defined layers this your place! If not, I would keep searching.

I have always had long, straight hair and I've honestly never trusted anyone to cut layers because it's so easy to get them wrong. I found Koji through Google, loved his work, and decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did. He gave me the most beautiful face framing layers and completely transformed my heavy, no style hair into something that actually has movement and shape. He took his time, listened, and made me feel like I was in really good hands the entire appointment. I left feeling so happy and confident, and I've been getting compliments on my hair ever since. I saw the great reviews on this salon a couple of years ago and today, I finally was able to go and meet Koji. He's quite soft spoken but engages in conversation, which is nice. I wanted to go from waist length hair to a layered bob but he suggested to do it gradually. I didn't get the cut that I went there for but I still loved how my hair cut turned out - a few inches below the shoulders with lots of of layers. Will definitely be returning. Quick tip: Bring cash in case his credit card register isn't working. Koji doesn't have Zelle or Venmo currently. read more

Walked in around 10am on a Sunday and asked if there was availability- got lucky and could get a cut at 11am! Would recommend calling in the future to book a reservation since he can get booked out! I asked for French layers with curtain bangs and showed a few inspo pics along with one I saw from yelp! It didn't take super long either so I was in and out in 40 minutes including a relaxing wash! The cut was $70 not incl tip! The layers look great and blends so well in my overall look, and my hair is feeling nice and healthy! I'd come again when I'm in town! read more

I had not had my hair styled for several years. just a trim, then donate when it was long enough. My daughter recommended going to Radiance salon owned by Koji. I am particular about stylists since my mom was one, but found him to be great. he listened to what I wanted, then washed, cut and blew my hair dry. Unlike other stylists, he took his time cutting my hair and did a beautiful job. He is also very gentle with your hair and doesn't pull. I would highly recommend Koji as a stylist. I will be going back again when I need another haircut. An added bonus is getting your hair washed. it almost felt like a massage. read more

This was my first time here and I looked on Yelp to find a stylist who could cut and layer my hair, who had experience with asian hair (I have very fine straight hair), and was not far away. Koji got me in within a few hours and I was pretty blown away by my experience. He was very gentle with my hair. I got a shampoo and condition, he explained to me how to do the correct layering for my face shape, he showed me techniques I can use to style my hair WITHOUT damaging it. He gave me VOLUME without having to use product or matte my hair to look like a nest! He used Japanese products which smell so good and are not heavy at all. He told me about his b background and experience (he worked for a high end French salon!). Lastly, what really blew me away were the prices. I asked him if he has anyone else working. It's just him! He rarely takes time off. He genuinely loves doing hair and he said if he were to hire someone else, he would have to increase prices and he doesn't want to do that to his customers. Life is expensive already, everything goes up. He doesn't want to do that...EVEN THOUGH HIS COSTS GO UP AND HIS INCOME DOESN'T!!!! He is just a genuine guy. I am so incredibly glad I came here and wow. My hair looked better than I had expected. It was an experience that I'm looking forward to coming back to! read more

Amazing service and the results speak for themselves! I have naturally wavy hair and unfortunately dealing with frizz is an ongoing battle despite the amount of styling or product I use. I had debated getting a Brazilian Blowout for quit some time and I was extremely happy with the outcome. The atmosphere of the salon is a lovely environment and as a first-time client I was looking forward to trying a new treatment. The overall process went smoothly and Koji was very informative in providing information regarding the aftercare as well. I was ecstatic to see how manageable and smooth my hair was after washing and to see my wave pattern bounce back with little to no frizz. He services his scissors in Japan semi-annually just to maintain his equipments in great condition. This helps prevent split ends and other hair troubles I used to frequently encounter. Nori also uses a scale to formulate the hair colors. You can feel assured you won't come out of the salon looking funky. Appointments can be made online directly from his website, or by emailing/texting him directly. He is very flexible and accommodating with appointments. Lastly, parking can be found adjacent from the salon building structure. You can also charge your EV for free too. Amex accepted and drinks and clean environment offered. Can't recommend Nori enough.

I went in to get a perm and cut…read more The vibe was very nice. Very respectful. His space was very clean and tidy with what seems, state of the art tools. I have had fine hair all my life, but even still my hair has always taken well to perms, always. Even the last one over a year ago. The only complaint I had was the use of larger rods which made my hair more wavy curl than curly. Nori had said that my hair wouldn't take well to a perm, but because I know my hair's history, I asked him do it anyway and he agreed to do it. First he used a more gentle solution because of my pervious perm over a year ago (did not ask if I wanted that), and I didn't know until he was already in the process of using it on my hair... my hair needs the stronger solution. Second he did a loose curl wrap instead of a tight curl wrap. With fine hair (or at least my hair) it needs to be curled up against the scalp. I think he did this because it was a hot treatment perm (which I never had before) vs a cold treatment perm. He didn't give an option. So the perm came out ok on the bottom because it already had the previous perm that was there from a year ago. But the top part of my hair had virtually no difference. If you have fine hair and looking to get a perm, I would not recommend Nori. I'm sure he does really well with all other hair services. To his credit, the perm itself, aside from the lack of curl, was a healthy perm (did not harm my hair) and he did give a very nice cut prior to the perm process. I think if he would have explained his treatment process and how it differed from what I had previously experienced, that may have helped my decision to go elsewhere, before wasting over $200 I had taken a year 1/2 to save. Again I think he probably does really well with the other services he provides. I just think for women (or men) with fine hair, you may want to think twice if you're looking to get a perm.

