I'm so happy I researched Optometrist, and came across Dr. Deutscher. I have a 15 y.o. son whom has Autism, Anxiety, and ADHD. He needed an eye exam because, I noticed how close he was looking at the computer screen, for virtual learning. Dr. Deutscher, went above and beyond to first make him feel safe and comfortable. She carefully listened to my concerns, and then used her immense knowledge base, to implement different ways to have my son focus, and respond to her during the exam. She explained the results of each part of the exam, conferred with me on eyeglass prescriptions, and most of all, she was extremely patient while doing it. I've been going to this eye glass boutique for years now and am always impressed. Dr. D is kind, patient, and has incredible bedside manner. She listens to you and as I've gotten to know her asks about your life. At my most recent appointment I mentioned to Dr. D that my dailies were getting quite dry. So she's allowed me to try four different brands to figure out what works best for me. This is special and can't be found at every establishment. I love the look of the boutique and the Doctor has made some lovely improvements over the years. I also appreciate that Dr. D utilizes some very impressive scanners and modern technology to ensure your experience is top notch. I was really excited to pay this place a visit. I'm all about supporting local businesses and go out of my way to avoid "chains". Making an appointment here was relatively easy and finding parking was a cinch. Now here is where everything went downhill.... They charge roughly 20 percent more for their items in the brick and mortar store vs their online store...makes no sense. First off, a year supply of these particular lenses cost $240 EVERYWHERE....including higher end shops in Greenwich, CT. These guys were trying to charge 260 online... ehhh, not a huge deal. If you buy them in the store, they charge 320.... again... not a huge deal. Then they proceed to talk about all types of extra fees associated with the eye exam.... I've been wearing glasses since I was 14.... Started wearing contacts when I was 20, and I'm 30 now.... never have I been asked to pay all of these extra "fees". Maybe I came in on a bad day, maybe my mood was off (it really wasn't.... beautiful day, got my car washed, hit the empty gym and had an awesome lunch prior to coming here), but I really can not recommend these guys simply because of all these hidden undisclosed fees. I'm taking my business back to Cohens for now... If I want to get bent over, I'll see a proctologist. read more

I went to this office initially for a consultation about getting Lasik. Dr. Deutscher told me I was eligible but I would not become 20/20 and would need reading glasses within 5 years. I realize her office gets a consultation fee from Lasik surgeons so I was very appreciative of her honesty and decided against the procedure. I instead got a full check up and new contact lenses. She was one of the better doctors I've been to, as she explained every test performed and was thorough. I have and would recommend herf office to anyone seeking an honest doctor. read more

They've won my business when on a Saturday afternoon I called and said I had broken my glasses. I showed up after and showed the receptionist my glasses and her first response was "We can fix that." A welcome relief after not having any knowledge of where to go. They fixed it right up, replaced my nose pads, and cleaned the lenses as well, all with no charge. I'm already going to be calling and scheduling an appointment and will update this review then for sure. read more

I've needed glasses for over 20 years now and I've been to about a dozen optometrists because of my constant moving, throughout the suburbs and the city. So I think it's a big deal when I say that this is probably the best optometry office I've ever been to. Dr. Deutscher is polite and friendly, answers all your questions eagerly and is very informative. Her staff genuinely seem to like their jobs. Before my appointment a glasses vendor stopped by and the doctor and all her staff grouped together to share opinions on the different styles - the doctor was happy to ask the staff what may or may not sell, and they were excited to give input. It was nice to see this, unlike a lot of other offices where everyone is gruff and task-oriented only. The optician that helped me with my glasses was fantastic. She showed me what I wanted in terms of frames I was used to, and pushed me outside of my comfort zones with different shapes and colors. In the end I settled for something different, but not too different. Their selection is great, and they carry the TC Charton line - frames optimized for Asian-shaped faces like mine. It's so rare to see so many options for Asians outside of a Chinatown. I did choose to take away one star because the mark-up on their frames and lenses is pretty wild! My lenses are super hi-index (1.74) so I'm used to paying a ton for those, but even their 20% discount was more than I ever paid. I checked online for some of the frames I tried on and was shocked to see that some of them were nearly $200 cheaper there. But heads up - they have coupons here on Yelp that can put a dent in the cost. Anyway, despite the crazy expensive glasses I ended up buying, I'd definitely come here again for a contacts examination. Those aren't covered by my insurance so I pay out of pocket for those anyway, and I never feel pressure to buy contacts from the optometrist. At least I save on those online! read more

