I have been going to Shepherd Eye Center for over 10 years. My last yearly visit Monday July 21st 2025 with Doctor Reddy went well. In the late PM I had an onset of double vision. My left eye was seen things at a higher level than my right eye, while driving, I had to close my left eye so I would not see 2 different lanes, peoples faces on TV had 4 eyes, 2 noses, 2 mouths. Tuesday 8 AM, I called 702-731-2088 and explained my double vision to the operator and requested 5 minutes of doctor's Reddy's time over the phone. She replied she would send the message and that Doctor Reddy would call me back. I spoke to the operator 3 times between Tuesday and Thursday reiterating my request and hoping for a call Friday. I never got a call. I don't understand. My rating is for Monday's visit, not for the rest. JPL

You know this is awful when they have to warn you that you'll be here forever for no reason other than their lack of organization.

The only way to find the front door is through the parking garage elevator. Even with GPS, it's easy to get turned around because there is more then one garage entrance. When you do find it in the garage the wall will say "Center for Sight," so keep an eye out for that. I included a photo in my review to assist you finding it. This office is extremely busy but the staff keeps things running smoothly and organized. The appointment process involves several different exams, and you'll move through multiple waiting areas, so you're never sitting in one spot too long. My entire visit took about 2-3 hours, which is fair considering the amount of testing they do. The staff members were efficient and friendly. The last person you'll see is the doctor, who goes over your results and answers any questions you have before you leave. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of how difficult it is to find the entrance, even with the directions they provide. They mentioned the office will be moving to a new location next year, which should make things easier. Tivoli Village itself is a beautiful shopping center. It looks like a little European village with nice restaurants and shops so all in all it's a pleasant place to visit.

For years, I lived with a dark, raised area under my left eye that looked almost like a permanent black eye. I had no idea what it was or what could be done about it. During my very first visit, Dr. Leibowitz immediately identified it as a hemangioma and explained that these are typically non‑threatening. His confidence and clarity put me at ease right away. What I thought I would have to live with forever was quickly diagnosed, and Dr. Leibowitz told me he could remove it. His surgery coordinator was equally impressive--calling to check in, reviewing pre‑surgery instructions, and reminding me when to stop certain medications. Their professionalism and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and stress‑free. The surgery itself--a left eye orbital exploration--was flawless. I had the procedure in the morning and was home that afternoon with clear aftercare instructions. At my one‑week follow‑up, Dr. Leibowitz told me everything looked great and cleared me to return to my normal activities. Today, three weeks later, you can't even tell I ever had surgery. The result is truly remarkable. Looking back, I almost wish I had done this sooner, but I'm grateful I waited for the right surgeon. Dr. Leibowitz is an exceptional physician whose skill, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. I'm deeply thankful to have had him as my surgeon.

Which means you actually get patient care and you aren't a number to be pushed through (think NV Eye Surgery Dr Debry and Retina Consultants of Nevada). I started going to Meadows Eye physicians about 2 years ago after another local doctor screwed me up pretty bad. Thank GOD I was told about this group. I started seeing Doctor Kevin Firl for a double vision issue caused and created by another local doctor/surgeon about 2 years ago. Dr Firl has been nothing short of amazing, as has their other glaucoma locations in town for a separate eye issue I have had since teen years. Dr Firl initially outfitted me with a prismatic sticker to put on my eye glass and sunglasses lens to correct a severe double vision case I had. It was game changing, however a bit handcuffing since, if you misplaced your glasses, and who hasn't done that, you tend to panic as you no longer can see properly. Dr Firl did a strabismus surgery on me a week ago, and this far the result has been nothing short of amazing. No more sticker on my lens, no more consistent double vision, no more frustration. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made to leave private equity farmed health care and to have joined Meadows Eye Care as a patient. Dr Firl truly exceeded my expectations.

