Love the daycare center here compare to the previous one that my daughter went to. The food that they eat here is really great, probably better than the food I eat for lunch anyways. They have an app that allows the parents to track their meal time, nap time, as well as pictures that teachers take for them. As a parent, I can't recommend this place more than enough. If I could choose, I will give 0 star for Bright Horizons at Downtown Bellevue. My 22 months daughter came here for 2 days, the second day when she cry, the teacher(AR or SH) didn't care her, and let her continuously cry outside with more than one hour with a super super swollen and red eyes. However, ridiculous thing is the teacher told me the red and swollen eye is not because of cry, but because of the sunscreen!!!!!!! Also the front desk woman help that teacher say the same thing. If you value the safety and well-being of your children, I urge you to think twice before sending them to BH at Bellevue. Our son endured something no child ever should--a teacher physically abused him, leaving him injured. The most horrifying part? The center tried to bury it. They didn't call us, didn't warn us, and we only found out because we noticed the signs ourselves. After a lengthy investigation by Bellevue PD and CPS, DCYF confirmed our worst fears: this was not just neglect; it was outright abuse. And yet, the teacher responsible wasn't even removed from her position during the investigation. Since that awful day, not once has the center reached out to offer an apology or show any compassion for what happened to our son. Instead, their regional manager tried to cover their tracks with lies, claiming they had repeatedly called us--calls that never happened, as my phone records can prove. It's clear they care more about protecting the teacher and their own reputation than about the children in their care.Adding to the pain, the center's administration has shown an unsettling prejudice against Asian families and a deep-seated resentment towards parents in the tech industry, who they secretly despise while still wanting their money. The center don't want to take any responsibility and just said everything is accidentally happened. Every time, when the accident happen, we got exact same answer like this. We love it here! This is my 3rd Bright Horizons (due to moving) and by far the best one I've experienced. Current Covid protocols are excellent - temp checks for all, keep to same room of kids, zero outside visitors even cleaning staff and new parents ( must go at night when no kiddos), all staff wear masks. Due to age of kids, the kids do NOT wear masks, although the staff will support them if you choose to have your child wear a mask. Unfortunately things they drew me here aren't options right now - Art and Stem class, Play Ball and Tumbling, Kitchen - hope they can bring back someday! The director Carol is amazing. You can tell she cares a lot about the kids and teachers and makes the place run smoothly. read more

Just graduated. Despite the shutdown from March-July, ( we returned in July and have been there up until today, in Sept) and in total weve been there for 6 years now!! So grateful for the education here and the safety protocols. My heart hurts knowing we have to move on as we start Kindergarten ( if I could continue here I would!!). My son can express himself, communicate , count in english ( and mandarin!) tends to know right from wrong, uses manners, and can beat me in memory games and probably math soon enough. Mr David , Carol, Mariya, Leticia, Donna, Liz , Ritu, Daisy, Esther, Navid, all superstars. The chef - Mr Garson's homemade hummus was a fave of my sons. Meals served are going to missed from me for sure!! My son is prepared for kindergarten and was flying thru the assessment for teacher placement. We love Bright Horizon Bellevue (BHB)! Our 4 y/o daughter has been attending for the last five months and she loves it here. Prior to selecting BHB, I went and visited and interviewed many different local daycare including small home setting daycare. In short, it was easy to decide on BHB after all my visits and discussion with other programs/caretakers. Too many to list but here are a few reasons why I appreciate BHB: Teachers and Staff: First and foremost, BHB has a wonderful group of teachers and staff. While I'm most familiar with my child's classroom teachers and the leadership team who is out in the front generally, I am sure that it applies generally. Teachers are attentive, kind, and nurturing. I feel comfortable and confident leaving our child behind so that I can go to work all day and not worry about how she is doing and if she's being taken care of. That has never been an issue and I'm very grateful that I've had such peace of mind. Food: We appreciate and love the weekly menu. Food/healthy diet is very important, and we appreciated how each meal is prepared on site and it's not the typical chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, hamburgers etc. Nothing wrong with those meals per se, and I realize it's easier to feed the kids what they like, but we enjoyed our daughter being exposed to healthy menu. In the summer, I noticed that they use fresh ingredients from the garden to prepare the meals. Art: It is clear that BHB places importance on art and creativity. Perhaps because I'm not all that creative, I appreciated that our daughter was experiencing creativity and making something beautiful and fun with her classmates. They have a separate art room and a dedicated art teacher, so it's wonderful. Science Lab: Love the adorable lab coats and a separate space to grow/develop their curious minds. It's been fun to hear what my daughter did/learned in the lab. Daily Report: While I realize that some parents may think that this is a boiler plate report that they send out, I'm not