Although the parking lot is certainly challenging right now, during construction, I still prefer coming to Bright Light over the nearby hospitals for imaging. You can get in and out pretty quickly and the staff here is extremely fast and helpful. Plus, if your insurance doesn't fully cover your procedure, it is much less to cover than in hospital test costs. I am always impressed with how fast my appointment is whenever I have come here. Nice bonus having Jarosch Bakery next door too, as you can grab coffee and a pastry after your test. read more

We called and set up an appointment which was at 6:30 am and gave doctor order, gave Medicare and secondary insurance information. We arrived at 6:15 am for the 6:30 am appointment and was told they got approval for Medicare but they did not request approval for secondary insurance and that we would be responsible for anything Medicare did not cover. I said all our information was given over the phone and the lady had put me on hold while she checked insurance and said everything was completed. Bad part is my husband needed to be drugged prior to service, so we drugged him for no reason. and now we have to start all over with registation and request new script for Ativan. Drove 50 miles to be rejected at the door. I just called to speak with scheduling manager and got the run around. They said no manager is available to take my call. No problem - We are not coming back. read more

1 star is too good to even put for the way everything is handled, the way patients are treated, and the care that they offer is a joke, what care? The only thing Bright Light cares about is $$ - NOT patients, not customer service not even their own billing department. Each time a "manager" was supposed to speak with me or call me back, they didn't, they passed the buck onto someone from the department to speak with me and not get me to a manager. First, it was spending 4.5 hours of my original appointment time getting my insurance information correct because they "don't do phone verifications" and only go off of an online portal - if I wanted my insurance information to be correct then I should have my insurance call their billing department to get it fixed - and to top it off the BILLING department - told me that my $2200 procedure was actually $4400 and that $2200 was my 20% STILL having issues - supposed to have a CT scan tomorrow and I had to call and reschedule because I ended up in the ER all day VOMITING and not being able to stop - and they did NOT mention a rescheduling fee when I called to reschedule, for the first time I got a person that actually sounded concerned about my wellbeing (their calls are recorded as well but they still are charging me EVEN though they SAID NOTHING of it verbally to me when I was sitting in the hospital bed in the ER rescheduling the appointment) - I had to call my actuals doctor's office to have them remove it since it only became relevant once I PROVED I met my out of pocket maximum. THIS ENTIRE month and a half dealing with bright light has put my patient care, and treatment back an entire month - and the fact that I have to consistently do my OWN insurance verifications is wild to me and I don't even work in medical. Tomorrow WILL BE MY LAST time ever stepping foot in bright light - the fact that I was told I was a problem, that I call so much, and that I was getting hung up on. I was very excited to start working here until Unfortunately I had to call in sick two days in a row This week was my last training week and today they called me saying I'm not a good fit and they had to part ways, unbelievable bills to pay and now what to do, I guess everyone at first is nice but later you get stabbed in the back, oh well now I have to find a job asap, the starting pay was low anyway praying to God to get something quick, good people always get punished but got some offers already and Much more money an hour I deserve, would I recommend this place, not sure I have mixed feelings. read more

Last week I went to Bright Light for an arthrogram MRI of my left hip. The staff at the front desk were friendly and got me checked in quickly. They have private changing rooms for patients and provide a key to lock it up when you go for imaging. As of my personal experience-- The xray staff were extremely patient with me as I'm seriously afraid of needles and was not a happy camper about the injection of contrast dye into my joint. Nothing to do with them, I am just a total wuss about needles and pain. When I went in for my MRI, the technician gave me earplugs and offered to play whatever music I'd like from their Pandora account. All of these things were greatly appreciated. Even though getting an arthrogram MRI is a less-than-fun experience, the team at Bright Light were doing what they could to make it a pleasant experience. My doctor had the report by the end of that same day. I would absolutely recommend Bright Light in Elk Grove Village to anyone in need of medical imaging. read more

Last spring, my dr referred me to Bright Lights Medical Imaging for a routine mammogram. The staff was excellent from the moment I walked in the door. No woman enjoys mammograms, but they made the experience more tolerable than I anticipated. My scan came back with an abnormality and I was told I needed to come back for a more thorough mammogram and for an ultrasound. With an extensive family history with cancer, I wasn't thrilled. I made an appt to return, but in my distress, I mistakenly showed up a week too early. Despite not having an appt that day, they very kindly squeezed me in anyway so that I wouldn't have to return a week later. After a lot of waiting, I was thankfully diagnosed with a harmless cyst and sent on my way. So why did I receive a letter almost a year later stating that my scan was reviewed (again??), they found an abnormality, and to call immediately?! I stressed all weekend before reaching them and ultimately finding out that they just wanted me to do a routine follow-up for the cyst. Not at all what the letter was made to sound like. I'd had a very positive experience prior to this letter, but am now very suspect about this business. It comes off like a scare tactic which I don't appreciate at all. read more

