Their claim to fame is that they are a family run facility And take care of the people in town with whom they grew up. All they want is your money. They make it look and feel very welcoming when you enter the facility. Frank Sinatra is playing in the background, blah, blah, blah. I'm not going to get into detail but just say that we brought my mom there and we left within two hours with mom in tow. They knew my mom was coming. Upon entering the nurse brought us into the room. The beds were not made, the floor was filthy, the bathroom was disguisting, toothbrushes left behind from another resident and the toilet seat was broken! It's sad to think that our seniors, Most likely their last stop, this is the way they have to spend their remaining time on earth.

Arbor introduced me not to the end of my life, but the next chapters in it. I've met new interesting people who have become friends. I share meals, stories, movies, theater and time with them. As one ages you begin to lose your contemporaries, I found them here. I no longer worry about the upkeep of my house or paying utility bills. Cooking and cleaning and decorating for the holidays and getting the trash out are now Arbor Terrace's job. There is a big snowstorm coming? Who cares? I'll be fine. I am in my 60s, so I always say "I'm early to the Early Bird'. My time is now spent planning trips, going to classes and enjoying my life. Every staff member does more than their job description requires. One feels safe here. I live independently for sure but there is someone here should I fall, get sick or need someone to talk with. Bloodwork, podiatrist, dermatologist and GP will come to me. I'm not worried about making doctors appointments and if I to make one, Arbor will drive me.
