Although it's becoming a rarity, it's a pleasure meeting people who love their jobs and truly appreciate customer service. While pressed for time seeking to secure a new set of SCUBA fins it became apparent there were none to be had within 100 miles (including ordering them on Amazon ... which I do my best to not use when a "brick & mortar" location is nearby). Either way I'm grateful that another dive shop and my dive master referred me to "Oren and Baja Diving & Watersports." Although I was pleased hearing he had them in stock, I was blown away by the customer service Oren and his shop provided! In the end they are great people that I look forward to working with in the future and trust you too will enjoy this terrific company.

The owner Oren, is very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable about the product and diving. He makes you feel important and asks the right questions to find out what your real needs are before recommending an item for you. This is one of the very few shop where you can try freediving wetsuits on, while others making a big deal out of it and guess your size. If you are spearfisherman, you find all the goodies you need here from the beginner level to the more experienced underwater hunter, BDW has all you need and the excellent customer service. This is also one of the only places in San Diego where you find gear from the french company Beuchat, amazingly warm wetsuits and many other fantastic items. He also carries gear from OMS, DUI, Gannet and more. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. I for sure will be back for more!

Everything about the trip was perfectly coordinated. The owner called ahead of time to make sure I was all set for my trip to San Diego. Upon arriving at the dock, we were warmly greeted and handed a cold beer. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was great. The beer was cold and plentiful. We saw tons of Great White Sharks. One day we had eight circling the boat at the same time! The crew who run this charter are professionals. I felt safe the entire time and I had a blast. Our Divemasters were Will and Frank, Crew Cameron, Tias, and Russ, and last but not least we had Shea and Laura making delicious food in the galley. Horizon has everything you could possibly need from comfy bunks to a wonderful staff and a dryer right onboard. Everyone was extremely attentive and friendly which was helpful for a newbie. I felt completely at ease throughout the trip, especially getting in and out of the water. Nitrox fills were anywhere from 29-31% and they even filled my tank for whatever my next dive may be! Some of my favorite dive sites on the trip were Inside Boiler, The Arch, Petter's Wall and Twin Peaks. I'll upload a few photos, as well. Thank you so much for an awesome trip, Horizon Charters! Looking forward to my next trip with you (hopefully soon!)

10/10!!!! Wish we could have stayed all day. Please read for detailed description/breakdown…read more I recommend getting there 30ish min early as you need to fill out a waiver/try on wetsuit. Check In: My family (5 of us) booked a snorkeling appt for 10:30AM. We got there at 9:55, walked inside and met our guide, Bryan, then filled out waivers. Next we were fitted for our wetsuits and fins, got changed and sat in the back patio for a safety briefing / run through. Bryan described in depth all of the safety precautions, hand signals to use if we needed help, what to do if our goggles fogged up, the fish we would see, where exactly we would explore, and even the temperament of the sea lions!! Next we packed our belongings in lockers that they provide and headed to the van. Drive: It was a quick 15 min drive to the beach, Bryan was happy to answer any other questions we had and shared his experience with diving and spearfishing. Once we got there we unloaded and went straight to the beach. ADVENTURE: We walked down the stairs to the sand, and found a spot to get our fins on. Our guide gave us a demonstration on how to swim with the fins, and most importantly how to walk in them. We got out goggles/snorkel on and headed to the water. Bryan had us practice breathing with the snorkel on with our face in the water, then made sure everyone was good to go before we swam out. SNORKEL: Immediately as we swam out it was beautiful, there were a bunch of sea pups swimming around us and a vast amount of greenery underwater. Towards the shore we saw some Garibaldi and sea lions. Our guide was very attentive in making sure everyone was doing ok and that we implemented our buddy system. He led us a bit further out and we saw stingrays!!!! We spent time exploring our surroundings, then went to head towards the cave. However, once we got there the tide switched... our guide went to scope out the caves and made a really smart decision to keep us out of there. Waves were crashing into the rocks about 3-4 feet and the tide was strong. Bryan did a great job in making us feel safe, we turned back around and headed towards the shore. We made a stop in this open cove area where all the sea lions were sun bathing. We explored more underwater and saw bass and sea lions swimming. On our way back to the shore we saw a school of fish. Once we got back to the shore we took off our fins and packed up. ******GOOD CALL on our guide for having us head in, the lifeguards had just begun to shutdown swimming as the tide was getting out of control.****** Return: As soon as we got there our guide showed us where to put our suits, and helped us to the shower area where we rinsed off. They thanked us for coming and asked us our favorite part of the trip and for any feedback. We plan on coming back again soon, it was incredibly peaceful and a great adventure.

I did everything prescribed to me, but nine months after my break, I was experiencing pain in both feet. Although I got prescribed inserts, I still suffered from chronic foot pain for almost 4 years. It was something I began to accept, at only age 40. Every physical therapist told me my feet needed a big, structured sneaker. I was told I could only be "fixed" if I got reconstructive surgery on my feet. Never go barefoot, they said; my feet needed all the padding and structure they could get. Grace approached my condition in a completely different way. She deeply massaged my feet and lower legs, and prescribed lots of home foot care, including sand walks, stretching, and epsom salt scrubs. I followed her recommendations completely. She healed and then helped me strengthen my feet, instead of treating them as weak. This past summer, for the first time in almost 4 years, I was able to walk barefoot all summer, and go to bed at the end of the day without burning feet. This was life changing for me. I cannot recommend Grace enough. Her approach to injury and recovery is like nothing else I've experienced. Stop accepting chronic pain and look for an alternative approach to your condition. Before you have surgery, visit Grace. I cherish my visits with her and leave feeling relaxed, hopeful, and stronger, every time.
