Don't get me wrong-I love Brighton Market. Their chicken and pizza are something to rave about. However, today I got something that was a very big miss for this store. I got a lamb gyro, which was, well, it got fed to the dog. Pluses, the naan bread was really good and moist-even though it had been under a warmer. The meat, was tough as leather and lacked flavor. It had mayyyybe 3 pieces of onion on it and the sauce/you would think they were rationing out a teaspoon between 20 sandwiches. It was nonexistent. Customer service sucks people behind the counter are very rude especially the younger guy or the woman that work here

My review is regarding service. Love the store, the varietal offerings, and "market" feel. However.....I don't live in Brighton but am in the area quite often. I've stopped in this place 4-5 times now since the new building went up. The counter employees are terrible at Customer Service. I've gotten no greeting, eye contact, friendly or helpful demeanor, or even ACKNOWLEDGEMENT that I'm standing waiting to be cashed out. (especially by a taller/larger, darker haired, Middle Eastern looking man who's been rude more than once now. He may be owner or Mgmt.) I was ignored by multiple people behind the counter. (the BIG guy mentioned above too) The young man who waited on me yesterday didn't say hello as I walked up to counter but continued his conversation with the previous customer while he scanned my items and then didn't even tell me my total. I had to abruptly ask, interrupting his conversation, "what do I owe you?" Even had to ask for a bag for my purchase. Awful feeling to leave a place of business this way. CUSTOMER SERVICE MATTERS!!! The only exception I've experienced.....AUTUMN! She is friendly, conversive, greets, smiles, and is excellent at the counter. Every other person, mostly guys, have been awful. I've tried to give this place multiple chances over time by giving people the benefit of the doubt but the same pattern repeats. Hey big guy.....put a smile on your face and acquire a friendly attitude or get Autumn to show you and your other counter help the way. She is excellent!!! Probably won't be stopping in again anytime soon. Bit disgusted at this point. I am in Highland, MI......not Utica!! read more

Well I tried again and this time for the last time. I was unhappy after my last order but even more so after this order. It's really too bad because their food is good but their customer service is bad. I ordered a chicken meal to be delivered at 12:30 and when the driver got there to pick it up, they hadn't even started it yet. But the chicken dinner for eight pieces comes with eight pieces of chicken 1 pound of coleslaw 1 pound of potatoes and two rolls why would you have eight pieces of chicken with only two rolls? Salad (chicken Greek) was fantastic. 1# was probably enough for 2 people. Fried items were generic. Delivery was great. Pizza was average, pizza roll was average/different. The only negative were the buttermilk biscuits with honey...there wasn't any honey ant the biscuits smelled like "dirty feet". It seemed like there was a substitution made ... awful. read more

I've been coming here for many years and I have to say I will not be back. I was treated poorly by the staff in the kitchen that are obviously not happy with their job. Just because there was a large order for catering doesn't mean the counter customers deserve to be treated aggressively. When I complained to one of the owners all I received was some shrugged shoulders and a "yeah you shouldn't be treated like that" type brush off. I know I'm only one bottom of the barrel customer.......But I have a lot of friends in the Livingston county area.....NEVER get too big for your britches. Peace out read more

This is such a shady looking market with hot food and an amazing selection of beer! So much beer that I was overwhelmed by the choices! I have to get this part out of the way. I was looking in a beer cooler and as I went further down, there was a cooler in the store, accessible to everyone, with raw, uncovered meats. Ew. I will never buy prepared food from there. That seems like it should be against health code. Let's look at the good stuff. If you're looking for a specific beer, this is the place. I came in looking for a Polish beer called Zywiec. It's one of my favorites and they had it! They also had a couple of other Polish beers to try. In addition to the beer selection, it's a great place to grab something you maybe forgot at the grocery store. Just be careful of the hot food! read more

I love to try new beers so based on the other reviews I decided to give this place I try. My first impression walking in was bad. The place is a mess. Overcrowded shelves, narrow aisles and boxes all over the floor. It also smelled like a grease trap and most, if not all, of the bottles had a film of grease on them. It just permeates the air. Yes, an impressive selection of beers but I don't think they move enough inventory because several of the bottles I checked were already beyond the " best by" date. The new owners/managers have really turned this store around. The food coming out of the kitchen all looks and smells great, it's clean, and smells good! There has been a strong effort to turn this store around, and it's paid off. They maintain state minimum liquor prices with a HUGE selection, and they'll even special-order for you. Everybody working there is helpful and nice, and they'll go out of their way to assist you. Give this store a try, they're really contributing positive things to the community. read more

Unfortunately I can't write a review about it as it sits today. But if the moderator would be so kind I would like to share this. When I was 6 years old I lived in the little upstairs apartment attached to the back wall with my Grandmother Edith. The store was called, "The Busy Bee Market" back then. Today the stairs to the upper apartment, (if it is still there), are covered. Not when I was a child. We braved them snow and all and they were straight down, not turned. I decided to write this because this has a long history of serving the area. There was a roadside pizza shack out front that was closed in the winter and nearby there was a roller rink. My Dad lost a few cars in Briggs Lake in the Winter as did others back in the 50's and early 60's. I used to go downstairs to watch the delivery truck unload boxes of food at the back of the store. They set out skate conveyors and the boxes wizzed by as the entered the back door of the store. It was a real treat for a young boy to watch. I miss those days and the atmosphere there. The "croutons" in their salad are just bread. Not crunchy or seasoned at all. I had a Caesar salad and it came with mozzarella cheese instead of parmesan. Went here to get money retrieved from Western Union. Big Mistake! Instead of giving me my money, they gave me a money order. So, in order to get my money they charged me $5 to cash the money order. He put on an act and said "oh, you want to cash it here..."? "Oh, well that will be $5 then"... I am so angry that while I am here wasting more of my time, let me tell you what I truly think of this store... I have only been here a few times and there a reason for that. A few years ago, I came in to see what they had to offer. I found expired meat and not so fresh vegetables and overpriced! Dirty and dusty and the front doors are dirty, finger prints and smudges all over the doors even to this day... Went a second time a year ago and same place, just dirty and overpriced. I didn't noticed if meat was fresh, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that note. I have lived in Brighton for almost 30 years. It is an upscale community. Get on the ball! Check out your competition which is within a mile. I will go back to Meijer or other stores to do my Western Union from now on.
