They got to know him: music he liked, stories he told, hobbies of his, and more. They took the time to know his family: our names, relations, where we were from, and so on. We would spend hours in his room and they would bring us trays of food directly to us- sandwiches, cookies, coffee/tea.. anything we needed! They took such great care of my grandfather and us, giving us one less thing to worry about in a tough time. When my grandfather passed, there was a sweet nurse next to him. He talked about how gentle and kind she was, and she was able to be right next to him as he passed away. It gives our family great comfort to know that he was in good hands before we could be there. Every single person we interacted with was so unbelievably kind. If you are nervous about leaving a family member here, I can tell you that, from my experience, they will be taken great care of.

For months my grandpa was scoring in the range to be in assisted living (above 22 points out of…read more30), and then he scored an 8. Mattison Crossing gave my mom a two day notice to move him into memory care. Since we still own his house in East Freehold, we got him a live-in and moved him out. Mattison Crossing says that we have to give them a thirty day notice to move out if the facility to prep for the next resident. The other day, my mom got a bill in the mail for $20,000 because we refused to pay for April and May. She took pictures of herself outside of the facility and pictures with timestamps of his empty apartment before May 1. Earlier in February, there was a massive norivurus outbreak (or a stomach flu). Nobody cleaned the place so my grandpa had it for several days and everyone in my family, except for me, got the disease. We've had to cancel several family events during the time and we fell behind in after school curricular activities because we were out the whole month. My uncle visited from California in March to celebrate his 50th. He went to see my grandpa and got sick the day of his birthday dinner. The food at the place is unhealthy and greasy. The pancakes, salads, and various other meals are a grease bath. They ran out of ice cream for a couple of days back in the late fall of 2024. We moved my grandpa into Mattison Crossing to give my mom a break from his drama. It seems like since the move there has been more drama. $9000 a month for little to no care is what you get at this place. It is better to have a live-in full time because it costs less. Mattison Crossing can go burn in hell.

Horrible and neglectful experience! One additional hour in their care my 93 year old mom would…read morehave died. My mom had COVID pneumonia and was on a ventilator. After a week, she recovered and went to NJ Shore Center. Unfortunately, they are understaffed and don't care when patients could potentially have life threatening issues. My mom was complaining for 21 days her red button help bell was not working. I also complained multiple times. The response we got, my mom is not pushing the button and maybe she needs a psych evaluation. During the 21 days my mom waited up to an hour to get assistance to move her bowels and was in severe pain. She was constantly in wet diapers. I was too trusting and after 21 days, I personally tested the red help bell. Low and behold to their surprise the signal was being routed into another room. They acknowledged, called maintenance and didn't even apologize, heartless. The damage was done and I noticed my mom confused with hands uncontrollably shaking on the 23rd day. I demanded she go to Monmouth medical. They called ambulance and we waited 6 hours. Never again, I should have called 911 myself. As soon as my mom got into the hospital she had a seizure. She had urinary tract infection and went into septic shock. Her blood pressure dangerously low and went into ICU. Once again, she survived and after 7 days went to an acute hospital / rehab - Encompass. My mom went there barely able to stand and within 14 days she was speed walking and healthy. She is now back home and doing well. Miraculous recovery! I can't say enough of the care and the staff at Encompass, they are the BEST. Unfortunately, NJ Shore center was the worst and almost cost my loving and spirited mom her life.

My mom moved in a couple of weeks ago, and while she has had a difficult time adjusting, because of the kindness of the folks there and the superior qualities of the program, I believe she will eventually find happiness again. The food is excellent and plentiful, and the staff couldn't be nicer or more engaging. The programs are entertaining, which I say because mom has participated in most of them even though she has been sad about leaving her home. The security is great; they strike the perfect balance between safety and free, independent living. Making this change has been one of the hardest things my family has ever been through. We are lucky that we have found the people at Brandywine, from the women in management to the concierge to the dining hall staff, the chauffeur, the nurses, the care managers, every person on the staff, and the wonderful residents. I have high hopes that mom's next chapter will be filled with activity and good fellowship. For that I am grateful.

I was originally told that I should expect a time schedule of 6 to 10 months before I could expect my Prosthetic leg with a lengthy time learning to walk on it. I have been very fortunate to have one of the best Rehab teams anywhere. In the last 2 1/2 months I have gone from relying on my wheelchair to walking on my prosthetic leg with a walker to now learning to use a cane. The Rehab Department is made of a group of individuals all working as a team with their patients healing the number one goal. Lead by a wonderfully kind caring woman Megha the Department Head each person brings a unique array of talents to the table to ensure a complete understanding of the patient's needs and how to best accomplish the necessary goals needed to help them improve. Jeff, Joel, Neha, Lisa, Loukik and Carrie are one great team. They all work together without egos getting in the way. Each has a special talent to motivate and inspire their patients to move forward on a daily basis. These talented people are all responsible for my quick and amazing recovery. They took me from post-surgical doubts about ever walking again to walking right now with a walker and now learning to walk with a cane. They never once let me quit and their positive feedback made me try even harder. My progress is in large part to their dedication to their belief in their patients' abilities and their skills as rehab specialists. You will be very hard-pressed to find a more dedicated team or better group of people to help you go through Rehabilitation for any problem.

My mom broke her hip recently and after surgery she was sent to the Bartley Health care center. The…read moredoctors, the nurses, the aides, the physical therapists were all really, really great at their jobs, kind and helpful, exactly what you would hope for. The social workers on staff (or whom I refer to as the Harbingers of Death) are a whole different story. Some words I would use to describe the social workers I dealt with: Demeaning, condescending, argumentative, difficult, compassionless, insensitive, unfeeling, cruel and empathy-deficient. My experience with the social workers was pretty awful. My final conversation with them about my mother deteriorated into a yelling match with the social worker ending the conversation by hanging up on me. Of the multiple phone calls and voicemail messages my family collectively left the lead social worker... I do not believe she returned a single one. Finally on the day of my mothers discharge, my mother said we were supposed to have an exit meeting with the social worker to go over care plans. We waited and waited... Finally we went looking for her. When we asked her about the exit meeting... With a big plastic smile on her face she said there was no need for one and goodbye. So we took my mother home. I really hope that my experience with the social workers at Bartley was the exception and not the norm and that the patients and their families are getting the information they need to get through their difficult time. I also hope I never have to deal with those Bartley social workers again.