Customer service seems not to be a priority here. Very rude receptionist, I was billed for extra services and unaware until the bill was sent to me via email a month later. Why email? Trying to dispute my services was such a hassle. I came in to verify a prescription in my second lense, and left with the understanding that I would not have to worry. The receptionist actually laughed at me in such a sassy tone when I called to inquiry why the bill. She huffed and kept putting me on hold. As a manager myself, this lack of phone etiquette is alarming. I would not recommend this place. I no longer am a customer at this place. Still did not receive a call, apology or understanding of the extra charges. I spent well near $900 on two frames and this is how customers are treated? Absolutely not worth it! read more

I went in to Bright Eyes for my son (new patient) to have his yearly eye exam. The office staff are kind and helpful. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable. The selection of glasses are updated even for medicaid pts. The doctor did a thorough eye exam on my son, and I became a patient right then and there. This is the place to go. i loved this place so much i was an hour late (i woke up late) and they saw me with no issues and they have a parking garage which is great i didnt have to wait at all i saw the dr right away she was so nice then when i was picking out my frames the gentlemen who was helping me choose my frames was super helpful explaining exactly what my insurance covered & what it didnt he made the process easy peasy overall i rate this place 10/10 i drove from the bronx to new rochelle for this place and im so glad i did and will continue going here as long as i am in ny. read more

I went in today because I've had pain and swelling in my eyelid. Fearful that it might be something like pink eye, I wanted to be seen right away. I am so glad that I went in. Think it's great they are open Saturday when so many others were not. The doctor was amazing - absolutely helpful, put me at ease and then prescribed what I need to start healing. Since I just started my treatment today, this is why I only did 4 stars, but if this treatment solves it, then it'd be 5 stars. Helpful staff, cute/clean place, nice location! read more

I went to this doctor to get a check up because I was experiencing some pain in my eyes but SOMEHOW when I left I paid over $700 for glasses. I'm not a person who is easily susceptible to marketing tactics but I don't play when it comes to my eyes because I have pretty bad eyesight. I came here because it was close to where I was living at the time and I was STUDENT, you would think that they would be considerate and just check my eyes and let me be on my way but no they suggested I get new glasses when I later found out that I really didn't need. In addition to me having to pay $700 out of pocket the glasses wasn't even brand name, just regular no-name glasses. I couldn't afford groceries for the rest of the month, thanks a lot Bright Eyes. The doctor is ok, and I'm not going to doubt that she knows what she's doing but don't push it on me to make more money! Others seem to have good experiences, mine wasn't. read more

I have had great experiences with Bright Eyes. Dr. Sumati does wonderful, efficient exams. I have upgraded my eyewear, and her optician and salesperson Frank has a terrific sense of style. He spent the time to go through a wide range of frame options for me and find glasses that I can wear every day and for all occasions. My son also wears glasses and we've had a good experience with his glasses, as he has grown and gone through frames over the years, and Dr. Sumati and Frank are both great with kids. Hello Westchester friends. I don't normally do this, but it is rare that I have such a good experience at a doctor's office that I really just had to pass this on. Neither myself nor my kids had an real eye exam in a while (meaning more than the simple test they do at the pediatrician's office) and I decided it was time to do so. By sheer coincidence, I met a woman at a birthday party, whom I immediately clicked with, who just happened to be an Optometrist, and who had opened a new office in New Rochelle. Since I did not have an eye doctor, I decided to give her a try, on a whim. My boys and I all had exams there on Saturday and it was a great experience. The office was clean and bright (with free parking), the exam ran on time and the kids were engaged enough to participate exactly as they needed to, even my wandering little one. When it turned out one of my kids needed glasses, the optician was just as excellent and professional and my boy walked away both really excited about wearing glasses and with a pair he looked great in. They also take most forms of insurance, so for the exam I only had to pay our usual doctor's office co-pay. read more

Months ago, I stopped in to have a pair of glasses adjusted. The optician, Frank was friendly and the adjustment was perfect! A few months later when my husband and I needed new glasses we decided to try Bright Eyes. Frank spent a lot of time with us picking frames that were the right color and fit our facial features. He also explained many of the lens options in detail. My experience with the Dr. was also fabulous! My prescription can be difficult to get right and she was willing to trial lens in a frame twice before my lens were ordered. The prescription is perfect! And, both my husband and I look great. It's also worth mentioning that their prices are very reasonable. Before buying we checked a few other places. read more