sure if any other places even send out a report at all. We certainly appreciate receiving updates on what happened during the day and occasionally seeing our daughter's photos in the report. We use it to guide our conversation when we pick her up and talk about what she experienced during the day. They also send GOLD messages from time to time, which is a bit more personalized to your child and adds details of how/what she has accomplished. We LOVED receiving those! I can probably list several more but not sure who even made it to this point, ha. I highly recommend BHB to all those who are considering it. Bright Horizons at Bellevue is a money pit! If you want to waste your money on poor quality teachers and an administration team, they're your best bet. All the money you spend on tuition does not go towards what you think it does, it is just sucked up in all the art events they throw. Be careful in putting your children. I put my son in their preschool room and the teacher was so unorganized, she seemed to be under the influence any time I would try to ask about my sons day. When I tried to report it, the administration team acted very uneducated and did nothing about the matter. Why would you ever leave your children here is beyond me. My daughter attended this BH for about six months when she was two years old. We always found the rooms clean, and the teachers friendly and forthcoming. Our only complaint would be the cost, (thus why she's still not at this BH,) but it isn't outrageous for similar centers in the area. Bright Horizons has been a part of our lives for the past 4.5 years. I will be sad to see it coming to an end when my child leaves for kindergarten after being their since they were 13 months old. We have done everything from 3 days a week to full time care and it has always been wonderful. The art program in particular is especially incredible as the instructor, David White is a gifted teacher with a heart of gold. The accelerated program, lead by Julie Archer, for those kids who aren't quite old enough for kindergarten but are ready for more structure is also amazing. Bright Horizons at Bellevue is a place which I recommend to the parents who wants to send their kids to a daycare which is honest and professional and productive. The first thing when I visited about this location is the openness and transparency of the DC, I am not an easy one to trust just anyone to babysit my daughter in a closed room where none can see what's happening. Teachers and parents are always walking in the corridors and that kind of makes satisfying for me . My baby started her daycare in February 2017 and now she is already 21 months old. She loves her class and her teachers. The familiarity and bond she has developed with teachers and class is amazing. Even on weekends and vacations she remembers them and asks about Meagan, Mojgan and Ayesha. What a fabulous job they have done with this baby! She knows the names of all the colors, some fruits, animals, parts of body and actions to some children rhymes. Never expected her to learn so much at this age. Not to mention they have art and music classes for the tots which is simply amazing. During the day they keep the kids so busy with the routine of feeding them, changing their diapers, teaching them, taking them out to play, tucking them to bed and tidying up the place and taking their pictures in the process and sending them across repetitively. Salute to you guysMeagan, Ayesha, Mojgan, Kailyn, Carol and others I don't know the names of but I can't thank you guys enough for doing such a great job with my kid. Very emotional time for me to leave for an extended vacation for few months and hope to find a spot back right here at this location when we come back in February. This is not a family-style daycare that most of us want for our children -- its goal is to provide "family solution" for busy parents, which sounds fine when that's what you need and the location works for you. We decided to give it a try. 1. Teachers: The teachers we interacted with at the Bellevue Bright Horizons were very kind, but there just wasn't a lot of attention paid to what children want or like. Circle time was mechanical with no involvement from the uninterested toddlers. Daily reports were written in boiler-plate. Why do they bother sending the daily reports if there's no personality, no reflection of the lives of the children? Every day they list a book they read, a song they sang, and every once in a while a picture they painted. Our son, nearly every day, "liked playing with friends outside" or "liked stacking blocks." The photos on those reports were the only clue showing that they were, in fact, up-to-date, but the children never seemed happy or engaged. At other daycares our son is one of the happiest and most flamboyant children you've ever seen, constantly gleeful and excited. In pictures from Bright Horizons he seldom even smiles. 2. Speaking of happiness, this was the most unhappy place I have seen. As you pass through the hall, you get brief glimpses into each room through the glass doors. There is always at least one child screaming right up against the door, and I have never seen any teacher pay them any attention, whether in the morning, the afternoon, or the evening. Our son began his childcare life as an infant, and we know him to be an independent child; in his other experiences with new childcare he opened up to the place immediately. For more than a month at Bright Horizons Bellevue he still cried his heart out when we dropped him off. Bright Horizon's stated philosophy is that crying is evidence of "separation anxiety," an excuse to get parents out of the building so they were not around to "distract" the children. 