This is a great place. The staff was everything. They genuinely care and it showed in there interactions with me and my fellows. It was almost as if I wasn't in treatment and more like I was with family. There are rules which demands structure that I wasn't used to but was 100% necessary. And I'm happy I landed there. I feel great about the direction I'm going today, which is completely the opposite from where I was going when I stumbled in, days ago (literally). Staff at BFR are very kind and welcoming. I felt very comfortable in my one on one counseling sessions with Matt. Very easy to talk to. Big fan of Damon's groups. We go on very fun outings which is another great part of BFR... hikes, swimming, beach trips. I also really appreciated Darlene's support. Over all every one was great!! read more

This place needs to be exposed for their Evil Doings. They called the cops on my husband when he just kept asking to use the phone repeatedly to call us?! Then they refused our calls to him saying we were a problem, it just didn't make any sense at all.. He also arrived with a brand new iPad & they put some old phone in the box instead of his property. He had to tell the cops to go and get his property from them. They should all be in jail for all these crimes they are committing. They basically steal the money that they say is "non refundable " then they try to get rid of you. It's so sad to see the environment in that place people are walking around going thru withdrawal, they have no medication on site. they have to drive to the nearest pharmacy to get meds for them... it's such a shame I don't think about it often anymore but now that I'm reminded my heart hurts for my husband & anyone else who had to suffer thru this! It's a complete Hell hole & the owner is a prior Addict she Bragged all about it to our family over the phone trying to convince us that he needed to be there when my husband had enough of the torture & started to refuse all the suffering they were putting him thru. I had to drive 7 hours there in total (not including the 7 hours the day we arrived) just to comfort him & he ended up leaving the 3rd day. The "owner" thought calling the cops on him would be a great way to threaten him to stay & he just said give me my stuff & that he was leaving & the policemen dropped him off at the nearest Starbucks with a huge bag of all his stuff. it was in the evening when everything was closing & COVID was new so he couldn't wait inside anywhere or sit anywhere he was basically in the dark in the middle on nowhere with valuables & a almost dead phone battery , he called us afterwards & we then drove the 3 hours 1/2 to get him. By the Grace of God we were able to find him and he was okay , luckily I had medication to help with his withdrawal symptoms.. they weren't giving him anything at all... I had to take care of him and my 3 year old son when we returned home. We missed so much work and got behind on a lot of things it was a very hard time for us. So basically this "program" or whatever it is Will take your kindness for weakness! They will Robb you of your hard earned money! & They are just greedy unprofessional liars! This place is a complete Scam & you will regret going to this place. Me & my husband are God Fearing people! we had faith and going thru this tragedy! & this experience has made our faith in God a lot stronger. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. Addiction sucks and being transparent about it is hard. This was my first time in treatment and I didn't know what I was walking into. The house is comfortable, the medication really helps, and the food was amazing. I am forever grateful for the support the staff provided. I am now 4 months sober thanks to BFR and the plan they provided me with. Much love to all staff. read more

They are top notch with staff that is very accessible for intakes 7 days a week. I called on a client of mine and in 3 hours, his insurance was approved and he was in one of their beds. It's refreshing to have such a facility that can immediately assist any person that needs this help. read more

Don't rely on just the Google posts for this HELL HOLE. Do your research, Cherri is a lier and a conflict causer. Do not be beguiled by her soft approach, all she cares about is your hard earned money, not the well being of your loved one. Her limited staff consists of three pill pushers, no on site medical professionals at all. Their "on site doctor" was via Zoom, even the nurse is off site and in my time there I never saw one single health care professional, just constant drugs morning, noon and night or when a patient simply desires more they'll give it to you to keep you in a zombie state. read more

Cheree and her staff are exemplary. They treat all patients with respect and dignity and provide a loving and safe environment. I have referred many patients to this facility and all of my patients report that they were treated well and recommend this facility. Do NOT send your loved ones here for help! The website says they offer all these great amenities and help, but it's false. The owner talked to my mom and I the morning before going and she assured there would be tons of equine therapy, a massage anytime you needed, group therapy, and a one on one with a therapist. In 7 days I never saw a therapist and got to spend 40 minutes one Friday brushing a horse. Other than that you're expected to just sit in the house with a shared tv and 10+ other people coming off of different things and very minimal supervision. I had been on an SSRI pill for 6 months before coming here and on day three they stopped giving it to me completely. Didn't wean me off or anything and then claimed it was because it was highly addictive. Yet the minute I got there they gave me two Ativan and three phenobarbital. Then every night was giving me an Ambien and two melatonin pills. The $500 you spend for the initial doctor intake is a joke as well. He asks you literally 3 questions on the phone then tells staff what drugs to give you. Not once did they get in contact with my therapist I had been seeing for months nor my primary care physician which put me on the original antidepressant. Also, the food is horrid. Even the staff is constantly complaining about the cook. It's a money scam for sure, RUN! read more

