During our phone conversations 800 miles apart, my dad expressed his genuine gratitude for the tender care and attention that every single member of the staff provided. My dad had a happy and successful stay. The PT and OT he received were excellent and if he ever had to go into a skilled facility again, this is where he would stay, hands down. My mother expressed her relief when she visited him and when she left at the end of the day. She knew he was being so well taken care of. Finding a quality rehab facility can be challenging as many of the reviews are negative posts. It's important that I share my family's excellent experience so that it may be easier for others to make a decision in their rehab facility search! Dr. James A. Krcik is a coward. I saw him 3 times and each time he had to idea who I was. He lost…read moremy paperwork, when it was located I asked for it back to take it somewhere else, lost it again, once found he had signed and initialed it (saying it was received and reviewed) but yet he had no idea why I was there. I called and emailed a request for him to call me about my lost results. Dr. Krcik refused to call me as a patient under his direct care. When I emailed him in the livewell app, I got a respond from his staff saying "He will never call you". When I contacted the CEO to complain I was just treated like a criminal and later Dr. Krcik recommended me to another doctor, just to get me out of his hair. He falsified his appointment notes to make it seem he was more helpful than he was. Dr. Krcik wasted my time, money and allowed my prolonged pain for over 6 months. His facility in South Elgin is disorganized, the staff are self righteous and Dr. Krcik only cares about himself.

Clarendale has greatly exceeded our family's expectations. After my mother passed in February of…read more2017, my 84 year old father needed an assisted living facility that met a variety of his needs - food preparation, housekeeping, personal assistance, 24 hour nursing and entertainment. Clarendale provides these services but goes WAY above and beyond what is normally expected. There is a bar with a daily happy hour, a theater room, health club, spa, salon, fine dining, cafe and even a house golden retriever. If you want to celebrate holidays at the facility, you can rent out a private dining room that has a capacity of 10-12. Clarendale feels more like a W Hotel than a retirement home. For years leading up to my father's move, i contacted a variety of assisted living facilities in the NW suburbs and routinely concluded the calls shaking my head. Aggressive sales pitches and evasive language were the norm (Friendship Village was the worst in this regard). While Clarendale does employ sales staff, it isn't so over-the-top. Moreover, staff are engaged and appear genuinely interested in providing a superior experience. In terms of the overall package (apartment finishing, staff, facilities, extra amenities), Clarendale is exceptional - better than Sunrise and Friendship Village. As this facility recently opened, everything is in pristine condition. In terms of superlative alternatives, the only option I found is Mather [of Evanston], which has few locations and, like a timeshare, can require over a million dollars upfront (literally over 1 million USD to buy in). That being said, Clarendale is great. There are a few corner apartments remaining as of April 2017, so if your loved one is seeking something posh with views of two separate directions, I would highly recommend grabbing one of these units before they are occupied.

When she told me about options about the shower schedule she had to do a bed bath on me and treated me with dignity and made me feel confortable. From that day on i knew that while she was there i was in good hands with a caring person. There was a few more people there that always made me confortable and these people are the reeptionist i always called her georgeous and she called me hansome she made me feel at home i didn't get here name and i am sorry. there was two more people that really kicked my butt in therapy and they were Agnes and Ross they really worked me because they knew how bad i wanted to go home and they did not take it easy on me i appreciated that there were days when i got back to my room and just exhausted. This is the reason that this review is not five stars and it comes down to privacy. This is more for the second shift when the door is closed to the room it is only proper to knock and wait to be answered before coming in to the room. They had a habit of just walking in the room without knocking. There was a couple of times where i was in the bathroom and they just barged in and opened the door. Even though it is a kind of a hospital vibe when the door to the room is closed it should be considered being private and the courtesy is to knock not just walk in the door. if i ever have to go back for rehab i would go back to avondale

I'm familiar with these places as my…read moregrandmas been also in Waconda care and I have worked in places like this myself doing direct care. They responded to call buttons quicky. They were friendly. My grandma looked like she had been bathed and hair brushed. When I would talk to my grandma with questions about things they would come over on their own an answer my question. I didn't even have to ask. They adhered to her diet restrictions. I only had one complaint and they addressed it before I was even able to complain and it didn't happen again. They had private showers in their room. The bathroom was kept clean. She had her own room. All the other patients were lovely. ( Except for a grumpy guy but that's not their fault )If we are in this situation again I would definitely choose to send her here vs Waconda care. Hope this helps.

Should have left when he said that. I had a horrible experience. Billing sucks. You cant reach the office if you call. You get directed to call center, who doesn't know what they are doing, the office staff is terrible. Gad nothing but issues. the medical assistants tried to take blood, but jabbed me 3 times in each arm. Never had this issue before. Calls do not get returned, they lie about the service, they lose your toe nail, which was supposed to be biopsied and had to 'dig in' to it on the next visit, which again could not get blood from me. I spent a year trying to resolve this. Just a horrible, pathetic experience. I have worked in healthcare 25 years and would never, ever treat people the way I was treated and lied to there. Would not recommend to anyone. sickening the way they do business and treat people
