Simon was thorough, and explained there was really nothing wrong with our furnace. He tested it, and it worked fine. He didnt charge me anything at all. We asked if he could come out to clean our AC. And you know what he said y'all? He said once every Summer just get your hose, put it on jet, and spray the vents out. That's it. We were ready to pay him to come out and clean our AC unit and Simon, said we didn't need to. I mean, who does that nowadays?! Full disclosure: I had another furnace company come out and check my furnace. This company not only told me my motor was broken (BS! ), and also would cost $950 to fix. Let's Go!!! A week ago, our A/C was working just fine until all of a sudden, it just stopped. I turned off the thermostat and then a few minutes later, the heater kicked on! And this was on the hottest day of the week!! I didn't know what to do so I simply ran over to our breaker box and cut the furnace from there and it stopped. I called the company that serviced our HVAC needs in the past and was told that due to high demand, they were only prioritizing appointments for customers who had a membership with them starting at $35/month! Seriously?! A membership for HVAC service just to get an appointment? No thanks. So now, I had to find another HVAC tech and luckily, I remembered seeing Marasigan Heating and Air's logo on the side of a truck and gave them a call. Symond responded to my message within 10 minutes of me leaving a voicemail and even offered to swing by my place the same day! Too bad I had to head out to work that day but we made an appointment for a day that worked best for both of us and he and his son came out to check out our system. Symond checked out the A/C unit outside, the furnace in the attic and our thermostats and determined that our thermostats needed replacing. He went out to pick up 2 new ones for us (we have a dual thermostat system) and within just a couple of hours, he got our system up and running again! Pricing was on point and very fair. We came back from a family funeral tired and hot Wednesday night only to discover our upper A/C thermostat wasn't working. Well, it was almost 90 when we got home and we were not happy campers to suddenly have to find a reputable A/C company to come out quickly and get this issue addressed and repaired. We looked at various A/C companies we had used before but were really NOT impressed with any of them. Anyway, we decided to try a smaller A/C company and went with Marasigan Heating and Air. Their YELP reviews looked good. Called Marasigan Heating and Air about 10 am Thursday morning and had to leave a VM for a call back. We quickly got an automated text stating he was driving and would call us back. Symond called back within 15 mins and asked about my problem. I told him my thermostat was having problems and it will not turn on in the upstairs zone. He asked me to text him a pic of the thermostat. He then called me and advised me that the Honeywell unit I had (which was 20 yrs old) was no longer being made. He advised me a new unit with larger numbers could be put in. I told him we might as well replace both thermostats at this time and he concurred. He asked me to text him our home address which I did. Symond texted me about an hour later and said he was on his way. He arrived in his nice clean truck and greeted me by name and with a smile. He put on his work shoe covers right away ,which I very much appreciated as I had just cleaned our tile floors downstairs. I showed him in and he quickly replaced both thermostats and vacuumed up the debris leftover from drilling into the Sheetrock to mount the new equipment. Symond then advised my how to self clean my outdoor blower and wash out the A/C drain pipe on the side of the house to maintain the system at its peak performance. All the time Symond was present he treated our home with respect and care as if it was his own home!! He asks permission from me before he entered any room as he had to enter our walk-in closet to get access to the A/C unit which was in the attic. Symond was a total opposite from our past A/C techs who never seemed to like having me look over their shoulders! Or who often would just walk inti our home in their dirty work boots. I recall more than once having to ask them to please put on shoe covers! All the while Symond was at our home he was friendly and open to our questions! Symond was a true professional and a joy to have in our home! I would not hesitate to recommend his A/C skills and services to any home owner! A BIG 5 STARS to what a A/C house call should be!! And the price was well below what other bigger A/C companies would have charge! Cannot say enough positive things about our service call. We had a sudden encounter with a weird smell coming from our heater vents and I wanted to get it checked out immediately. I looked up HVAC companies here on Yelp and this company stood out with all the positive 5-star reviews (with only one negative review?! and it was a communication issue at that). I called the number and it connected me to a voicemail that was a different number. I left a message, thinking maybe it might not reach them. But pretty soon, I got a text from Symond from the new number (he later said he forwards voice messages to his phone when he is out on jobs so he wouldn't miss messages) confirming they got my message and immediately gave me an availability. Symond advised me not to turn on our unit until he gets a look at it, just to be safe. When they came over, they were polite and respectful, even putting on shoe covers (which is a big thing for a no-shoe household). I admitted I didn't know where our unit was but Symond helped me sort it out easily and went up in the attic. He spent a long time there, all the while updating me below about what was happening. He came back with a video and explanation that everything was running well. He tested for carbon monoxide as well, to assure the safety of the air. Knowing I had very little knowledge about HVAC, some other company might have taken advantage and made up a problem they could "fix" and charge me a lot, but Symond was honest and assuring that our unit was working well. The video he took helped a lot to understand his explanation as to what could have caused the smell, and what problems to look out for in the future. He also went and checked our AC unit even though I didn't report any problem with it.