Dishonest billing practices. I called ahead to ask of the cost of a medical scan called CT Calcium Score and was told that it is "$99 to self pay and they also accept insurance." I gave my insurance information and made an appointment for the procedure. Later after the procedure, I learned that they billed my medical insurance account for $582. I called the billing department of Bright Light Medical Imaging to find out how this happened. They said that the $99 cost was actually intended for patients who have no insurance (that was some news!) and that it was my decision to use insurance and therefore all my fault and there was nothing they could do. Following this logic, since they knew I was going to use insurance ahead of time, why give me the $99 cost figure when you KNOW it is not going to apply and you are going to change insurance $582 instead?!?! It is my impression that they effectively lied about the actual cost they charge for a service to get more money through the insurance company. read more

After decades as a Nurse Practitioner, my opinion is that Bright Light Elk Grove Village is the most qualified medical imaging center, far surpassing Ascension Alexian Bros. in professionalism, expertise, state of the art equipment & timeliness. Can't be much happier with this place. I went there for my chest X-ray today. I was able to schedule an appt. same day and just within 1 hour after calling this office. Front staff was extremely kind and professional. Overall this place is super clean and newly renovated. Will need my thyroid ultrasound soon and I will schedule it here as well. Came here to get some MRIs that were not covered by insurance. $295! If you are in need of an MRI (and who isn't!?!) this is the place to go. First of all, everyone was kind throughout the process... making the appointment, checking in, and getting it done. The MRI machine is loud and scary and they do a great job of keeping you calm. The music in the main waiting area was poppy and peaceful. The actual technician, James, was upbeat, sociable, and excited. He made sure I wasn't scared throughout and kept it lighthearted. It took about 18 minutes for a brain scan. My wife also got her shoulder and it was 12 minutes. Request James if you can! They were running late on the schedule so they gave us an Amazon gift card for the trouble! Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and by the looks of the overall ratings on Yelp, it's pretty consistent. Would visit again and would highly recommend! read more

I went to the Wheaton location for an MRI All the women who work there are so friendly and knowledgeable They have private changing rooms and lockers. The best part a,re you can get a same day or next day appointment, 1/3 the cost of a hospital visit and free parking. read more

Really fantastic service for a medical imaging place. There was a snafu with my insurance processing but they rectified it and then some. All of the staff, but particularly the medical staff were really friendly, helpful, and kind. The doctor did an excellent job and I was very impressed that my procedures all went much smoother than the other times I had gotten them at other facilities. I came in for a 6:30pm appt and they didn't get me in until 7:45pm ONLY after inquiring at the front desk...like they had forgotten about me. Everyone was really nice and the facility clean with nice decor. The 2 stars portion of this review come with the techs who prepped me for my CT with contrast- NO GLOVES. And they did not swab the area with alcohol either before inserting the IV. I loudly objected, as it became evident that their barehanded "looking for my veins" had quickly become we are going to insert the needle, and they told me "their hands were clean...that they would clean the area once the lead was in and that alcohol would make my veins harder to find." BUUUUUULLLLLLSH**. I've had IVs and blood draws before, always gloves and alcohol swabs. I was shocked, especially in the time of COVID that more hygienic practices were not followed. I was already in a lie down position with body in machine when this happened, short of throwing myself off the table could I have gotten up and away. The scan was finished and I left, very upset. I will be calling the DOH and calling the owner of this business to complain. "Medical" should be removed from their business title if this is how their techs conduct a basic IV insert. read more