3. Hygiene and communication about outbreaks of diseases. Two months into our enrollment, our son came down with Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease. Prior to this, we only received one two-sentence email stating its presence in the classroom, with no clarity how long it had been going on, how many children were infected, and whether this was a daycare-wide phenomenon or a only for his classroom. We called when he came down with it, and the response was indifferent. The infection was horrific for all of us -- he was covered by painful blisters, and when those were finally dry his skin sloughed off and he lost his fingernails -- he was out for more than two weeks. We never received a phone call or an email about him during the whole time he was sick. When we finally returned, after more than half a month, we received no recognition that they even realized that he was sick. We were greeted by his main teacher with this: "How was your weekend?" Oh, never mind. That was $800 we paid for the luxury of staying home sick with a thoroughly preventable disease. I still can't figure out how many children in that room took ill, but at one point only two children were shown in the pictures, so it seems likely most of them fell ill to that dreadful disease at one point or another. My wife and I found out she was pregnant in November of 2013, with a due date in the beginning of July of 2014. One of our first thoughts were, we need to make sure we have 3 day a week day care taken care of. My parents live in downtown Bellevue, and my wife works in downtown Bellevue as well, so we wanted to make sure we got our girl into the downtown Bellevue location. I called them right away, and went in for a meet and greet (they suggested this) on December 17th, 2013. When we left, we were very impressed, and decided this is where we wanted to put her, even though it was more money than competitors. They asked for $150 deposit for the spot. The lady that day told us "For an October 1st, 2014 start date, with a deposit, you will get in no problem, just call us and check in every few months". We thought we had the issue addressed. In April, I called them to check in, and make sure we were still on track. I was told, yes, there was nothing to worry about and to call them when the baby was born. Our baby was born on July 2nd, which we were very excited about. Once we got home and settled down, I decided to just make sure our spot was good, and fill in the day care on when we needed to start (my wife is taking 12 weeks off). I called them on the morning of July 14th, and told them we had our baby, and we were still OK with an October 1st start date if needed, but ideally we could start the week before (or I had to take a week off work). The lady who answered the phone was very polite and said the director would call us back. The director did not call us back, but sent us an email, stating that there was no longer a spot available for us. Not only was there not a spot available on October 1st, but there "most likely" would not be one until May of June. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to pay for the price of Bright Horizons without jobs. I would strongly encourage anyone to consider other options that have a more personal interest, and a higher level or professionalism. I am not sure what we could have done differently, especially since we gave them 150 dollar non refundable deposit more than 10 months prior to our start date. Now we are out 150 (non refundable deposit... least of our worries), no day care to send our girl to, and we are 10 weeks out from my wife having to go back to work. I have to assume what happened is, another party was able to fill the spot prior to us, thus affecting their bottom line. It is very evident to me, this center's only priority is profits, and not the interests of families and their children. read more

My daughter is 1,5 years old toddler has been going to this daycare for 9 months already, she is going to start with another daycare soon and I can't wait. I have been complaining about the food several times already, they have not changed a single thing. The food there is really really crappy. Like you would never feed this to your kid at home. It is just frustrating with all the money we pay ( this is not a cheap daycare) they feed 1 year old babies! with sandwiches for lunch, dry cereal with cold milk for breakfast, looots of crackers for snack (of course this is a cheap option!) I mean the person who designs this menu have zero knowledge about nutrition. Like the other day I asked why don't you have any meat for lunch? Beans are good but we are not vegetarian you should provide options for vegetarians and non vegetarians, I have been told that beans has protein just like meat. Well it is not the same kind of protein, meat, chicken has essential amino acids. My daughter doesn't like dairy, she will not also eat the sandwich, it means she will stay hungry today. When I asked them why don't you have more options, more varieties, more healthy home type of cooked meals rather than packaged crap, I have been told they have only 1 cook for nearly 10-12 ( not sure) groups. Well! Hire another cook, why is it our problem, we pay you to take care of our kids! The administration tries to save as much as possible on food, buying the cheapest options, nobody cares about the health, nutrition. My son is enrolled in the Two's program twice a week for a few months now and so far it's been a great experience! This is his first time going to a day care / early preschool program and he adjusted within a few weeks. His teachers have been so patient and caring towards him, which has helped him feel comfortable and enjoy his time there. I like their daily class schedule - it's a good mixture of activities. They also write down all the activities the kids did in class that day, as well as some personal notes about how my son did, what and when he ate and how much of it. Whenever I pick him up from school, he's always smiling and having a fun time with his other classmates. read more