As far as I was concerned, it was understaffed and the staff was more than likely under payed. Being a business owner at one time, I understood what was, I believe, driven by the almighty dollar. I even saw some of their employees working double shifts and patient to caregiver ratios were horrible! We are actively involved in seeing our Mother and made complaints then to the proper departments and authorities . Now, around 2021, we absolutely noticed a change. There was a new Director who I immediately introduced myself to and felt this young man's compassion and commitment immediately. His name is Nelson Rubio. Not only did the facility undergo a facelift, new floors, paint etc but more importantly more staff to provide the care our precious Mother and so many others who are there needed! The activities, physical therapy if needed , etc are being provided. I know now that our concerns are being addressed . I attribute this to their Director. He is an amazing, hardworking young man that puts his patients and staff first so our family members get the concern and care they deserve. I can say without reservations I am extremely happy our Mother is at this facility. Our Mother, though she has dementia is doing well. I want to thank Mr. Rubio, the nurses and staff for remembering that the patients are someone's family and for treating them like they are theirs. Mom will be 91 in November and doing well.

My husband was a patient at this facility in the past month…read more I found there was good and not so good at this facility. The good-the wound care nurses were excellent. The PT was very good too. But, regular nurses were scarce, the staff seemed to spend a lot of time at the nurses stations, rather than attending to patients. One patient who was briefly a roommate of my husband was left howling in pain for hours, ignored. He did have some decent day shift nurses, but the night crew was inattentive and lacking. The food was decent and the liaison with Kaiser (my husband is a Kaiser patient) was good. So, we had a bit of a mixed experience there, if you are looking at using this facility, plan on being there for the patient as much as you can, and advocate for your loved one.

I cannot remember the name of the company it has now but it's no longer covenant care. Something things have changed, but mostly the same staff is there. Patient was depressed, crying daily and upset by lack of care/professionalism/responsiveness/etc. Everything from simple questions to getting help being rolled down the hall were quite difficult. Front desk and some of the workers were helpful, but not consistent and real lack of communication among parties. Real issue is the Patient Coordinator we had assigned - Juana. I found myself multiple times asking myself what here motivations were (from money, to laziness, etc) for why she would be doing certain things or communicating the way she did to me. She tried to discharge the patient early multiple times without important test results which would then later show complications (like pnemonia that developed) and ignored concerning medical results multiple times and didn't even follow up to understand if results had been received or communicated. She didn't really "coordinate" much as we were told to figure out any transportation needed, followed up with doctors directly for information she had, followed up directly to get any medical records needed, medications, etc.) She also lacked professionalism/ethics by being told we were going to protest a discharge and then proceeded to try to get the patient to sign forms that she was explicitly was told the patient would not be signing. As the rooms are shared (3 patients per room) I also saw similar observations with others. One patient developed sepsis and I witnessed the family member crying and pleading for help as the center took over 6 hours to try to have an ambulance coordinated to move the patient properly. It was hard to watch. All I can say is if you end up here visit often and be prepared for a fight for basic care. I was there multiple times a day to assist my family member and still found it difficult to get basic answers/care. Glad we got out and have moved on.

They were both extremely kind, knowledgeable, patient, and explained to me very clearly their findings and my options. I could not have asked for better doctors. However, the reason I was able to see the doctors (who gave me desperately needed information), was because of Jesus. I was in such a panic attack that my blood pressure had elevated to alarming numbers. Jesus was able to calm me down by talking with me about the doctors and getting my history in a slower pace which allowed me to relax. He then got me some water and gave me some extra time before he had the doctor/s come in. Because of this, I was able to communicate clearly and quickly with the doctor/s - saving them both time. Additionally, the nurse checking-in patients on January 2 at 9:30 was also extremely kind and not only reassured me my care would be great, but that she recommended I see the doctors and try to manage the panic I was having. She sent me to x-ray where I had another excellent experience with not only the reception check-in, but with the technician as well. She was kind, quick, and careful with my leg that was in a bit of pain. The entire experience was beyond my expectations and, and I can't imagine ever being nervous about care there again. They have an outstanding team at the orthopedic department that I would rely on for any future needs! Thanks Jesus! The staff is completely unprofessional and absolutely do not care about your well being. One AA group was offered per day. Zero therapy. The rest of the day you are allowed only to walk around the perimeter of the building, watch DVD's and smoke cigarettes (a habit I had quit, but picked back up there since it's the only time outside, and sheer frustration). They mistook me for another patient with the same first name, gave me incorrect medication and I was scolded for not attending her group meetings before they realized I was not her. They drugged me up with sedatives to the point I could hardly walk straight. I finally refused the meds to get my mind clear and checked myself out of the program. I had to advocate for myself in a very vulnerable state. Frightening. I am still sober since leaving. Most of the other patients had been there several times, many only returning due to homelessness and needed food & shelter due to it being a hard winter. Used needles were found under mattresses. I was only given one thin blanket in the dead of winter. Strip searched and forced to shower in front of a staff member. You have no access to contact friends or family. If you do get to use a phone, hope you have a number memorized since they do not allow access to your cell phone or belongings. Your calls are monitored by a staff member, IF you get to make a call. Many of my belongings were stolen. Zero privacy. Horrible lack of communication and follow through between staff members. This is a dangerous and unprofessional facility. Avoid at all cost.

