This Dr is so arrogant that he doesn't listen to patient complaints. He put the mold in my son's eye, my son was complaining about pain and he said no it doesn't hurt. Just dismissed that without any more response. I specifically told him my son has pretty severe astigmatism and ask if AOK would help. He repeatedly said yes and brag about being the one to teach other Dr about AOK yet a year and 3k later my son still has 20/50 vision and he refused to admit it doesn't work and ask us to renew another year for 1500 plus. And he conveniently schedule the annual check up date past the first year anniversary so it won't be included in the first year fee and had me pay 300+ for the check up. He doesn't care about your kids eyes he just want you to pay him money!! I am going to sue his ass this unethical arrogant jerk! read more

Eye Q has blatantly disregarded my several requests for a copy of my contact lens prescription so that I can order them from a third party vendor (who is several times cheaper than their own price). I asked for it at the time of my visit, and they gave me a copy that was not signed. I have since called 3 times and they keep telling me that they are too busy to have the doctor sign it. This is a clear violation of the FTC prescription law that requires them to give a patient a copy of his/her prescription at the time of the exam. I have brought this to their attention and still have not received my prescription. Very angry. read more

Eye Q of Scarsdale has the highest priced glasses of anywhere. I priced the same glasses at several optical shops in the area, and Eye Q's price was significantly higher, for the exact same frames, prescription and options. Eye Q will nickel and dime you. The other reason for my low score is that the manager, Brania, is extremely rude and nasty to customers. She seems like a very angry, agitated individual who behaves in a disrespectful, unprofessional manner towards customers. I have advised my family and friends to steer clear of Eye Q in Scarsdale, and I advise everyone reading this review to do the same! There are much better optical shops in the area, where customers are treated with courtesy and respect, and are not overcharged. read more

Ron Bilt was really superb in his attention to detail and his patience in dealing with me and the special totally custom sunglasses and high end frameless regular glasses they provided to me. Great experience. I got my eyes checked by Dr. Philip. Very thorough exam. The doctor took her time, went through a lot of the different possibilities and made sure everything was right before I left. Dr. Philip asked if I had time to do the Glaucoma test as it added half an hour to the visit. She then gave me a special sunglass filter to put under my glasses. The visit was very pleasant. The doctor was on time and they had a good selection of glasses. And, the best part of the experience is that my insurance covered most of it. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I will definitely be back. read more

This is our 1st time going here after moving house. The clinic is clean and bright. Dr. Rebecca did a wonderful job and so thorough. It'd been the first time for my little daughter and she enjoyed the experience with Dr. Rebecca. However, the staff who handled glasses for my kids was extremely salesy and forcing with all kinds of sales language. I had never found myself in a situation of trying so hard to explain many times for not having a back-up pair (which of course cost a good amount of money and when we need, we will manage) for my son who has been wearing glasses for 7 years. "He will go blind and can't study for 2 weeks if his glass are broken and had no back up," she said this many times, in different ways, among many other things that made me feel shame as a parent. For my daughter, I wanted to go with the basic and said no for the extra and she put it in but I said no again. If this staff is trained/coached on what good sales really means (to gently serve / not to force), this clinic would be great. I left with unnecessary stress and decided to cancel future appointments and gave her some feedback, with permission, but she was quite defensive. I understand she may be under the pressure to perform so I hope this feedback is helpful so that the clinic has its total staff element (the another staff was gentle and respected my decisions) as great as the the doctors' work and make the 5 star across the board. read more

Had to wait a little because the doctor was behind schedule but they had free Hershey kisses and offered me water. The doctor was great, staff was ok and I had a perfect eye exam. They accidentally charged my credit card as if I didn't have insurance so always double check what they are charging you but overall I did have a good exam and that's most important. read more

The prices may be higher than the run of the mill optical store but it is well worth it. I have never seen better with glasses than those prescriptions filled here. The service is excellent and they always are there if you have a problem. The owners are always available . The examinations by Dr Phillips and DR Zlatkin are very thorough. Dr Zlatkin picked up a rare condition of my husbands and knew exactly what physician to refer him to. They are also immaculately clean, so important to avoid any infections from the equipment. I have seen an ophthalmologist for years and Dr. Z's exam is far more thorough and uses the most advanced equipment to detect any abnormalities or deficiencies. I wasn't a fan of the staff, they offered little time when it came to discussing options for pricing

This was my worst retail experience EVER! I chose this store because they offered a sunglass sale for Mother's Day and both of my girls needed sunglasses. In addition, we brought in prescriptions for glasses. I was told the first pair of sunglasses were excluded from the sale since they were for a 12-year-old and there was no profit margin in that size, so I paid full price. I was told the second pair was excluded since it wasn't in stock. I ordered this pair anyway and was told I would receive a phone call the following business day to confirm availability. The call never came. After a week, I finally phoned them to inquire and was told they would be in soon. When they did come in, they were the wrong order. They reordered them and after several more weeks, they finally arrived. These were Ray Ban aviators, by the way, which are widely available everywhere. Of the prescription glasses, one pair also took 3 1/2 weeks. The excuse for that was that the frames had to come from one place the the lenses from another and that takes 3 1/2 weeks. I've never heard of such a thing. Of the four glasses, only one pair was managed properly through Davis vision and arrived in under two weeks, of course with multiple extra charges that weren't covered by insurance. When the final glasses were in, I asked to speak to the owner who happened to be our salesperson. I just wanted to let her know how my experience had been since staff would call and tell me one pair of glasses was ready and had no idea that the other three were not. I kept having to explain to each person that I didn't want to make multiple trips for the glasses. When I tried to explain to the owner how poorly managed and time-consuming our experience had been, she kept interrupting and arguing with me. She said that the glasses came from Italy which takes 3 1/2 weeks. I pointed out that she ordered the wrong ones first, so they couldn't have possibly taken 3 1/2 weeks. Instead of being nice, she got nastier and nastier. This 'owner' claims that she's been in business for 16 years and has never had this experience. If that's truly the case and I was just REALLY unlucky with 3 of 4 pairs of glasses, then she should have apologized instead of attacking me. I actually had to phone the local police to get help resolving this awful mess. They asked her to phone me and speak nicely to work things out. I would just say that when the police have to be called, a business should be avoided! read more

We are a family of 5 and only my husband had needed glasses. For the first time in 2011 we all go for a check up and Dr. Zlatin said we all needed glasses. My youngest daughter was 2. She wore them for 3 years. We just moved and saw a new doctor who said she does not need glasses, neither do I. I have a feeling it was about money and giving us the wrong diagnosis. read more

As background, I am in my 40's and have been seeing optometrists since I was 9, and wearing contact lenses since I was 13. In short, I have seen many eye doctors over the last 30 plus years. A friend recommended Dr Zlatin and his office to me. I was blown away by the expertise, patience, ability to explain the details in layperson language and the desire to look out for the care and health of the eyes. And not simply to prescribe new and more powerful lenses, which is what I had become accustomed too. In fact, the RX for my prescription was reduced. And we spoke about other preventative measures I could take to maintain the health of my eyes. To say Dr. Zlatin is thorough would be an understatement. He wants to keep your eyes and vision where there should be vs. seeing patients when things go awry. He believes in healthcare and not sick care as so many of our doctors do not subscribe to. I believe in him and his staff so much that my two boys, 10 and 11 now see him regularly. (As I was and am near sighted) I wanted to see, availing ourselves of Dr. Zlatin's ethos, mitigate as much as possible the need for corrective lenses as well as treat the health of their eyes. My wife has begun seeing the office as well. This is a good story, but one that I hear a lot....which is how we heard about Dr. Zlatin and team in the first place.
