He was happy to have me out there as he worked and explained everything he did. What he did not do: upsell / recommend a new system install. Though he did explain that our 22 year old unit was likely reaching the end of its service life. These guys are very straight shooters in an industry with some sketchy common practices. Price for analysis of both systems and the repair of 1 unit was very reasonable.

And you know what he said y'all? He said once every Summer just get your hose, put it on jet, and spray the vents out. That's it. We were ready to pay him to come out and clean our AC unit and Simon, said we didn't need to. I mean, who does that nowadays?! Full disclosure: I had another furnace company come out and check my furnace. This company not only told me my motor was broken (BS! ), and also would cost $950 to fix. They also greatly emphasized replacing the whole system for $12k. I have no doubt this company would also charge a grip to come out and clean our AC unit. So, my brothers and sisters, please DO NOT call ANY, I repeat ANY other furnace repair but Marasigan. It is a small local, family-owned business that unmistakenly takes great pride, holds the utmost integrity in their work, and most importantly, is completely honest with their customers. They were late and then told me they couldn't get there until Monday, 5 days away. Insisting this needs taken care and can't wait. They finally showed up. First they told me I needed to expand my ductwork, that the unit was too much for the current set up. I said, you mean the unit you guys sold us? That was going to be around $17 grand. After getting past that nonsense he tells me it was going to cost $3800, minimum. Told monarch I was getting a second opinion, that's way too much money for a new unit. Called Lara's, they came the next morning and for $890 I had my ac back. Most of that was Freon. Both workers were very polite and had everything fixed and tidy in about an hour.
