She ordered it without pickles because she absolutely hates pickles. Do you think they left it off, nope. Not only did they have a pickle on there there were two pickles. And that was to keep the Third pickle company. Fourth was getting lonely, so why not put that on there too along with the fifth one. Number six couldn't be left off gotta leave even Number. I didn't look too hard and come to find out. It's pretty much like a food truck area. I ordered a bacon Blue Burger. Oh my God it was so good and the Cajun fries were awesome. So, I'm from Hawaii. I worked at a Hawaii burger chain for almost 20 years... moving to Oregon and I constantly ask, where's a good burger? No one ever really has an answer. So I search yelp, and I've seen these guys on my DoorDash ordering page. I got off work early one day and a friend mentioned that there is Hawaii food at "THE FORK" so I went over, I didn't care for the Hawaiian food truck (sorry no offense) because... well I smelled burgers. I smelt juicy beef coming from a vent. I turned around and what do you know? It's a burger cart!!! The worker in the food cart looked young, and I remembered when I was 14 I was flipping burgers myself. I checked out the menu, I found my favorite burger on it. MUSHROOMS AND SWISS CHEESE! And who doesn't love a good ole smash burger? I even ordered fries. I splurged a little. It all came out to about $18? The worker was friendly, food was timely. I walked my dog and myself around the vicinity and got a boba and my buzzer went off and I went straight home to eat the burger. It was so juicy, and yes greasy too. What do you expect? It's a BURGER! A greasy ole burger. My favorite food item. The fries were yummy and I honestly sat there with my double patties mushroom Swiss burger with the veggies and I just felt so darn happy. It made me miss being back in Hawaii for a minute because honestly I ate a burger every chance I got back home. But I can't wait to treat myself again. I asked for my onions to be grilled. To my surprise, it was a dollar extra, but grilled onions is a must. I feel bad leaving a negative review but I didn't eat my burger because it was swimming in sauce. On both sides of the burger bun and seeped out under the bun too. The bun wasn't crispy and it turned into a soggy mess. the lettuce along with the sauce on the bottom bun made the burger slide out and it was not a crispy smash burger like you'd hope. Stopped here on a whim to find some good burgers and we found some great ones! The burgers and fries were delicious! This is the first smash burger I have ever had before and it was amazing! The man working was incredibly friendly and the service was really quick with how busy he was and it only being him working! I have never visited this food pod before but the parking was easy and they had so many different food trucks offered! Sammy's SmashBurgers; once again I am drawn to a purveyor of smashed burgers so thin and perfectly cooked on a nice soft brioche bun. I got the American with lettuce and tomatoes and American cheese. My wife got the mushroom Swiss version and we were both making happy noises as we ate them. We did not get fries this time but on previous visits they were always crisp and delicious. Located in the Fairview food pod by the giant fork on NE Halsey St. There are many more good carts here and a hall with a bar and indoor seating for the occasional weather we get around here. read more
