I have been going to Shepherd Eye Center for over 10 years. My last yearly visit Monday July 21st 2025 with Doctor Reddy went well. In the late PM I had an onset of double vision. My left eye was seen things at a higher level than my right eye, while driving, I had to close my left eye so I would not see 2 different lanes, peoples faces on TV had 4 eyes, 2 noses, 2 mouths. Tuesday 8 AM, I called 702-731-2088 and explained my double vision to the operator and requested 5 minutes of doctor's Reddy's time over the phone. She replied she would send the message and that Doctor Reddy would call me back. I spoke to the operator 3 times between Tuesday and Thursday reiterating my request and hoping for a call Friday. Quite the unfortunate experience. You'll feel like merchandise on an assembly line. After two months of pre-op time and multiple phone conversations w staff to get my mom ready for cataract sx, found out canceled at time of surgery and the response from office manager was "it is what it is" for being out of network. The Dr was wonderful but they leave little time for them to spend w patient. My mom lost all faith in them and when they made us wait for an hour to sign that we would pay out of pocket, the person who had her sign the electronic pad wouldn't give us a copy of what she signed! Ppl who take the calls are helpful but the whole production leaves much to be desired professionally and as a medical establishment. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you prefer to be treated as a person and not a ticket! read more

The Drs I saw were all at Pecos McLeod location except for Dr. Rovit. To begin, prior to cataract surgery did not have problems except for the need for readers. To lay out step by step would take an entire page do I'll condense. Montgomery is the Dr who did the surgery who I kept going back to see until he retired. I had problems with both eyes including double vision. He didn't know why, said maybe I had a stroke and sent me for an MRI which was negative. This was followed up with my eye muscles not seeming to be even so sent me to Dr Rovit an eye muscles specialist at Shepherd. He has me go for blood work to rule out certain things came back negative. He didn't address the muscles or anything else and sent me home . Thereafter I saw few other doctors there who aside from standard tests did nothing except Rx for eye drops not helping and a plug in each eye to keep fluid in my eyes which doesn't work. I went back every month except for April bc I had spine surgery. I called to ask if there was a Dr there who was more knowledgeable than the rest and that led me to Dr Taylor who I just saw, who maybe gave me 15 minutes, who refused to remove the plugs and with the knowledge that the blood work was negative referred me to someone else outside of Shepherd and left the room I agree with a review written by a woman on this site where she mentioned no one Dr there especially the surgeon took responsibility for their work or listened to and addressed my complaints. This is not a hang nail it is eye sight and mine has been compromised. Plus googling cataract surgery and risks I read the cornea could be damaged if not careful. The Drs at Shepherd started telling me there was a problem with my cornea which was never discussed with me prior to the surgery. I am 76 and find the activities I'd like to participate in circumvented bc I'm dizzy at times and can't see well. Shame on this place. read more

I love the Doctor but it took forever to get my glasses I ordered my progressive glasses at the end of January 2weeks later mid February got the text to pick up my glasses but when it comes to near sight I couldn't see it so it was return back to lab then another 2weeks I get glasses back beginning of march now nothing changed they won't send it back to lab so I made appointment ended up seeing different doc he tells me something wrong with prescription sent me back to optical then optical tells me to wear it for a week cause I need to get used to it I said fine then made an appointment this time made sure it was with my regular Dr then I kept wearing it for a week then saw the Dr He adjusted prescription by this time it was 3week of march with new prescription they sent glasses back I asked if they could put a rush on it since it was going on since Jan they kept telling me " we not the only client" I'm a client too who has been patiently waiting since January. It was frustrating to say the least no one return calls or answers then tell you I just need to get used to them. they need to be more considerate & courteous to customers especially when customer has been patience for months it's April now but finally got it done correctly & I do love my glasses now that I can properly see but optical customer service can use some improvement read more

Been going to location on McLeod. Dr has addressed macular degeneration by saying it is age. I also have ocular migraines which have been blown off as well and now my left eye getting much worse. I have had retina issues and surgeries in the past at NV Retuna Center so am quite concerned. I tried getting appts for my husband and I at another location in Henderson and after 3 phone calls on hold saying they would call me back, I never got a call back. Very poor customer service. Called another eye doctor and actually spoke with someone and got appointments with no hassle. Will not refer anyone to Shepherd and my husband has been going there for 20 years. read more

Have to agree with everyone else. The wait is crazy. Wouldn't be so bad if the lobby at the Rampart location didn't smell so terrible. The furniture smells like butt. Hot sweaty butt. Long waits. Disjointed testing; multiple stations you wait between. Some doctors so busy you can't see them for trouble follow up's. Doesn't accept accountability to obviate responsibility even if only care is sought. Prescriptions are accurate in my experience. Following this review my next appointment went much faster, even with the multiple stations for evaluation & testing. Note: before any surgery take good clear pictures before so if necessary you can prove a significant difference following your procedure; no differing of opinions between doctor and patient. read more