I just completed my 60 day residential program up in The Bay Area and now starting my outpatient program come Thursday. I am forever grateful for BFR, my first stop in my recovery and start of my new life. I went to detox off alcohol for 10 days 2 months ago and the staff was kind and patient even though I was not for the first 4 days. I was unwilling and furious I ended up in this place chosen by my family, I tried to leave on day 1 and the very next morning. I did not want to feel anything. I also came up with every excuse in the book to why I needed to leave, my kids need me at home, my dad is sick and needs me to care for him, and have to go back to work. The shakes, sweating and anxiety were the worst! I just wanted it to stop.... The staff and the supervisor all went out of their way to attend to my needs and assured me I was in a safe place. One thing stuck with me I was told "If a plane was crashing down, we are required to grab our own mask first before helping others" this really stuck with me. I was in no shape to care for my children or sick father while suffering from my own addiction. I am forever grateful to this place. The staff works hard and above and beyond, the food was good and comforting, snacks available, there was a staff who was transport who even went out of her way to get any snacks requested or do store runs, bed was comfy, psychologist was awesome. They don't have groups daily, maybe 2X a week, but that's part of detox. To ensure we get medically stable and get R&R. (I also complained about that too, that there was nothing to do) but now I'm grateful for staff not giving up and educating me. Even the owner was contacted to reassure me, I thought that was nice. I was with a client who posted on here... let me just say when we are detoxing it's uncomfortable , we're nasty, we say things we don't mean, we fail to admit we are just not ready to be sober. It's far easier to blame others. What they lack to tell is how nasty we can be, how demanding we are of meds to feel numb and feel "loaded" how we yell at the people just trying to save our lives and make a big deal because we feel we lost control of our life. Being in residential for 60 days has taught me a lot and I am sincerely grateful for BFR. The staff really is doing God's work, even willing to be punching bags if it means saving your life. I would recommend my loved ones here, Shame how some negative posts are only a result in a client who was not willing and ready to be saved. Thank you BFR! read more

