I lost my job in the city and was struggling to make payments. She let me pay what I could until I got another job. I did get a new job and payed her back, sadly right after that I got laid off from the new job! After 7 years of going back to school and moving back to my moms I moved out again and lived in the same 1 bedroom apt as I had 7 years ago!!! So seriously though, nice landlord and I never had troubles. They allow cats but not dogs (the walls are not super thin but you would be able to hear a dog barking) There is a decent enough cabinet space in the 1 bedroom but the dining room is really small. The 2 bedroom is laid out better but the living room is a strange shaped rectangle. They only have baseboard heating which is kind of nice, it the only have box air conditioners which isn't nice. I had a few minor maintenance issues when there but she was fast to fix things. It's an older complex but still nicer than some if the places I've seen by far. The pricing is pretty inexpensive too. They are right next to the bike path and the park! I once had to call the cops and they were there in 2 min no joke. They are right nearby!

My fiancée and I tested our luck and applied. Nice and comfortable apartments, tenants are really nice. The AC is newer than other apartments I know. The apartment is nice when you first move in but it quickly falls apart. The pain chips, the sink…read morechips, the blinds chip, even the "granite" chips. You can hear everything through the walls as they are paper thin, even a cough from your neighbor sounds like they're standing in your living room. The management office is unbelievably rude, especially the AA woman. My dishwasher flooded and the water was up to my ankles, trying to get maintenance out to your apartment is a joke. If you complain to management they start doing spiteful things such as sending packages away, even going as far as writing up false noise complaints. The reason I know they're false is because the complaints didn't start until 3 years after I lived there and my neighbors assured me that they never complained or heard any noise (outside of standard living) coming from my apartment. There isn't many up to date rental properties in highland but I promise this place is NOT worth it.

I never got to speak with the manager about the concerns. I then called their Corporates offices in Indianapolis and no one ever called me back about the issues that were presented.. They seem more concerned about collecting rent and dodging resident complaints, than addressing them in an professional and compassionate manner. I suggest speaking directly to current residents before making the move or moving an elderly loved one to this facility. My next complaint will be with the BBB.

All the neighbors were wonderful. In the summer it would sometimes get annoying with all the noise from the landscaping, sometimes it was almost a everyday nuisance. We have an impeccable history with paying our rent on time. There were even where we paid for multiple months. The town home we live in, is well very taken care of. There has been absolutely no updates made to the town home, outside of new windows that were put in for the entire complex. Nevertheless, we're still here and being modeled tenants. Within the last couple of months, a severe smoke smell has been lingering within our townhome unit. Our unit is an end unit, so quite naturally we asked the neighbor if they were smokers. The neighbors said they weren't and so we left it alone, with the hopes that things will get better. Unfortunately, it got no better. It's even more unfortunate when you're not a smoker. The smell consists of smoke as well as marijuana. By this time quite naturally we have had enough. We spoke with the property manager Nicole on 8/15/23. We shared our frustrations and concerns with Nicole. Nicole mentioned how she sent out a message of courtesy around smoking and she was hoping this would fix the issue however it did not. She did mention how neighbors are allowed to smoke in their home. We did not know this, and we take full responsibility for that. At the same time, It's one thing if a person smokes occasionally in their home; but it's another thing when the smell of the smoke impacts another tenants day-to-day living and them being able to focus and enjoy their home. Nicole mentioned that she didn't want to lose us as tenants and that she was open to suggestions that would help to remedy the issue. She even suggested moving into a different townhome if that would maybe solve the issue. She also mentioned that she'll send out another message around smoking. It was decided that we'll put some thought to it and then get back to her. Believe it or not, the smoke smell was strong and heavy again. We said forget it, let's go ahead and reach out to Nicole and see what the process would be to move into a different home and take our chances. We spoke with Nicole on 8/17/23, and when it was all said and done, she advised us that to move it to a different townhome, we would have to pay $600 and our rent would go all the way up to market rent. We're already paying almost $1100; yet the remedy to possibly resolve the smoking issue, is for us to be out of more money, and pay market rent of over $1200. We're left speechless.

I greatly appreciate the care and follow up that Nicole and Juan showed. I have been a resident since February 2020 and I could not have found a better place to call home. MOLD! This place looks nice enough from the outside but the problems start after you move in. We…read moregot mold months after moving in when we call them and they make it seem like it's normal saying the windows seals are broken and all they do it's clean the mold and not actually fix the problem that causes it. We then got mold in our closet and we lost several personal items that they don't replace and then mold showed up in our bathroom, which they open the wall full of mold and left the wall open for almost a month with the mold everywhere due to bad communication with maintenance. We renewed our lease because we thought the mold was gone but as soon as it got cold the mold came back. We are breaking our lease because this apartment is no longer a healthy environment for us I have 2 small children that keep getting sick and now because we want to leave to keep our family safe we have to be punish and pay a Huge fee. Once I sent the email with our reason for leaving they want to "fix" the problem. The walls are paper thin so you would hear EVERYTHING! And some of the neighbors thing they own the Parking because they been here longer! I would not move here but if you do test for mold and other things.