Subject: Formal Complaint - Predatory Billing Practices and Unauthorized Appointment Scheduling…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this formal complaint against DAVID VANDER VELDT's OFFICE Meadows Eye regarding a $25.00 "no-show" fee resulting from an appointment I never authorized or requested. I believe this company is engaging in a predatory "auto-scheduling" scheme designed to generate fraudulent revenue from unsuspecting patients. Statement of Facts Over one year ago, I visited Meadows Eye for an eye examination. Unknown to me at the time, the office--without my consent or signature--automatically scheduled a follow-up appointment in their system for exactly one year later. I was never consulted about this date, I never agreed to it and had no idea and appointment had been created FOR ONE YEAR LATER. One year later, I received a bill for a "missed appointment" that I never made. Furthermore, the office has sent a notice threatening to report this "debt" to the credit bureaus if I do not pay. Nature of the Dispute This is not a simple clerical error; it is a systemic scam. By unilaterally placing patients on their calendar without permission and then charging a fee when the patient inevitably "misses" the unknown appointment, DAVID VANDER VELDT's OFFICE Meadows Eye is effectively extorting money under the threat of damaging credit scores. Charging for a service (or the absence of one) based on a contract or appointment that the consumer never entered into is a deceptive business practice. Desired Resolution I am asking for the following actions from DAVID VANDER VELDT's OFFICE Meadows Eye: Immediate Voidance of the Debt: The $25.00 fee must be removed from their books entirely. Written Confirmation: A receipt showing a zero ($0.00) balance must be mailed to my address: Direct Contact: I require a phone call from the Billing Department (PO Box 80450, Las Vegas, NV 89180) confirming that this charge has been retracted and will not be reported to any credit agencies. Cease and Desist: I demand that DAVID VANDER VELDT's OFFICE they stop the practice of unauthorized auto-scheduling for my account moving forward. Attached, please find a copy of the fraudulent bill and the credit threat notice. I look forward to your prompt assistance in resolving this matter and holding this business accountable.

The entire visit with the doctor lasted less than five minutes. I was then sent for blood work. Even though I had fasted beforehand just in case, I was told the specific test had to be completed before a certain time, so I had to schedule another appointment. When I returned for my second appointment after making another 30-minute drive, I was informed that the phlebotomist wasn't there, so I couldn't even have my blood drawn. After two disappointing visits, I decided not to return to this office. To make matters worse, I later received a bill for an additional $73. I spent over six months trying to get someone to explain why I owed more money after already paying my copay. I called weekly, left countless messages, and never received a return call. Because no one would respond, the balance was eventually sent to collections. I paid the balance just to deal with the collections issue, then disputed the charge with my bank because even they agreed the situation seemed unusual. Despite that, I am still being billed for the same charge. Once again, I spent months trying to get answers with no response. When I finally reached someone, I was essentially told that if I didn't pay, it would simply be sent to collections again. No one could actually explain why I owed the money. I no longer have the insurance I had at the time of my visit, and I was also told the doctor I originally saw doesn't even work there anymore. The lack of communication and patient care at this office is unacceptable. Ignoring patients for months while continuing to bill them and threaten collections is not how a medical practice should operate. If they put even half as much effort into helping their patients as they do collecting money, this situation could have been resolved long ago. I will never return and would not recommend this office to anyone looking for a practice that values communication, professionalism, or patient care.

When I called, I was met with an automated message, standard these days, but there were no options for new patients or to reach medical staff. I stayed on the line without pressing any keys, and a human did eventually answer. They were polite, soft-spoken, and informed me that the clinic operates on a membership model. Digging into the site later, I found that membership runs around $3,200 per year. What's not clearly explained is how this integrates with existing insurance. There's no detail on whether labs, prescriptions, or procedures are billed separately or offset at all. Nothing against the clinic itself, but after watching another practice in town fall apart post-buyout, I'm not eager to throw more money into the healthcare black hole, especially on top of already sky-high insurance premiums. Las Vegas isn't exactly budget-friendly, and this setup seems designed more for the west side crowd with disposable income than for the average patient just trying to get solid care without financial acrobatics.