My name is Lyndzi. I've been an addict for over 12 years on and off and in and out of detox/treatment centers. When I came to Bright Future Recovery Detox Center, I was completely blown away in ways you wouldn't imagine. I've been to some pretty grungy places to some high end places but nothing compares to bright future recovery center! The moment I walked in I was welcomed with open arms and the upmost respect. With only being there 7 days to the detox program by the second day I felt like these women were my family and that they truly cared and wanted the best for me. There was never a negative time that I had while I was here and I was detoxing off heroin! I definitely want to thank daytime Jessica, nighttime Darlene, daytime Darlene, Amanda, and Marissa! They made my short stay there feel like a home and that my past was not who I was and they were just as excited for my future as I was. These women love their jobs and give 1000% every second of the day. They make this place so comfortable and homie to start your bright future! It's a nice serene house in Hollister, CA and they also have the most two amazing chefs. And again Jessica is truly the best she has a heart of gold and bright attitude and she will go out her way for you, trust me she did so for me and I'm going to miss her very much! This place gave me another chance and the support I never felt I have, not only do i owe to myself to stay sober and on the path to recovery but I owe it to these women who truly care and have given me the strength to really live the life I deserve! Joe and I are Grace's parents. She has been in various rehabs since she found alcohol in February. Nothing has worked. She also has a severe case of bulimia. We had her at home for a couple of days and it was a nightmare. She drank everything, every time we turned around. She also ate everything and purged at every opportunity. We were over our heads. We live in the Bay Area, but we sent Grace to Southern California in March where we were told there were better Detox and treatment options. Unfortunately, Grace was ping-ponged between centers because they only want to treat one issue, or the other. Fortunately, we got Grace into Bright Future Recovery Detox in Hollister. It provided Grace with a week of acute detox that she desperately needed. In addition, Cheree, Jessica and the rest of their team went WAY above and beyond by communicating with us as we identified a (hard to find) treatment center for alcohol addiction AND eating disorders. They even helped us arrange safe travel to the ideal treatment center for Grace which is out of state. It really felt like Cheree and Jessica were, like us, on a mission to save Grace's life. The kindness and 'above and beyond' spirit really stood out to us. We are grateful and relieved to have found Bright Future Recovery Detox. They are a one-of-a-kind team. I have struggled with addiction for over 10 years. I work in the field myself ,surrendering and being the patient was hard to do. I have been to few other treatment centers, in past and hated them all. I can honestly say Bright Future Recovery was the best place for me. I never felt so safe, cared for and listen to. All the staff were so warm and friendly. Mama D was like grandma I could confide in. Jess was the sister I always wanted and told me the truth. Darlene understood my needs for self care and Larissa and Amanda made sure we still got experience life, the little trips to beach or hike in pentacles was beautiful reminder of higher power. Paint therapy was something I never thought I would enjoy, and I loved it and even look forward to Mondays. Danae was able to give me the one on one's I needed to make the smart choices. I am so happy I made the decision to stay after detox and do the work I needed. I looked forward to Sunday family visits and getting see my kids and puppy. Even they enjoyed the house and activities that we got to do well visiting. Addiction is hard and a true disease, making the choice to take care of you self is big start and I would send any of my loved ones to Bright Future. This work facility has helped a lot of people I know. All of which who have highly recommended BFR. I've heard nothing but good things about this place both in person and online so it really makes me question the authenticity of all these low star reviews. I was reading some of them and personally they all seem so fabricated, to the point in which its just to make the facility and their staff members look bad because they had a slightly negative experience. I don't believe it's fair to BFR considering the average of 5 star reviews and the indisputable fact that it has helped many people get back on their feet. Point is, BFR is a great detox facility and is a high recommendation amongst a lot of people, don't let these low star reviews persuade you into not going to BFR. Just remember that these people who are commenting hateful things were in the care of BFR and more than likely they weren't in the proper mindset to perceive the good qualities of everything BFR has to offer. read more

Bright future recovery is an amazing place. The staff is professional, kind, experienced and caring. The owner has been there and done that and completely understands and TRULY cares. She's the BEST INTERVENTIONIST. She SAVED MY LIFE and worked with my family to scholarship my co-pay. These bad reviews are for one reason and one reason only. THE ADDICT IS NOT READY FOR HELP. They will manipulate any situation. Especially to their family so they will feel sorry for them and pick them up so they can go use. I can guarantee those who write these reviews are still in their addiction. I was once that addict. Today I'm sober and clean and owe it to bright future recovery for pushing me and not giving up on me (no matter how mean and ugly I was during detox)and planning my after care. Bfr is an absolutely amazing place!!!!!!!!!! The staff is amazing. The Dr. was so caring. The house feels like home. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. One of my favorite moments was just sitting outside under the big trees listening to the birds sing. A special thank you to the owner , my interventionist , for getting through to me and saving my life, I would also like to apologize for my behavior the first 3 days of detox. I didn't think I could do it. But you all supported me through the hardest part of recovery, DETOXING. After contacting various facilities with disappointing results I filled out the online form and was contacted by Brandon only 20 minutes after submitting! On the call he was very professional and accommodating. Once he heard my story he asked for my insurance info and said he would have billing details within an hour. Less than 30 minutes later he called back advising I had full coverage and that I could come in asap. I was there the next day and was greeted by some of the best people I've met in my life. All of the staff are awesome and the program is exactly what I needed and expected. The house is nice and there is a sauna!! I mean come on!? From top to bottom this recovery center is superb. I have been struggling with addiction for awhile and if it weren't for these outstanding group of dedicated caring workers I would not be in the position I am in. Especially Matt. MATT is an extradionary counselor that has a heart bigger than the super bowl. From day one he showed to me that it wasn't about dollars and cents. It was love care and understanding. The staff really care about the clients, they make sure you have everything you need and they make you as comfortable as possible. I have been here a few times and it is by far the best rehabilitation facility I have ever been to (and I have been to quite a lot of different rehab facilities). This was my second time in treatment. This facility really felt like a home away from home. The nurses on site were so loving and caring. Not only did they help me with the starting point of my recovery they also help me set up a plan for after care treatment.