Honestly, I almost feel bad because Nikki would explain to me the process in detail and I would be clueless and just nodding my head since this was my first time and I got no clue about being blonde along with the technical terms included in the process of doing it. She knew this and changed her way of explaining so that I could understand it better. Haha. Things I learned was 1 close my eyes when they're rinsing off the bleach, 2 also close my eyes when I'm on the dryer with the bleach and 3 take all the stretch breaks that's offered. There's always a first time for everyone. The results were amazing!! I was nervous, scared and excited because it was a big change but also I didn't know if the color was gonna match me. She assured me that it would look great and it takes a lot to say something like that because that just meant that she knew what she was doing and it was true. Experience was great! She also fixed my chunky haircut and made it more streamlined which ultimately shaped it up to look amazing. We also did a trial run of curls to see how long it would hold if I decided to get it done a day before my nurse graduation this month. I don't plan to go back.

Koji is such a great stylist! I originally found him through a google/yelp search for the Japanese straightening treatment. When I saw his salon reviewed with 5 stars and tons of reviews, I knew I had to call for an appointment. He took me in pretty quickly, less than a week, since the process takes 5 hours. Once I was in, he was really professional (I was even late by 20 minutes!). He examined my hair, started the process, and made sure I was okay every now and then (which I really appreciated!). Now, my hair is very fine and VERY frizzy, so he made sure to explain the process well. I told him exactly what I wanted, and he respected that. Because my hair is a bit damaged, it's really tough finding a salon or stylist that will care for my hair the way I expect them to. I 've had experiences where they never follow my request at all! I told him that I liked my length, and he kept it. He even went as far as to show me how much he planned to cut and asked if I was ok with it. Very nice guy and very humble too. That's quality customer service you can't always find. In addition, he recommended some layers for my hair, which I am so glad he did for me! My hair is the exact length I wanted it, it's sleek straight, and no complaints. If anyone is hesitant about his services, don't be. Let me tell you from someone who used to go to salons every 6 months for years (until buildup of bad experiences kept me from going back!). He even continues attending workshops or classes just to keep up with new technology or new methods of treating hair - that's someone who truly wants to give quality care to customers. He doesn't get a lot of business yet because it is just him running the salon. Help him out, do yourself a favor, and go see Koji! I write very few yelp reviews - for businesses that have exceptionally good service and businesses with exceptionally bad service. I have always had the great experience at Koji's place. Koji, who is owner/stylist, is experienced and very professional. He started his career in Shibuya, Tokyo, where it is one of the most competitive area in Japan. He has 20 year experience, I guess. (I do not know exactly.) Before I met Koji, I had had the many different stylists for my haircut because I could not be satisfied. Since I met Koji, I have gone to his place all the time for 6 years. He is always constant and makes me satisfied. Also, he advises you what type of hair you have and how you treat your hair. I think that the price is fair (I mean "cheap.") The men's cut is less than $40. He spend about 1 hour, and he is very detailed and careful. Which one do you like? 10 minutes $10 haircut, 60 minutes nearly $100 haircut, or 60 minutes $40 haircut? I recommend Radiance salon, in particular for men. It's worth. read more

I should have posted my review a long time ago. My friend introduced Radiance Salon. Koji, the owner, is the best hair stylist I've ever met in my life. I was very impressed with his amazing skill and great customer service. He is very detail-oriented and really knows what he does. He carefully listens to the customers and accurately identifies what they want. I assume that the most hair salons open 9am to 7pm, but surprisingly his salon opens until midnight! and runs 24/365 (but I recommend you to check available time beforehand). Koji-san is the best hair stylist who I have ever met. My hair was really messed and I had no idea what to do with my hair before I met him. I tried many different hair salons, but I was never satisfied with the results... Since I started going to his hair salon, I really do love my hair. Koji, the hairstylist, has been cutting my hair since I was 7, and from 7 to now being 17, he has always given me excellent haircuts, even with my ever changing hairstyle requests. He does quality work, putting his passion and skill into each haircut. I went to him for a black hair dye with red streaks in my bangs and he did an amazing job, from cutting my hair to exactly how i wanted it, to dying my hair perfectly.