My husband seems happy with his cataract surgery and doctor. So that part was good. I had to take him to his appointments and surgery and to me it is like a cattle call. Medicare is obviously their best friend and the room was full of elderly patients. People are shuffled around and it is obvious that they have no consideration for people's time, especially for people who have to take off work to drive someone to an appointment. It just put me off. I will definitely be looking for a different place if I require cataract surgery. read more

My aunt had a day after surgery follow up. There are 2 locations within 20 minutes of her home. We live an hour from the post road locstion. With traffic it was one and a half hours just to get there. We learned our calls to move to a closer location were pointless as we were told calls go to call center and it's about the physician not the patient. So a 77 year old woman with travel anxiety isn't important. She's money. Nothing more. Her blood pressure flying due to the drive, her fears, she's not as important as the business model I will never use shepherd. read more

I went to Shepherd Eye Center upon my optometrist's suggestion. I dealt with two people first . .eye exam and then paperwork . . and then I saw the specialist. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The specialist examined my eyes and said my eyes looked great and he did not see any evidence of any eye disease . . just some scar tissue behind one of my eyes, which he wasn't concerned about. So I sure felt a whole lot better when I left there . . .nothing to worry about. read more

The most horrible clinic I've ever visited. The older Filipino woman with short blank hair, who is among the personnel, treated me rudely and continued to do so even after I asked her nicely to stop harassing me, and the other staff didn't do anything about it to protect me from this horrible woman. You are advised to arrive 15-30 minutes in advance, but there is frequently a minimum 3-and-a-half-hour wait when you arrive. I asked them to transfer my medical record to Clear Vision Eye Center after my third visit. If I can give a ZERO star, I'll be more than happy to do so! read more

Called at least 8 times. No one can get thru to surgery scheduling. Finally scheduled my mom for surgery, told me 4 different times. Had to drive down there in person to get a time for surgery. Told me 1145 from original time of 9 am (surgery center told us 1:45). Showed up for surgery and was told surgery was 12:45. Now my mom can't have surgery because it too late and I have to be back at work. Most disorganized and uncaring people I have ever met. Horrible just horrible. I don't normally leave reviews especially negative ones but this was a disaster. Checking in there was a very unhappy patient being told his appointment was cancelled. This is the second time this happened to him. After a few minutes I received the same information and after hearing the front desk staff get yelled at I couldn't do the same. Apparently this happens all the time. And seven others today. Doctors seem to cancel regularly and do not have concern for patience time or the fact they took off of work. The front desk staff is kind and warm- they and patients deserve better! read more

TLDR: Dr. Gaster himself is great, but not worth two hours and dealing with other unprofessional staff on site (or sight? HA!) to get to him. I was referred here for an ongoing eye issue. Came at appointment time, was checked in 10 min later, insurance reviewed 10 minutes later, first eye exam half an hour later (notice a pattern?), then passed on to another tech (more below) who took his time, before finally seeing the doctor, who was personable and ultimately gave me the answers I came for. He also offered to update my prescription. But I was here for literally two hours. That's crazy. The second tech (who dilated my eyes) I saw marred my entire visit. I couldn't give you a name because he never introduced himself and wasn't wearing a name tag. He had no customer service skills whatsoever, was brusque and irritable from the moment he entered the room, and basically said that my condition was due to not cleaning my contact lenses- despite the fact that I've worn them nearly 20 years and have only had issues in the past month, that persisted even with a fresh pair. I nearly just said "screw this" and walked out, that's how frustrating and condescending he was. Thankfully I saw the doctor next, who diagnosed me with a legitimate condition. Very frustrating experience with Shepard Eye Center. I selected them for my wife's Lasik procedure because of the experience of their doctors, but the scheduling department and the pre/post op care is absolutely terrible. My wife's doctor was Dr. Taylor, but the location for the surgery was at another business, New Eyes. Let's start with the scheduling department. The surgery was supposed to be in February, but my wife forgot the date, so we called Shepard to ask when the date was. Well the appointment scheduling department is different than the surgery scheduling department, and we had to get transferred to the surgery scheduling department each time. And each time it went straight to voicemail. We left multiple voicemails and got zero responses back for WEEKS. At this point we decided to push out the surgery to March, second guessing our decision, but ultimately deciding to move forward. We called to pay, and that was another 3 hour ordeal with transfers to different departments. Our kid ended up in the ER a week before surgery, so we pushed it back a third time to April. And here we are today. My wife just finished her surgery, we're driving home and she's still a little loopy from the Valium when she mentioned that the doctor said that she should take a pill to help with the recovery. I asked for any details and she couldn't recall anything else. She wasn't discharged with any paperwork or prescription either. So I call Shepard and the operator had no idea who Dr. Taylor was and insisted that I call New Eyes. I called New Eyes and they said that Dr. Taylor just uses their facilities and that I need to call Shepard. I call Shepard back and they transfer me to the technician which went straight to voice mail. If we could do it over again I would not have chosen Shepard and I would not recommend them to anyone until their customer service changes. Edit: It took over a month and a half for my wife to start being able to see again. When I had Lasik it took a day or two. 100% recommend staying away from these guys! read more

