I am beyond disappointed with my recent visit to Brimhall Eye. I've been a loyal patient for years and have even referred to family members here, but after today's experience, I will never return--and neither will my family. I arrived 10 minutes early for my scheduled appointment, only to be left waiting without any explanation. No one informed me of any emergencies or delays, leaving me completely in the dark. To make matters worse, I was charged for a follow-up visit, even though this appointment was specifically to address issues from a previous visit. Charging me for a follow-up is completely unreasonable, and it feels like the office is more focused on making money than on providing quality care. On top of that, I was overbilled for my first visit, and now I'm left wondering how the office will handle correcting this mistake. When I finally saw Edna, the technician who was assisting Dr. Dennis, her behavior was unprofessional and vindictive. Instead of addressing my concerns or explaining the delay, she told me I couldn't return for 10 days to address the issue because my insurance supposedly wouldn't allow it. After speaking to a manager at United Healthcare, I learned this was a complete lie. Edna misled both me and Dr. Dennis, who I'm sure trusted his technician. It seems Edna intentionally wanted me to wait, likely out of spite. She showed no regard for my situation or for arranging proper care. When I expressed my frustration, she rudely told me that if I wasn't happy, I could change my appointment and leave. I cannot believe the office employs someone who treats patients this way, and I highly doubt this is the first time she's acted in such a rude, condescending manner. This experience was the final straw. I've always recommended this office to others, but after today's treatment, I feel completely let down. The lack of communication, the rude and vindictive staff, and the overall disorganization make it clear that this office no longer values its patients. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will no longer recommend this office to anyone. This place has lost my trust, and I strongly advise others to find more professional, patient-centered practice. I cannot believe that someone like Edna represents this practice. read more

Should have written this long ago. Dr. B totally messed up my right eye after lens implants were completed. Left eye perfect. Right eye so far out of adjustment I couldn't use my right eye for ANYTHING within 20 feet. All out of focus. He couldn't find anything wrong, even though I couldn't actually see the chart with my right eye, and basically it was useless. Couldn't work in my kitchen, TV was blurry. All the while he's telling me there's nothing wromg on his end. So i went to two more eye Dr's. Both agreed something is wrong but couldn't tell what. I was referred by one of the Doc's to her Teaching Dr at Stein, UCLA. So we drove to LA. Good Dr. He was about to give up also, saying he doesn't know, but I literally begged him to help. So he got some special lenses out to check my eye. "I can't believe this" were his words. He said he's gonna use my case as a class study.. Basically Dr. B adjusted my eye "off the charts" so to speak and nobody thought to see if such a STUPID screw up happened. The Dr at UCLA told me to tell his ex student, that she should have caught it. Long story short, (You can ask Dr B) he ended up redoing my right eye abrasion.. My complaint?? He cost me more than a year of VERY BAD eyesight. He cost me a couple thousand in DR costs, travel, hotel, etc, cause of his MISTAKE. Then wanted to charge me for a follow up after the fix!!! NEVER DID HE OFFER TO HELP ME PAY FOR, OR FEEL GOOD, about what happened. He told me that due to what happened to me, his office was implementing new procedures. I guess I'd say I'm still pissed about my treatment after he screwed up my eye. THIS IS TRUTH. read more

Both my wife Alice and I are very impressed with the personal attention that Dr. Brimhall has given to us. When my wife had her eyes done she thought she was having problems the following weekend and when I called Dr. Brimhall he did not hesitate to tell me to bring her in on Sunday night to evaluate her. By the way this was Labor Day weekend and I was very impressed with that kind of attention to his patients. I recently thought I had a problem and called his office at 6:30 in the morning and they had me in their office by 7:10 AM to look at my eye which turned out to be A OK. Brimhall Eye was the best decision I have made in many years. All of the individuals are very professional when completing the many tests prior to my cataract surgery. I've known Dr. Brimhall for many years, but only recently got LASIK. I'm not less than one month post-ASA surgery and I have better than 20/20 vision. Super awesome. The two days following surgery were pretty rough, not going to lie. Pretty much sat in my blacked-out bedroom and listened to podcasts non-stop. But ever since then every day my vision has seemed to get better and better. Aside from the quality of the surgery, I really like their practice. Dr Brimhall got me in ASAP. I had to wait a short bit in the room, but he stopped in to update me about the delay. Then when he came in I had his full attention. I though my condition was much more severe and he assured me it was minor and would clear up without any damaging effects. He said it would take about 4 weeks to clear up. It actually took about 3 and a half months, but everything healed and everything is back to normal. I was pleased with his beside manor and how quickly he knew what was wrong with my eye. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Brimhall and Dr. Thomas, the two ophthalmologists in the clinic. I have seen both doctors and both are very professional, take time with you to present your issues, do whatever they need to know what is going on with your eye/s and fully explain to you your problem or reassure you that everything is fine, even if you have to ask to have it repeated. From the kind front office staff who got us in last minute, to the friendly nurses, and especially Dr. Thompson's compassionate and knowledgeable care, the entire experience was first-class.
