Outright Rip-Off and Dishonest. Today the Briskets & Gravy food truck came to our neighborhood and this was one of the worst food truck experiences we've ever had. We ordered a 2-meat plate, which clearly states on the menu that the brisket portion is 1/4 lb (4 oz) plus two ribs. When we received our food, the brisket looked noticeably small, so we weighed it at home with a kitchen scale - it came out to only 3 oz, a full 25% less than what we paid for. We went back politely to ask about the discrepancy. Their response was shocking: They flatly denied any mistake, insisting that "all brisket portions are pre-packaged and always at least 4 oz." When we showed them our scale and weighed it in front of them, they started making excuses about "moisture loss" instead of apologizing. We then asked them to weigh an uncut packaged brisket piece, which came out to 5.4 oz, clearly proving that they cut down a larger pre-portioned piece before serving us, directly contradicting their claim. Even with proof in front of them, they continued to argue and showed zero accountability. Only after they realized they were caught did they reluctantly admit "a mistake" and offer compensation with no genuine apology or professionalism. Given their dishonest portioning + combative attitude + refusal to take responsibility, we chose not to eat the food, returned the food as it was, and requested a refund. We also documented everything with photos as evidence. If you don't want to be shorted on portions, gaslit, or treated like you don't know what you're talking about - DO NOT COME! read more

They were the food truck in the neighborhood this week. Tried a 2-meat plate ($30) which included 1/4lb of brisket, 2 pieces of bbq chicken, cornbread, and mac and cheese. Ordered a sweet tea, which I thought was included in the combo, but got charged for 2 extra drinks instead ($3 x2). So they subbed it for a brisket chili (which turned out to be my favorite out of everything, so kinda evens out? ‍). Just confirm everything before paying, I guess. Food turned out to be pretty decent overall. It was enough food for 2 people, even without the chili. Brisket was a good size, chicken was boneless and had a good flavor. My partner said the cornbread was fine, but it had a slight flavor that was unexpected in it. I wouldn't get the mac and cheese again though, because the flavor was more butter/fatty than cheesy. The chili was actually pretty good, though. Out of everything, that might be what I'd buy again. read more

We came here for lunch, and my husband and I both ate here. I had the Brisket Melt with fries, and he had the brisket and gravy fries. The good, the food was plentiful, fries were the win of the meal, they were crispy and seasoned. The bread for the sandwich was buttered and soft. The not so good, the meat was a little tough, and old tasting, like this was the meat from yesterday or even the day before. There was no cheese on the sandwich even though it was a melt. Nothing amazing here, square chunks of meat, tossed in bbq sauce. Looks like all meat used for various dishes is the same, and then tossed in a sauce or gravy. Service was fine, just fine, but he barely conversed and asked very little. Troutdale Station is always lovely. This did not scratch my bbq itch unfortunately. read more

The food here is absolutely delicious and I can't get enough of the barbecue and the chili is banging. They do the seasonings right and I just love a good burger as well. I highly recommend going to this place here in Fairview at this huge food card area. Service is kind and always accommodating and you won't be disappointed with what you have. It had the "it's not gone bad but it's too old" flavor. There was a light smoke flavor, not too much and could have been smoked a smidge longer. But the flavor of the meat was a day or two too old. Their food truck came to the South Waterfront recently and I was so excited. The staff seem friendly and I felt good about the aroma coming from the truck. I most looked forward to the brisket bites, but also ordered some fries and a meat plate. The pictures will speak for themselves but I'll highlight some things. This box of truffle fries were what I saw when I opened the box. The amount of fries for the price of $6-7 were insufficient. They were yummy though don't get me wrong. As for the brisket bites, I don't know how the cook was able to take this out of the fryer and think it was okay to serve to anyone. There are large burnt spots on every single piece. These were around $11-12 bucks for 5 pieces, but rightfully so, as it contains brisket on the inside. Just unfortunate that they were burnt. The meat plate ($25-30) was ok. The ribs needed to be soaked in sauce because it lacked flavor. The meat was not tender, and hard to get off the bone. The mac was simple and serviceable. I usually give a place two chances, but I'm unlikely to do the same for this food cart. read more

Pretty good food cart at a Troutdale station. I thought I'd try something a little bit different from the standard food cart options. I went with BBQ brisket balls and a brisket melt sando.My complaint is it took a really long time to get my food. It was early when the place just opened so there was no line. The sandwich did not have a lot of meat and the BBQ brisket balls were mostly mashed potatoes with hardly any meat. Pretty pricey lunch for what I received. read more

I have eaten here twice now when. In the area and overall, what they have to offer really hits the spot. It's a unique twist on the traditional biscuits and gravy but it works. I'll have to give them a try again and order a different item but just say, the brisket was tender and flavorful and very filling if you are hungry for some great comfort food. read more

Let me first start by saying that I think with some small changes to the meal prep process this could easily be a 4 star. I got the Brisket n Gravy as well as the Ribs. They were out of the chicken an hour after opening... that should have been my first red flag! First off, the brisket is all reheated from being frozen which naturally causes it to lose its moisture and makes it tough to chew. The brisket was un-edible in this dish as it tasted and felt like cardboard. I also would have loved much more gravy if it was going to be dry anyways. The egg was cooked way too long and I could only eat about half of it. I wanted to like this one so badly. Second was the Ribs. I could tell the flavor was definitely there when these were first cooked. Unfortunately, this was also frozen and reheated through a fryer. What kind of way to eat ribs is that?? Not even BBQ sauce could save the lack of moisture on these. I was going into this one with high hopes as the Brisket n Gravy concept is fantastic! Ordered the brisket and biscuit. It was moderately tasty but there was a pretty long wait and the portion sizes were slow. I did enjoy chatting with the employees though, they made the wait not seem so long! The biscuit was perfect, but the gravy was a bit bland and the brisket was a tad dry. I saw Briskets and Gravy and, being a devotee of brisket in general, thought I'd take a look. The appropriate sized option seemed to be the Brisket and Gravy Fries, which sounds a lot like poutine with important friends. I just didn't realize how important those friends might be! Rich mushroom gravy with plenty of tender chunks of brisket covered the waffle-fries before being dusted with what looked like dried parsley flakes. Quick and excellent service. The owner and chef were very kind and accommodating when explaining the menu as it was my first time ordering. They recommended their top seller, the smoked brisket melt and boy did they not disappoint! The brisket was tender-melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, the provolone cheese had that perfect melt, the veggies had an excellent grilled taste to them and all of this was held together inside of a fresh hoagie roll. Came here with high expectations based off of the reviews and pictures. I searched the menu and wanted to try the Brisket Melt with onion rings. I had expected a full sandwich but I got a half sandwich. Ok fine, if the food is good I can let that slide. One bit into it and I completely regretted my purchase. The brisket was all fat. Some fat is acceptable but the whole thing was completely uneatable and that is when I realized it didn't even have cheese. I was hungry and didn't notice until then.