I had MRI scheduled n was in a lot of pain when I walked in the staff was very pleasant and the waiting area clean and comfortable. I tried to do the MRI but being clostetphobic I couldn't they assured me that I was not the first person not to so I changed n they explained they had open MRI machine at there Melrose Park location so they rescheduled me there n set everything up so all I had to do was go there. What a wonderful relaxing feeling from first parking in a lot instead of garage & walking miles, to the full experience. Inside relaxing, quiet & short walk to test area. Only had to remove articles with metal! It was not freezing & they had warm blankets. People were extra gentle & nice no rushing or annoyance with anything. Felt safe. Super fast...no waiting & got copies & out door. Area was nice, next to Elk Grove Bowl. I would come here instead of anywhere. _______ Very different from high end place on Lake Shore Drive sent to time before w nowhere to park checking meter, blocks to walk inside building, nasty entitled attitude, impatient sarcastic & delighted in making undress fully for knee & not happy too slow. All the worker at the front desk are not that friendly and they do not smile but the girl who took me for my two tests was very nice and friendly. I believe they overbook appointment and the phone service needs help. When you call their number for questions you have a option to press a number to receive a text message that says a member will get back to you in 1 to 3 hours well I waited 7 hours and no text or call back so DO NOT press that option it sounds good but does not happen. I had a CT scan done for my Oncologist for my lungs to me this is VERY Important and I was told on Tuesday (11 AM) early morning that my doctor will have my report later this day well Wednesday my doctor did not have the report it is now 9 AM and another call at 4:30 PM so I called Bright light Wednesday the same day my Oncologist say they did not have the report Bright Light. Elk Grove IL. I will no longer go to Bright light for any services. All I can say is Bright light needs to hire more help and stop that text message that says someone will call you back in 1 to 3 hours because it will not happen. read more

I have had great experiences at bright light Imaging. I saw Christina today she did an ultrasound on my breast. She is so professional and nice. Actually last July 2019 she spotted a small lump in my right breast. So I was told to come every 6 months to see if it changed. So with good news today I went for my 6 month check-up and it has not changed. But thank God for Christina she found it oh, I am so grateful for her professionalism and her telling me about this growth I had. And I am so grateful for Bright Light to get me a mammogram and an ultrasound to make sure that everything's okay. So a big shout-out to Christina B. Investigation reports & Insurance can be always stressful. But with Bright Light it was really smooth process for us. I asked bunch of questions to Sinthia and she was approachable & responsive. She really helped me to choose right options for me. I also got appointment of my choice date and time. Office experience was not different. The office staff was also excellent . We got attended right on appointment time & All the investigations were completed within 1 hour. When I called for the reports also , support staff not only faxed the report to the doctor but also sent reports to the proper email id immediately after proper verification. read more

I had an appointment on Sunday. I was a little scared, since I never had this exam before, but the staff was very nice and I did not have to wait long. The radiation technologists was exceptionally friendly. First she answered any questions I had, secondly she was just so gentle. I felt so comfortable. I came in today for an MRI. The office was very clean, the staff was very friendly as well. I was ushered by the tech to a changing room and she made sure I had the right sized gown and pants. I locked up my belongings in the change room and she took the key to store while I was in the MRI machine. She assisted me onto the platform and asked if I would like music and what kind, I said something calming and she put on some nice piano music which was a nice touch I hadn't expected. The whole scan took about 25mins. She then assisted me up as my back was hurting so bad I couldn't sit up on my own. She handed me my key and I went back to change into my street clothes, I then picked up my images in a cd they had waiting on my at the counter. The whole process was very quick and easy! read more

Let me start with... The front staff at this facility were excellent, competent, articulate and kind. However, I am throughout disgusted and will not return. I had originally followed my physicians recommendation that I obtain a routine mammogram here... The results signaled I should get a follow up ultrasound, no worries... However, when I showed up for my ultrasound appointment I was subjected to further exploring mammograms before being allowed to have the ultrasound; this caused undo angsts and discomfort as well as messing up the ultrasound appointment causing me to have to return another day. There is no information contained in second set of mammograms that would disallow the need for the ultrasound and although, possibly useful next year as a baseline the benefit would be negligible at best. I was inconvenienced, both my insurance company and i were subjected to an cost. read more

First I would like to say that I do not do well in an enclosed environment like being in an MRI machine, so I was a little anxious as soon as I arrived. Jim the MRI tech was outstanding in accommodating me any way possible. Without him there I do not think I would have made it through the scan. He went way above and beyond and had a great personality to boot. You can tell he really enjoys what he is doing for a living. Pay the man!! He's worth his weight in gold! Everybody there was very friendly and nice and like other reviewers said, the place was very clean. All together it made for a great experience in what could be an otherwise intimidating environment. I needed both an X-ray and MRI. Everyone was top notch professional from scheduling to technicians. I felt terrible as I had to reschedule my tests because my garage door spring broke when I was trying to leave. They were able to reschedule me for a few days later with no penalty for last minute rescheduling. Although I went on a Saturday morning, I only had to wait about 10 minutes tops, and it was very convenient to be able to get both tests done right after each other in the same facility by really super friendly people. I got to listen to some awesome tunes during my MRI (They have Pandora!) and the Tech even skipped over the commercials for me and they sent me home with a copy of all my tests on a DVD at no extra charge. I also appreciate the phone call I received a few days before the tests explaining their contracted rates with my insurance and my remaining deductible and how much I could expect to eventually owe (while reassuring me no money would be due at my appointment).
