When I called to reschedule the office let me know the owner was out running around to pick up the slack and could come preform the service. The owner was great! Super simple fix of my AC unit. He did let me know my unit was past it's prime and would need to be replaced soon but showed me a couple things I could do to prolong its life. I TRIED for weeks to deal with my home warranty company re a furnace failure that left me without heat since mid-Nov. After a dear friend recommended North Bay Air Systems, I called and they immediately scheduled an appt with Ron. He provided a written estimate the same day as the appt. I also asked for and received an estimate to have a dryer vent installed. Once I ACCEPTED both estimates, I was scheduled for the following day (HOW LUCKY WAS I ???). It's been over 5 years since I had North Bay Air Systems install a new Trane AC/Heating system in my home, but every time I have to clean the filter, I think bad things about them. Basically, I spent extra money for something I didn't get. It started out fine, and the first rep was very friendly and informative. We decided on a variable-speed system with high efficiency filters at two intakes, to provide good air cleaning to help keep the dust down in the house. But then, when the people came to do the installation, they acted like the first rep was an idiot, and they wanted to change things at the last minute, such as putting the new intake close to the 2nd intake. This would have made their job easier in installing ducts, but didn't sound like the best idea overall. The installed a new thermostat, but took away my existing almost new, expensive electronic thermostat without saying anything, and refused to return it, saying they threw it away. Then, I found out that one of the filters they installed was not at all what I paid for, but was the type you see in a stove exhaust fan, made of metal. A tech that came out later for a maintenance call mentioned that it was no good, and said he would talk to them about it, but I never heard back from them (it's been a few years now, so I don't think they will be calling). They haven't even called for any more maintenance, so I guess they avoid problems rather than solving them. Someone who came out to replace some pipes under the house told me that the AC installers had cut through part of a support under the floor, but I don't really know exactly what the details were, as I don't like going under there. I don't know if they've improved since then, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone based on my experience. read more

North Bay Air Systems is as good as it gets! Our air conditioning unit went out and another company came our a took 5 minutes to come back with a recommendation to buy a new unit ($8000+). I called North Bay and they came right out and diagnosed the problem - a small part was all that was needed to repair the system! Then my heater unit went out - same thing - Ron at North Bay Air Systems said we had a choice of either buying a new unit or repairing the one that we have! He found the part and we are back in business! Efficient, honest, reasonable and without a doubt, the customer comes first! read more

The people on the fone are always nice and polite , the workers sent out to do the work is a different story. Had to have heater replaced and the three guys were nice and it took 8 hours to put in new heater. When city came out to inspect it did not pass because it was not connected properly. It took them weeks to have someone come out and change a cord. After they left from fixing cord ( nice guys, bit talkative) lights not working in 2 rooms, had to get and electrician out to reconnect lights. Next time sent three workers out to fix heater, wish they would speak English so I knew what they are saying about work being done in my home and one guy had bad cough and was hacking everywhere. When I asked he said it was the dust, the other guys were having problems. My property management company recommends them read more

Last year, they cleaned out the furnace ducts under the house and repaired where needed, put in a new dryer vent, and cleaned out the bathroom vent. This year, they repaired the Air Conditioner. These guys are the best. I've never had a bad experience from them, from the folks who answer the phone (Chris and April) to the insanely nice guys who do the work. We've been using North Bay Air ever since we moved into our place in Benicia a couple of years ago and they have handled all our HVAC needs. Our heater went out and Jose was nice enough to squeeze us into his schedule. He is the best. Super nice and totally competent. It turned out we needed to replace the entire furnace, which sucked because it was costly, but the guys at North Bay Air made it a very pleasant experience. Terrible experience. Had a new furnace and 3 new registers installed. The furnace sounded like a freight train. Only 1 of the 3 new registers worked. Many of the ducts leaked. 5 years after the installation I found fiberglass insulation in the air return to the furnace, which had been introducing fiberglass into my home air for 5-years. I just hope none of my family suffers from a respiratory problem later in life. We recently had our entire HVAC system replaced by a qualified contractor at great expense. I DO NOT recommend North Bay Air Systems. read more