Great school that has a caring and friendly staff. My little one has been going to the school for over 6 months now and we couldn't expect more from the staff and curriculum. The only knock is that the parking lot sucks. Getting in and out of the school can be rough during pick up and drop off times. My 2 year old son went to this center for a while and I have to say it was the worst experience both for him and us. On paper their curriculum seems really great and I liked their meal plan. But the teachers were very inattentive. One of them was just non existant. The first days instead of coming and making friends with my son she just sat where she was and gave us a dismissive hey and my husband saw that they just ignored my crying son in one corner and were playing somewhere else when he went to pick him up. They didn't do anything to help my son adjust and when I was dropping him off and picking him up he was crying and there is no way to know how he has been in between. They take photos of kids. I really hoped they would share those with parents. Another thing was the meals. I think there was not enough of that and they poured a little for each kid. kids that age won't be able to eat more than 2 spoonfuls and the meal time was 15 minutes. I don't think any of the kids got enough to fill them. It shouldn't be super hard to help 5 kids (I think that's how many each teacher has.) eat something. Not put the spoon in their mouth. just guide them and also 15 minute is not enough for a toddler to finish his meal. read more

My son has been going to this daycare center since he was 13 months old and has been with BH for almost a year. I choose this location over the BH at Summit because of the outdoor playground area. This center offers Mandarin program (from what I remember the Summit location doesn't). The art program is inspiring and fun. This particular center even has a kid rock climbing wall in the gym room! Every once awhile the center invite parents for a special event night which they provide "dinner" (ex: pancake, egg casseroles, wraps, fruit salad, etc). Staffs at the center are nice and approachable. Most of teachers are experienced but they might not as attentive as one might think. The teacher to student ratio is 1:7 for toddler and 1:5 for preschooler. Yes, they do get busy in the class. Do expect to see diaper rashes for your child once awhile because their dirty diaper didn't get change in time. Also, do expect your kid have the experience to taste their own snot because teachers can't keep up wiping the running nose. One thing that bothers me the most is the meal. For breakfast, if you miss the 8:30/8:45am mark, your child may not have any food to eat because either the teacher didn't save it or there aren't just enough food left to serve. The tuition cost for infant / toddler is over $2000 and starting pre-k is roughly at $1700. Not all BH are equal. The one I've visited in AZ all teachers are either working towards or already have a child-education degree. This BH center doesn't seem to emphasize much on the education level for the staff. My overall experience with this BH center remains positive given the teachers I have for my son are pretty decent. Other parents have told me they are disappointed with the care this center provided for the amount of tuition they charge. :-\ read more

I have been with Bright Horizon's since 2006 when my first daughter was 3 months old - my girls are now almost 5 and 3 and I would not have wanted them any other place. Our preschooler started here just a few months ago and I am very impressed. We looked at all of the centers in the Bellevue area and found that this Bright Horizons had the best mix of programming, care, staff and location. The teachers truly seem to care for him and I love that they have such a fantastic mix of curriculum. The nice thing is he really seems to enjoy each day there. I'd like to rate this daycare as ok but there are too many flaws. The good news is that I found most of the employees there cared about the kids. I think some of the employees were outstanding. Also, they do seem to have a lot of projects for the kids with a full curriculum. However, there were a few who seemed apathetic towards the kids or just frustrated. Most of these seemed to be the ones with the greatest seniority. She was cold and distant, both to my wife and I and to our infant. On one occasion, I left my son with her - and stayed to witness their interaction. I was so upset by watching him try in vain to engage her and she ignoring him that I became very upset. When we left the daycare for good, my wife wrote a note critiquing her - the manager didn't even acknowledge it (she did address other matters in our review). Her reputation as a cold person was subtlety though clearly acknowledged by his two subsequent providers. On another occasion, I brought in my son a bit late in the morning. I witnessed one of the providers actually screaming at the kids to stay in line. I know how difficult toddlers and preschoolers can be to control - but if the best you can do is scare them into obedience you shouldn't be doing that line of work. It was also clear to me that the employees were overworked which led to their frustration. At least two employees left during our short time there - so any info. you get that there is little turnover is inaccurate. The kids also shift rooms and providers a lot - seemed like once a year in the younger rooms then every 6 months. Perhaps that occurs in all for-profit daycares, but probably more so in this facility because there are a lot of kids. Finally, Bright Horizons in general costs significantly more than other daycares, and you don't get the value for it. read more