This office has great customer service, efficient and excellent doctors that explain everything to you concerning your vision and what need to be done to have healthy eyesight. I love Dr. Tushina Reddy but It is ridiculous how long one has to wait. My husbands appt, was at 12:50. He did not see the Dr. for 3 hours past his appt time. That is terrible, as my husband lives in a memory care facility ,is in a wheel chair and has to be driven there in the facility's bus. They had to go back as they couldn't wait there that long. Their time is just as valuable as the eye centers is and ours as well. Why do they have to schedule so many people at the same time?????? read more

This rating is only for the office and not the providers. I want to begin with, Dr.Alder is just the best and highly recommend him! Very qualified doctors in the practice. The office itself is not patient centric. You are moved from waiting room to waiting room before you see a doctor and you need to plan 2 hours for a visit -the time with the provider was a small portion of that overall visit(10-15min) We were not called back to schedule appointments on multiple occasions. The practice would benefit from someone coming in to take a look at their business practices because they are obviously very busy and the current process's are not working. Once you get through all the office minutia, the clinical staff are friendly and good but obviously too busy! read more

My appointment was for 700 am and I'm not an early riser however I have issues that need resolved so I went. After giving my info when I got there I sat there another 20 minutes until this blob at the desk called me up and told me they don't take my insurance! I was pissed. Dr Taylor was nice when I met him but they lost my business when it came to scheduling. I was originally scheduled for a date a month out but the girl at the front seemed really confused about scheduling my follow up date. This was even after I told her what date the Dr told me it would be on. After a few weeks they still hadn't scheduled my follow up. After calling back I found out that they had even changed my surgery date without asking or telling me. It was very difficult getting a hold of someone who could even figure out what was going on and took me several weeks of repeatedly calling to find out. read more

When you hear the Shepherd what comes to mind? For me I think of the loyalty of a German Shepherd, a biblical figure that helps guide the lost and Shepherd Eye Center. Because without clear vision a German Shepherd cant protect and a shepherd of the lost cant guide us away from danger. Or maybe your a fan of collegiate sports. So more than likely a fan of the SEC. Why wouldn't you be? Its loaded with winners. So wheher your lost or just want to be a winner like the SEC look up with those new glasses you just instinctively picked up from Sheperd Eye Center and run in for the game winning touchdown. Feels good to be a winner. To those at Shepherd Eye Center I know that was a little messy but I think you get the idea. Superbowl just around the corner so every sports fan in the world will be watching and I bet my last dollar which I don't even have that the SEC is probably the most watched conference in sports. Had my exam about a month ago. Before seeing the doctor...I was sent to someone to do a "refraction" at a cost of $50 out of pocket!! I declined and said I'd do it next year. Then, I saw the doctor that did a full exam with dilation of pupils...at which time I was told all was well and my vision hadn't changed from the previous year's exam. Now, I want to get new prescription glasses before Dec. 31st so I called and asked for a prescription for the glasses. I spoke with Jasmine and she's saying I can't get it because I didn't do the "refraction" which cost $50 out of pocket. I told her the doctor said my vision was the same and if they could give me a copy of the previous exam's prescription. She said she couldn't because it's over a year!! So, in summary, unless you pay $50 for the refraction...you can't get a prescription...this is pure GREED!! Last year they charged me $1300 for two pairs of prescription glasses because my insurance benefit pays $300 and they also gave a $1000 Visa card to use for vision, hearing, or dental!! They are such a rip off!! I'm waiting to hear from the Dr. and hoping he'll give me the prescription!! read more

Even though the process there takes 2-3 hours at your eye exams I was extremely impressed with Dr. Reedey. She is a true professional and my cataract surgeries were precision. Best thing I have done in years. Simple and my vision has improved 1000 percent. The eye surgery center is a bit of an assembly line but caring, efficient, and like a fine tuned watch. I made an appointment for extreme dry eyes with filament growths on my cornea. I basically needed to get a new prescription for blood serum tear eye drops. The doc told me that someone would call me about getting the prescription. It's been over 3 days and no call and if you call them no one answers or returns your call. Don't trust your vision to Shepherd because one could go blind before you get any help. Will find another doctor elsewhere. read more

Actually, they deserve Zero star. My ophthalmologist referred me to Dr Taylor for removal of a cataract out of my right eye. I waited in the waiting room for 2 hours and 22 minutes just for the "doctor" to tell me that I have cataract in my right eye and not in my left eye - which I already knew from my ophthalmologist who also updated him before my appointment- and just for the "doctor" to tell me he could not do the cataract surgery since it's complicated.
