Never ever go with BRIGHTSPEED. I started connecting to Brightspeed for internet service at the beginning of the month and was set up for service on the 7th. Today is the 24th of the month and the 6th time rescheduling. Too many excuses too many problems. read more

I change from Spectrum to Brightspeed. Worst decision ever. If you trying to save just ask the current provider what offers can they provide you. They did two installations which where both wrong so I have to keep asking for technical assistance to come over my house and fix it. After finally having everything in order , the internet was poor so I had to reset the equipment, after that no service at all and they send me another technician. I ended up cancelling it and going back to spectrum. I installed spectrum which I only had to connect the modem and Router but didn't work, brightspeed technician intentionally damage spectrum lines so spectrum have to come over and fix all the damage that brightspeed technicians did unfortunately. Not worth at all. Don't waste your time and money. read more

I have been a customer for over 10 years. Originally it was Century Link in my area before being bought by Bright Speed.I have had a outage from a lightning strike which struck their lines.I called it in and they told me the soonest they could get a repair tech out would be in 3 weeks ! Three weeks have come and past and still without Internet and when you call you get someone overseas that speaks half English that does little to help resolve the issue. Worst company ever, beware of this provider. read more

They bought/changed out Century Link yet they have no concern for many of the customers that the company they bought/changed-out served. We can get no updated service so we are stuck with slow service. In 2024-25 that is unthinkable. Their customer service is atrocious. Misinformation is given out by agents and no one cares- just an oh, we are sorry. Sorry doesn't get me internet service I need for work. The last agent was condescending with "what can we do to make your day better" knowing they would do nothing different. Someone needs to create competition for them or they will continue to abuse customers. read more

Horrible customer service. We are moving so I called to give 30 days notice as they do not service our new location. After getting the run around for over 30 minutes, the representative Melody finally confirmed a cancellation date for next month. Not even an hour later they cut off our service and wiped out our modem. We both work from home so this was very concerning . Upon calling to have them fix their mistake they cheerfully said we could buy a new modem and obtain new service and a supervisor never responded to our repeated requests for help, absolutely horrible service! read more

They scheduled my original service installation appointment for May 31st. But did not tell me that I needed a DSL modem instead of a cable modem. So, I purchased a DSL modem, hooked it up to find out that they hadn't completed the install and would have to come back on June 6th to finish the job. So, my service began on June 6th. 3.1 megabytes per second top speed when they said in their advertisements speed of up to 20 megabytes per second on DSL. Again, on the phone they failed to tell me that in our area speeds were considerably slower than their maximum advertised. June 25th, I get an email saying that they decided against my wishes to put me on automatic payment. So, I canceled their incredibly slow service and ended up paying $50 for 19 days of internet connectivity that was slower and more expensive than hotspotting through my cell phone. Terrible company, will never do business with them or anyone affiliated with them again. read more

This company is without a doubt the worst service provider I've ever dealt with. I have had to use them for years because there is no other option in my location. They have proven time and again that they can not deliver on the service they agreed to provide. All I've asked them to do is provide the speed I pay for, and it has almost never happened. I am very disappointed in Brightspeed. I made an appointment on 05/24/24 for installation of internet service on 06/06/24, on the date of the appointment the router was installed in my house but there was no connection to my the main source. The connection to the main source should have been done before the date of the appointment but it was not done. I called the customer service and I was told I have another appointment on 06/24/24 to have the for the connection to the main source to be done. On 06/11/24, I called the technician and was told the lines have been laid the day before (no one said anything to me), I checked my connection and I still did not have internet connection. I called Brightspeed on 06/12/24 and spoke to someone who claims to have been working with the company for 24 years and she was the worst. She argued with me about the process and I kept telling her I don't think internet connection should take this long because I know neighbors who got internet connection on the day of their appointment. She then made changed the appointment to 06/19/24 claiming the earliest someone can come out is 06/18/24 ( I wasn't going to be available). At this point I am fed up with their incompetence and poor customer service, I am going to cancel the service tomorrow and stay with my current internet service provider. read more
