My son and I are novice fisherman taking a trip to Northern Tier with our scout troop to fish the boundary waters on the Minnesota / Canada border for Bass and Walleye for a week. Went into the store with my son and asked for a lot of basic advice on what the minimum setup was to have success since we are limited on what gear we can bring. The staff was really helpful going over basic lures and how they are supposed to be rigged with some examples from behind the counter. I did not get the impression they were trying to oversell or sell stuff we did not need. If they were not sure about an answer (for example the first guy we talked with was more familiar with salt vs. freshwater fishing) he did not try to fake an answer and directed me to other staff who were more knowledgable. So if you are beginning or a novice this tackle shop is a good stop to get you setup vs. buying random stuff off amazon. I'll be recommending the place to the rest of my 6 man crew as well as other crews from my troop that will be going to Northern tier later in the year. My one piece of advice for the staff is to be more proactive in engaging customers to see if they have questions. I know it can be a balance between giving customer space and hovering over them like a car salesman but in general us beginner / novice fisherman can get easily overwhelmed with the different assortments of tackle and appreciate the advice. If you are a customer note the store vibe is more on the side of letting you browse freely and engaging only if you ask for help.

There's still a decent selection in stock, and things can be ordered for you if needed. The guys working are so knowledgeable and will definitely take care of you. Initially, I worked with Chandler who provided insight into the changes I should make to my current weapon to comply with all regulations. After parts arrived, Jared was able to explain the intricacies of CA laws regarding "AR type" rifles. Between the two of them, their knowledge of firearms and CA regulations allowed me to make purchasing decisions that ensured that my rifle met all legal requirements in CA. If you have any questions about legality of specific rifles or types of rifles (black powder vs standard cartridges), I would recommend a stop by Discount Guns on a weekday when they're not busy. Just had a great trip with Sam and Jonathan on board the Huntress for a full day trip. We were a…read moremixed group from somewhat experienced to never fishing before and they did a great job teaching and getting everyone involved. Both Sam and his deckhand Jonathan were great guys and made the trip memorable. The boat was great and more than spacious enough for the 6 of us. While we were only able to manage 1 Tuna it wasn't because of Sam he was glued to binoculars all day and had us on top of the blue fin several different times that day, but they just weren't biting. You could tell that they both tried their best and truly wanted to get us on the fish. I'm already starting to plan another trip later this season and will be contacting Sam soon.

He would move the boat to find the best fishing spots every time we drifted, and even butchered the fishes we caught to take home at the end of the day. If you're interested in catching a specific type of fish, I recommend calling in advance to see what season we're in. I went fishing in January which is rock cod season. We caught a total of 32 fish in our group of 3 within 5 hours! Captain Sam also offered tips on how to prepare the fish we caught; we made some amazing fish tacos. I believe tuna season runs from March into the summer. The boat was immaculately clean and has a bathroom and fridge to store meals and snacks. Highly recommend booking an off shore fishing trip with Brink, it was a great time with great company!

DONT COME HERE!!…read more These guys are scammers I went to purchase ammo and my information wasn't adding up because I didn't include APT for my apartment number under my firearms registration so they charged me for the background check which was $5 no big deal but then they guy working told me there was a $10 min fee so I asked if he could just charge me twice so I can just pay the $10 and he said no that I have to buy something and the cheapest thing they had there was a bar of soap for $10 so not only did I not get ammo but they had me walking out spending $15 on some soap don't shop here.

I sent 5 photos; after Brandon reviewed the pictures, he told me he would remove it at no charge. Once his employees came to my property, they said, it's in worse shape than we thought, we need to charge you to remove it. I called Brandon and told him that it didn't feel good to have this "switch" at the last minute and asked him why he did NOT just tell me that his guys would assess the pool table once they arrived and IF it was in poor condition, then I would have to pay for removal? Total waste of our time with no effort to remedy the situation. We felt like we were involved in a scam ("bait and switch"). Do not trust this business.
