I have had bad vision since the 3rd grade, maybe even before, but that is when I got glasses. I am now 40 and had a -7.25 rx in each eye for contact lenses. Each year I went to my eye doctor and waited until my vision corrected and I waited 3 years... Dr. Brimhall said that was pretty conservative, but I just wanted to be sure my eyes were not changing. I researched doctors and located Dr. Brimhall and liked he is Board Certified, he is a Veteran and treated people in critical situations, and well he had great reviews. I waited 6 months to get in for an initial visit with his office. I went in and usually trust my instincts and got a good feel for him. He has a very kind demeanor and explained his state of the art new laser technology. He has invested a lot of money into his laser technology and it touches more eye points to correct vision and prevent after dryness. When asking why I wanted surgery, well... obviously because if there is a zombie apocalypse I am for sure toasted if I don't have my glasses or contacts. I mean just forget it. The Surgery went great and is actually done at their Durango location. Silly me, went to the Rainbow location with my driver on the day of and I was sort of stressed thinking I was going to miss my surgery due to the mix up. I did give feedback to their office as they do call a few days before to confirm the surgery and I let them know they should just confirm we have the correct location. The surgery is done with a anxiety medication and eye numbing medication. Your eyes are open through the entire thing, but I did not feel a thing! It all went very quick. As they said, I was able to drive the next day, but night driving was a bit out of the question. It took a few weeks for me to be able to drive at night and even almost a week for my eyes to adjust to a computer. I could still see, but it was blurry. I still occasionally get a bit of cloudy vision due to eye dryness, but carry eye drops with me and it solves the issue. I am only about a month a half out from surgery, so still healing. Other than the occasional healing issues, I see wonderful. Overall, I am very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Dr. Brimhall, his entire staff and his super laser to anyone that qualifies for such treatment. I found it super affordable considering how much I spend yearly on contacts and replacement glasses anyways and feel much more free. read more

UPDATE TO BRIMHALL EYE RESPONSE: Sometimes, it's better not to respond to a negative review if you're going to use a "canned" response and not address the real issue(s) that the author posed. I had an appointment with Brimhall Eye Center and Dr. Thompson back on March 3, 2020, just at the start of the pandemic. I thoroughly researched ophthalmologists before deciding on Brimhall Eye Center, which had stellar reviews. I waited for weeks (as you usually do in Las Vegas) for my appointment. I had an issue with previous cataract surgery at Wellish Vision Institute (see my review) and needed a second opinion of the damage inflicted by Dr. Kent Wellish. The wait was long, the room was hot and overcrowded, and the front desk receptionists, there were two, were unpleasant and unfriendly. I met with Dr. Thompson (after a 45-minute wait), and he prescribed some eye drops and told me to come back for a follow-up visit. When I returned after the pandemic had started, the waiting room was again packed, and people were not wearing masks or keeping their distance. So, after about 40-minutes of waiting, I went to the front and told the receptionist to please reschedule. She agreed to call me, and I waited, and I waited, and I waited, but never a call. When I finally called, the front desk girl said due to the pandemic, the office was closed, and they would get in touch when it re-opened. It's now been eight months (and they've been open for many months), and I've never received a call back for my follow-up appointment. Like most medical services in Las Vegas, Brimhall Eye Care patients are left to fend for themselves. How many times do I have to call or told I'll get a call before one happens? I wonder about all the positive reviews of Brimhall Eye Care if this is the kind of service a patient receives? read more

Dr. Brimhall has an opener... "100% integrity." It is framed in an exam room in the centennial hills location. But it's not an empty promise, he really does embody his mantra. Even though he wasn't able to blast my floaters, I really appreciated that he spent almost 30 minutes trying. Not only he tried, but he also refunded my copay when he wasn't able to help me. I went to the Rainbow location for my next day follow-up after cataract surgery. First of all, prior to the surgery I was apprehensive about driving the next day, less than 24 hours after the procedure. I had no issues at all and was able to drive without wearing glasses. My appointment was for 1:15 and I was in the exam room by 1:20! A quick eye chart test, some drops to facilitate viewing my eye and I happily left with a clean bill of eye health (for that eye) and clarification of my aftercare tasks.
