This business is AWFUL.. I hired a BrightStar caregiver for eight hours to help with post surgical care. I fell asleep for one hour after the caregiver arrived and my "caregiver " apparently decided to make a swift exit for the front door! Additionally, the front door was left unlocked on the way out, leaving me in a dangerous and precarious position when I was least able to handle a situation like that. My pain medications were missing as well, unfortunately. When I contacted BrightStar about my experience, the owner/ manager could have cared less. Very indifferent to the care their organization provides. Do yourself a favor and avoid this business at all costs. read more

We've been using Brightstar for the last seven months. Something appears to have changed with management and staffing. The care is still good quality, but it's become unreliable in terms of people showing up and staying. This constant revolving door of caregivers has caused a lot of angst for my mother. I'm now actively looking for another agency. I hope Brightstar can figure this situation out. I suspect it's happening to a number of their clients. My advice: Do your homework, and ask for references from other clients who have the kind of care you need. UPDATE: We had to find another agency. Brightstar appears to be on a downward trajectory. At core it appears to center around poor pay for caregivers and poor office management. I've downgraded it from 3 to 2 stars. read more

Last December, our daughter entered into hospice care, at home, for a terminal brain tumor that she bravely and valiantly fought. We chose BrightStar to augment her hospice care and it was sincerely one of the best decisions we have ever made.
